This video shows the introduction and a bit of gameplay from "Mars Saga", a science-fiction role-playing game from 1988 created by Westwood Associates (later Westwood Studios) and published by Electronic Arts.
This video shows the U.S. NTSC version of the game, as it was the platform designed for.
Having crash-landed on Mars, your job is it to find out why contact to one of the Mars cities has broken up. Difficulty level is medium-hard, because of random enemy encounters already within the first city.
In theory it should be serious, but this game has slapstick qualities. You recruit your party in the city's bars. They die like flies due to random encounters within the city, and what do you do then? You drop their dead bodies in the city's bar, and in the same bar again recruit the next unlucky guys and gals. Hilarious!
Well, if you disregard such funny stuff, the game itself is nice.
