Chito’s run of Hail Mary victories over Frankie, Font, and Cruz really stunted his growth as a fighter. His clinch disappeared, he doubled-down on a striking-only approach, and it led to him getting horribly battered by the elite guys. Curious if he’s been able to correct course at all.

Probably not, he knows he's a slow starter and continues to fight the same way and lose in the same way, a guy with that good of a chin should take more risk and apply pressure more instead of waiting for the perfect time which doesn't always come.

He is a "bully" fighter just like Till or Costa. They do well against pillow hands fighters. Easier to walk through someone with no punching power when you have a great chin.

Doms recovery to getting hurt is crazy. The only thing he ever missed was power. Even after he got knocked out he got back up pretty quick.

They're lightweights. They get dropped but it's a flash knockout it's not from force, it's placement and easy to recover from, if you know you know. Sean O'Malley must hit hard as well as placement.

Dom was winning this fight by a solid margin. Same with Edgar as well. Then boom. Chito finds the shot. He shouldn’t always rely on that. He is very well rounded in every aspect minus his get up on bottom / TD defense.

Dom only got away with taking it because he was in his prime. Chito literally get picked apart. Yan makes read and is still able to pick part his opponents. There’s levels and Chito isn’t up there with the elites

He just isn’t elite. Every time he faces an elite fighter he gets beat pretty easily. Dom and Frankie although elite obviously have been way past their primes. Both would have absolutely ragdolled Chito if they fought him in their primes

@@ppvplug3940Cruz was facing different competition back then, this new generation of fighters are complete in almost every aspect, we still see specialists but they don't make it the far. I'm a big Dominic Cruz fan too, and I know he's not up to par with the best, If he was younger he probably could take a shot better, but he's still throwing arm punches all loopy, and with bad technique. Yes I do understand the difference in how certain strikes are thrown. Dom likes to throw his hooks with the palm down mostly landing with the sides and thumbs, I wouldn't doubt he's broken his hands multiple times because of this, I don't like this style but it seems a lot of Sambo, muay thai, and yes even kickboxing use this technique, I'm more of a fan of the proper palm in boxing style hook.

Dominck has some of the best footwork in all of MMA, BUT keeps his hands low. Chito is a new breed of bad ass. He doesn’t back up and can counter punch with the best. His composure, timing and power are amazing. Good fight.

I don't know what the commentators talking about. Chito did it perfect and didn't play a "dangerous game". He waited until he clipped Cruz badly to finish the fight, instead of try to press it and maybe get clipped and finished himself. The style of Cruz is not just awkward, the constant movement are way to exhausting. He was already gassed out when he out, when chito finished him. Lol k

Cruz can still hang with the best but he was definitely TKOd. Chito got a cpl punches in without Cruz moving and once it was called he couldn't get off the mat. When he did you can obviously see he was still wobbled. Him saying early stoppage was hilarious. 😂

Dom is a legend man, he would have been Top 10 GOATs IMO if he wasn’t the unluckiest dude ever in his prime with injuries, wasted so many great years of his career and he still the Bantamweight GOAT for sure. I always thought he had an underrated chin too. Every good thing comes to end unfortunately but will never forget prime Cruz🔥

I am a chito fan but its so frustrating ive given up. Its hard to root for him when he goes into a 5 round fight on cruise control for the first 4 rounds and then only fights hard for 1 round when its usually too little too late

Cruz moves his head off the center line every time he throws, but he only raises his hands reactively. All it takes is someone able to time a shot with his movement and it’s over. Especially with his old man chin

That was no "shin to the chin." Vera landed that kick squarely on Cruz's nose and when the KO is being announced, you can really see how badly his nose is bent and broken as a result.

Cruz's problem later in the fight is he dipped really hard down and to the right with his head on the right hand feints from Chito. Chito had to of realized it and feinted the right into his left high kick for the KO

We’re in round 2 and they counting out Chito, I think he’s being methodical. Allowing Cruz to throw volume and when Cruz slows down Chito will start to land heavy and take him out as Cruz slows the pace and Chito comes in strong with the energy he’s saved. I thinks he’s gathering intel and waiting for precision and power. Let’s see. Maybe I am wrong but I think Chito has it planned this far.. Eventually Cruz’s hand are gonna start weighing low and then Chito exicutes. 🥊
