She was too immature mentally fir him and he realized that early on AND didn't want to lead her on he just wanted to be friends at that point. Nice guy - his parents raised him well.
Iris also assumed that most men would be thrilled to have a virgin but Keith basically said he didnt want that responsibility of having to teach her - he wanted a full grown woman out the gate - Iris was not !

That girl was just immature PERIOD!!! When she made a big thing about the juice that could have been the most of 7.00 I was done with her. She could have easily bought another juice and talked to Keith after. However, she had a holy coalition over some cheap ass juice! It was her lack of maturity for me, the story about the penny and the fact that she kept reminding anyone who would listen about her virginity. @@nayoka25 Her signing up to be married but remaining guarded, rigid in everything (what sink he could wash his hands in, the shoes, friends only drinking out of a specific juice), not willing to compromise with her partner on anything, and closed off emotionally are evidence of her having a fantasy of how the process and marriage would be. She seemed not to consider that a marriage means compromises and working together on both parts not her having everything her way.
I was not an Iris fan......she got on my nerves all season to be honest. She was immature, petty, and just plain old frigid. Not saying she had to give up the cookies immediately, but she didn't really even want to go past 2nd base with the man. I thought that Keith was pretty patient for the most part, while Iris was hesitant to even discuss their intimacy issues. I'm glad he said no thanks at the end......👍🏾

You were not looking to be married and that's ok but did you ever think about the other person and her feelings when all this was over. you were not looking for a wife then nor are you looking for one now but what about your wife who was on there for real
This interview explained alot about MAFS. I honestly thought the participants were actually looking for marriage. Now I know they are cast to play the role of someone looking for marriage. It's some acting going on. WOW! It seems they match people who were cast, with people who are actually looking to be married. Iris did the right thing. She saved her virginity for her real husband, not a t.v. husband.
Truthfully if the marriage wasn't consummated it can be annulled divorce not required. Probably the show pressed the divorce issue for the purpose of the show.
Iris was never real. She, in many ways was looked down on Keith especially when his friends show up at the party. Thinking it was audacious to drink juice from their refrigerator was way too petty. Giving directions to where to put your clothes not bring shoes in the house just to say a few was wayyyyy too much. I support him taking a walk.
I don’t think it was Keith, but definitely Iris. She was a little immature and she didn’t fit with him at all. I was glad he chose not to continue. I think he handled it well though.
The best conversation we heard from Iris was ‘Virginity’. If the only secret you can give when playing a game was enough for him to understand she wasn’t ready.
Iris inexperience was why she was immature. Instead of saying she was waiting for marriage. She should have been saying. She's waiting for the right time.
I wish the interviewer would have asked more questions about the show and why he didn't want to have sex w/ Iris. Did he know very early on that he was divorcing Iris?
I still don't understnad why people were and are so hard on Iris. they keep on calling her immature but I am sure they are people you get mad about the toilet sit up instead of down, the toothpaste tube is not squeezed from the bottom, if people don't take their shoes off when they come in their etc...We all have things that we find annoying. Next time you get mad about your husband not picking up his socks, just remember that is also immaturity.
I think folks should hear Iris’s side. She’s made it a point to not speak negatively on Keith abs was offended that she was clipped as Immature...they had some intimate encounters that weren’t shown is what I’ll say...
Micha, you dodged a bullet with the DC season. That was a hot mess! I liked season 9 and season 11, but DC was so disappointing especially for the black couples.
I was so disappointed that you and Iris didn't stay married, but i understand why. She used her virginity as a power tool to make you say yes at the end, but it backfired. That's unfortunate for her.
I don’t see it that way. Iris didn’t want to have sex with someone she wasn’t going to stay married to and she was right. 8 weeks is not a lot of time especially for someone who has not had sex. Also, the show was too heavily edited around her virginity. Being a virgin is not uncommon for Christian women and Christian men should understand that. This show is a difficult process with being followed by cameras all day everyday especially for private people which they both said they are.

People have got to understand that labeling Iris as immature is wrong! She’s just an awkward black girl who was nervous. I commend her for saving herself for who she deserves. That takes guts especially in a world where sex is forced on you. I felt Iris about going in the fridge and I don’t know you. I wish they would’ve discussed their likes and dislikes more before friends were allowed to come over. Also, friends have got to respect that marriage comes with changes so deal with it family and friends!
Keith i was trusting that your marriage to Iris would work. You were ery patient with her and respected her requests! I felt that it would had been magic had she trust herself to trust you. The main reason, I feel, is that Iris was frigid! Very few men will marry a woman who has no regard and/or interest in sex. Here is this tall, fine man who was so patient with her lack of physical closeness, time after time, yet she remained the "sacred Virgin". That's the main reason why Keith had to say no. I don't blame him. I wanted to scream through the TV and tell Iris to warm up and let him do the rest.
She was not just a Virgin. She had other trauma she didn't talk about. She was naive and turned her nose up on general affection. She was attractive. But that's not enough. Good for him for looking deeper into the person she showed. I saw flags throughout!

I never understood the people who disliked Keith, I completely understand where he was coming from and why he didn’t want to stay married to Iris. He explained it from the beginning, he finds sexually confident women attractive. A woman who knows and understands her body. Her being a virgin wasn’t the issue, her being uncomfortable with sex was the issue and a major turn off, so much so that he no longer wanted sex from her. So why stay married to someone you don’t even want to fuck?
Keith went on the show to have a venue to make connections to talk about his book.. I saw through him from the beginning. He did not want to be married. He used Iris as a route to promote his book. He's a narcissist.
