i miss the 2010s. this song reminds me of that one person in middle school that told me they cared, but in reality, it was obvious they didn’t. i was the only one trying to keep our friendship going. they would only talk to me on the way to one certain class. they were embarrassed to talk to me in front of their other friends. they almost always ignored my texts. they promised to come talk to me one day, but never did. it hurts even worse since we were so close in the beginning of middle school. ANYWAYS that’s why i’m nervous to make more friends, the fear of being abandoned. glad that’s over though. time stamp for myself: 0:51 edit: it's been almost two years since i posed this comment, and i have to say i've been feeling a lot better than i was when i commented this. if you've been going through something similar to this, my best solution would be to drop them. they're not worth your time *at all*, you deserve an amazing friendship, and i wish the best for all of u :)

This song reminded me a lot of my childhood. Don’t mind just a little rant ^^ The first half of elementary school I only had one friend and spent most of my time alone. I made another friend in 2nd grade who ended up bullying me and spreading rumours to the only friend I had causing her to temporarily leave me. I didn’t have much going for me and didn’t have much fun because of the lack of friends. So the only thing I really could do was try to grow up early and I became one of the smartest students in school. I always got the best grades. It made it quite easy to pick on me since I was considered the typical “loner”. I had very little experience making friends. All I knew how to do was be a good person, not to mention I was a child who always looked for the good in people. So when I got my first friend group I was the left out one of the group. I was often the but of most jokes and the therapist friend. My friends would walk all over one and one specific friend in the group constantly made me feel like shit everyday. I didn’t know how to stand up for myself and the rest of elementary school I spent with a fake friend group. I switched friend groups 3 times in grade 6. Every single one treated me like shit at some point. I felt like in the first and second group I wasn’t even known as their friend I was just there. But when I met my third friend group everything changed. For the first time I felt appreciated by my friends. I honestly should be more grateful for them. Even throughout everything they were the only people who believed in me. If it weren’t for those two friends of mine I would’ve been long gone by now. Brittany and Abi if you ever read this I just want to say you have truly made my life worth living. Things are still going bad for all of us I know. But together I hope we can make each other’s lives a little better. I love you two so much.

This brings me back to my childhood ☹️when life was good 💀 but my aunt literally was my whole childhood and I love Her SO MUCH 🥺 and literally she’s my other half ❤️ but this was OUR SONGGG and it just brings back so much flash backs 🥰 she makes my life complete 🤩

Sad POV I came up with on the spot: You're 5-6 years old. Your parents are friends with another parents, and they introduce their son/daughter to you, (We'll call this person S) who is also around the same age. In the beginning, you two didn't really talk much and kept to yourself. But eventually, you two started playing the wii together. And from there, you two became best buddies. You two would go to each others house very often, go to places together, and enjoy each others company, with sleepovers. As years go on, you two are so close where you're practically siblings. You feel inseparable and that no one can ever separate the two of you. You two are friends for life. More fun times follow over the years. But at the end of one year, life gets in the way. You two start to not see each other as much, due to distance and school or whatever. As time goes on, your visits and hangouts shorten, to the point where you would see each other every 4-5 months with no way of contact. You two are much older now, and your interests have begin to change. You start to wonder if the both of you are still family and if the other friend wants to maintain that contact. You find out that S isn't who they used to be. S is more attached to their school friends and maybe not as outgoing with you as they once were when yall were younger. This makes you start to wonder if S sees it as a burden to see you. By now you're feeling hopeless and sorry for yourself. You wish you could just turn back time and go back to the old days. On one day, your parents informs you that S wants to cut ties with you and isn't interested in seeing you anymore. You feel your heart shatter. Your friend, your brother/sister, someone who you grew up with, who you saw a future with, who you wanted in your life till death, no longer cares for you. This is where your journey with S ends. You run upstairs to cry as you struggle to believe this is real. You just want your friend back, to be there with you, while hugging you and telling you it's not true 6 months later, you're cycling down the street in S's neighborhood. You stop in front of their house. This song is playing from another house. As this song loudly plays, you stare at the house as the memories come flooding back in. You remember all the good times, you wonder what life would be like if you two were still friends, you think about all of the missed chances of being able to hang out with S, you wonder where it all went wrong, and you wonder what they're up to. This house, is where most of your childhood is at. The door suddenly oppens. You watch as 2 people who you don't recognize comes out, laughing, followed by S, who is also laughing. They all take a selfie, hugs, and goes their seperate ways. You can't control yourself. You start to tear up uncontrollably. You cover your face as you wipe the tears away. When you look up, you see S look at you for a second, not even smiling or waving, before closing the door. Heart broken and confused, you cycle away.
