I think Harmony was trying to say that only holding on to a marriage because of traditional ideas of it being forever doesn’t make it a good marriage. Being able to grow and work through discourse to find a resolution is what makes a marriage good. Plus, being equals and respecting each other. If you’re only staying together because of being legally binded and nothing else then there is not solid foundation for a relationship but if the companionship through this journey of life is worth being together then that is everything. Being mature and having the self realization and love to end a relationship is healthy. Don’t fall into a pit of sunk-cost-fallacy if the one you’re with isn’t filling your cup. Life is short, you both are young, there is time to fix this and time to walk away. I hope you guys stay healthy and proud of you Iris for working on sobriety. That is super difficult and worth it in every way.
