We had an overnight stay at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina this past October 21-22, 2023. We booked a standard city view king room and were upgraded to king room with marina view because of our Marriott Platinum Elite status.
This hotel has an amazing interior design, great views and one of the best pool areas (I agree it's the best part of the hotel) I've ever experienced in a hotel. Not to mention a pretty good breakfast buffet. The parking though is a little claustrophobic and lacking in space and maneuvering room, though given that seaside real estate is in short supply, there's probably not much they can do about that. That one achilles heel aside, this is the best marriott hotel I've experienced overall, I'd just choose to uber there if I went again. Grand Hyatt Manchester, Marriott Marquis, Hilton Bayfront, the 3 titans of the San Diego marina.
Hilton bay front has epic good views and was solid overall, but I did not eat there for breakfast due to having a craving for 85c bakery that morning. So I couldn’t tell you about the food there.
