“Once you go tiny you might never go back?” Wtf 😂

What happens when they get too old to climb up and down from their loft bed? A walker isn’t going to fit in there either. Not ideal for the elderly at all.

Definitely not for elderly.

I'm sure they'll figure it out when the time comes. (:

There's a lot of homes not optimized for the elderly, doesn't stop people from making it work. Whether it's a two story home with no ground level bedrooms, or a house that's just not ADA compliant, or a tiny house with lofts, there's ways around just about anything. Like, if they ever stop traveling they can just set it on a property and build an addition to it to give it a ground level bedroom and leave the loft for guests. Among other a long list of other options...

Exactly I am only 62 but I have arthritis in both knees. There is no way that I would be able to make a loft bedroom work for me. Besides if you are the type of person that has to go to the bathroom on the middle of the night just imagine not being able to stand up in your bedroom and then making your way down a ladder in the dark

@@brianwhite2784 I would love to have this and then I would build a porch around it somehow and have a garden stay outside mostly in the garden or greenhouse.

And where do they actually live?

Originally from Nor Cal, but now this is it. Here, they’re staying at an RV park in Del Mar, but they travel around from place to place with a tiny home festival called Tiny Fest. Nomadic lifestyle.

I bet it's still expensive.

They spent $125K on it. More expensive bc of the solar panels.

Size is only one factor that determines costs. If everything remained equal then costs can be much lower than a larger home but often people take advantage of the costs savings by instead spending more on things like better luxury features, such as the steam/sauna shower and solar power system. Basically, they used going tiny to focus on what they care about and that works for them but others can all choose to do it differently and thus the cost will be different depending on people's choices.

LOL these are 100% a depreciating value asset LOOOOLLL
@ZeoCyberG

No, that's not how it works. Houses don't depreciate rapidly like RV's and vehicles and the fact is it's still a house. Some of them even get put on foundations and officially recognized as a residential home with a certificate of occupancy. They can go to states like California and Washington state where it's hard to have a tiny house be the only structure on a property but they do allow them as ADU's and anything tied to property can appreciate. At worse, it'll depreciate slowly but mainly only if they don't take care of it and never renew it with a renovation/remodel. Because houses can be restored to new and sold for full market value, that's why it's possible to flip properties. It wouldn't be possible otherwise! The value just won't be tied to the local economy like real estate if it's not tied to land/property but it is possible to tie it to land/property...
