I bought a Solana SAGE at pre-order for $1000, received $20USDC and other air drops, and won 2 Claynosaurz. So really I bought my SAGA for less than $300. I understood it would have its flaws but this is how we get to future versions that can compete with the Apple and Android phones. I can't wait to play Star Atlas SAGE Labs on my SAGA phone knowing my ship assets are much safer than using a hot wallet!
Well, you are wrong if you think such phone will have success. There are simple reasons for this. The amount of infrastructure, manufacturing channels, build know-how, etc. in order to have a good competitive phone is too great. The best approach for Solana is to do a collaboration with some established phone vendor just like the Nexus project of Google. The Nexus was immense success because of this. And now the Pixels are not even among the best devices even after several years of Google pushing. Solana phone will be just discontinued if their approach is not changed.
Chinese manufacturers have been making small batch replicas of name brand mobile phones for years now. Some are just as good as the phone they are mimicking. Apple phones are basically completely made in china minus a few proprietary chips from apple. But even those have been copied. And Samsung is the same way.

He's smart enough to see that crypto is not used as a currency but a speculative investment and that NFTs have no real utility whatsoever and are also a speculative investment. I flat out refuse to get into crypto or NFTs at this stage for that reason - crypto and NFTs don't actually do anything yet. You can say it's the future all you like - but you're going to have to show me the potential of this technology at some point, you can't just keep kicking the can down the road saying "one day your mortgage will be an NFT and you'll pay for your groceries in crypto".

@paul : why are you always pushing solana? It scares to invest into that, because there are only few people who own majority of it. And I saw major price drops when there they decided to sell sell their stakes. Solana has good features, but it is not ripe for prime times the chain crashed few times. And it’s ownership controlled by few who make $$ on others.
How are they going to handle all of the crap scam NFTs that will be sent to the phone to phish the user in? And how is this a benefit on this device? MB is right. Besides, all block chains are investigating and working on DIDs. This is not just something Solana is trying to do. This is where the entire market needs to get to Ethereum, Cardano, and even Solana. I have saga phone and love it! Plus I got helium mobile unlimited everything for 5 bucks... plus mapping for helium pays me like 1.25 in mobile a day.... so I get money using my phone. Good helium service or T-Mobile service

Why is the Solana Saga phone priced in USD? There's an ETH phone priced in ETH. Which makes sense. Given the middle of the road hardware, Saga phone appears to be a money grab amongst a liquidity drought.

I’m a solana investor but it seems that you are all in! Honestly it all sounds good but for a phone I think is way to early to actually buy one. Innovation is always appreciated but it has to be able to compete with Apple and Samsung in everything else as well. Is simply not good enough for now.

Comparing this Solana phone to apple phones is like comparing lemons to watermelons, Ofc solana mobile would give "free stuff" their phone costs like 100$ to manufacture and they sold it for 1k$. I'm just waiting for a company like Samsung, Sony, Google, Moto, OnePLus.. someone.. to release a secure element hardware so developers can port wallets to the device. Not a SOL phone or ETH etc, but just a regular phone with the hardware to make my phone a secure hardware wallet with support for any chain.
