Last season on Married to Medicine, former cast-mate, executive producer, and creator of the show Mariah Huq’s absence was felt and left a lot of unanswered questions amongst viewers. Was she fired from the show she created? Is she still friends with her former cast-mates? In an exclusive interview, she sits down with Carlos and talks about her departure from the show, her healing journey, and how she almost became a Real Housewife of Atlanta.

Mariah is a star. Her personality and star power is out of this world. She deserves to be back on the show she created, with creative control. They never allowed her to host trips and they gave Heavenly more creative control than Mariah and she was an EP and the creator. The production team at Purveyors of Pop mocked her by replacing her with Anilla. It enrages me the way they blatantly disrespected her. She filmed the first two pilots herself on her own dime. The production company encouraged and fostered a environment where Mariah was always the target. The women knew how much the producers hated her so they never built a genuine relationship with her. She casted majority of the women, including Heavenly. She never deserved the disrespect that she got. From cast and producers.

Much respect to Mariah Huq. It takes strength and character to step back and allow God to fight your battles for you. She put women on who if it wasn't for this show, their medical practices and extended businesses wouldn't be doing half as well as they are, and some of them (QUAD) wouldn't even have a name at all. Mariah remained still and she is getting her coin whether on the show or not as the brain child of the show. Nothing but love for this Queen. Darkness always comes to light. It's a shame that the women could not rally behind her after she was the one to open doors for them to level up.

Heavenly & Quad bullied Mariah off that show and the production team (network) to Married to Medicine were absolutely horrible to her. Why were the cast and Producers so disrespectful to her knowing she was the creator and EP of the show? How do you try to sideline her (women..black women really suffer in this industry). And they were all complicit (especially Heavenly & Quad) in the mistreatment. I'm so happy she had the last laugh and has creator and EP credit. This just goes to show how easily we are dismissed in business and it is so important to really understand your worth and come through with the fighting spirit. In the Grand scheme of things it was never about her being on the show - it was her legacy creating the show. How truly Inspirational this interview with Mariah is. Thanks Carlos and Thank you Mariah for sharing. I have some great ideas for some TV shows if you ever need a pitch.

I actually loved Mariah and Quad's friendship. I missed it when it ended. The only thing is that Mariah acted like she was above Quad sometimes, but to me their were on a equal level, but even with that they just had fun, threw a little shade, gave you fashions, and they had serious talks. You could tell they were friends. I think the success of the show, people having their favorites, and social media went to both of their heads and their egos broke up their friendship. The same has happened to Dr. Jackie and Dr. Simone, but more so Simone her ego is out of control as well.

How ungrateful can you be? I could never treat someone who gave me that kinda platform like that. Mariah…I needed to hear your testimony. I was at a job that I grew and loved and was the only black woman there. I don’t have any children and I take care of my mom and teenage sister. I was fired recently after being accused and lied on that I had to file a grievance report. I was working my behind off for my doctors practice while trying to find a place to live (still). When they sold the practice I was the only person that stayed in my department. It took getting fired for me realize my worth. I felt peace I haven’t felt in three years. God gave me a job a week later and my doctors were devastated. 😮We’re almost in a place but I needed to hear this. It takes a long time to not feel hurt and pain after giving your all to a job. I’m always rooting for others but this was the time I needed to put myself first in years. What God has for you is for you. Thank you for being real!❤❤❤
