This video shows the building process of an inlaid marquetry cabinet. Deze video toont het maken van een meubel gedecoreerd met marqueterie en inlegwerk.
You’re an absolute artist. I love watching your videos. I do some intarsia work with my scroll saw but I really want to get into double bevel marquetry. I have a lot for beautiful exotic woods but I need a band saw to resale them. I even have a really nice board of snake wood.
Thank you Michael ! Silke was a great dog, unfortunately she got sick in October 2020 and passed away. We now have a beautiful Ridgeback lady of 10 months old.
Stunning, inspiring work! And so instructive. Many thanks for posting. Are the saw cuts on the marquetry inlay angled to allow for the thickness of the blade when put together?
Thank you Robert ! I use the Titebond original in many cases. The glue sets quickly, but doesn't like to be moved after assembling. When I want a longer open time, for glueing doorframes for example, I use Bison PVAC gleu ,water resistant..
Excellent work Mr. Rozenga. Might I ask, what is the thickness of the wood you used in the marquetry and what is you table angle set at? What size blades are you using? I ask because I took a class and we used a very thin veneer, about .060 and a 2/0 blade. I think the table angle was 8 degrees if I recall. Thank you for making these videos. You truly are a MASTER at your craft.
Thank you, that's nice to hear. The veneer I use is 3mm. The table is set at about 6 degrees, but it is highly dependent on the exact thickness, you just have to try. The thinner the veneer, how steeper the angle. The blades I use are the Pebeco 3.
