Heard it in an LC Waikiki clothing store a few weeks back, never heard it before that. Liked it right away, it's one of those songs that make me feel nostalgic even though I haven't heard them in the period I'm nostalgic about, if that makes sense.
I remember one day I was crying because I couldn't find my pencil, everyone in my class was like "bruh your pencil is on your ear" but they were quiet until I knew it.
This song is about romantic relationship but I don't care already cos the end of the world is coming 35 years later in 2059. Everyone else can disbelieve me but who cares?! Just marry and don't have children okay already.
Can we appreciate the background effects. The staging and transitions are on point (taking advantage of the plant imagery and text). The eye is smoothly guided through what feels like a maze of visuals (makes sense given the content) and on that note, the visuals. The way the plants are used with the text is beautiful.
Right? The plants are the most memorable thing about this video. The scene/camera cutting on those parts before the chorus makes the video feel alive, how they animated it blooming and stuff even without a lot of motion on the text itself. The kaleidoscope is almost hypnotizing. It's been 9 years since this was out, and I've got terrible memory from dissociation, but this video is printed in my head thanks to the visuals.

I remember back when this song was new, I was speaking to a girl and she was the one who sent it to me! Long story short, she was the one who got away … the one I should have really expressed my feelings to but didn’t. And more than 9 years later I still think about her and this song in particular always brings back those beautiful memories :) I miss you Sophie! x

The worst part about this song is it’s so accurate for my situation. Brought my girl out from her depression, and then she felt like she didn’t need me anymore and ditched me as soon as she felt entitled to. I know I made mistakes, and she did too. But I’m analyzing the maps, trying to find my way back into her heart. Update: Thanks everyone, for all of the support. Moving on is hard, but not impossible. It’s been half a year since the breakup and I am living a great life without my ex. Trust me, it hurts at first, but it gets easier. I first heard this song back in 6th grade on the bus trip to school, like months after it released, i was hooked immediately. the nostalgia this brings.
Gosh this hits hard.... I was there for my friend in all his hard times, I've done everything for him. But he stopped being there for me over and over when I did nothing to him.... Why bother caring at all when you turn your back on me for good in the end and then claim I never cared for you? I'll never understand.
