Phenomenal speaker. I use it with my Kemper profiling amp (aux). Bluetooth works well, but Apple Music won't play through Alexa on this device, which is kind of misleading.
@@shorty8174 Alexa works via an app on your phone. I don't remember if it worked with voice commands without Alexa, I've not owned it for quite a while
Hey Dan, I’m thinking of buying one of these I’m confused between Acton II and stanmore II And whether google Voice assist is worth or normal Bluetooth version...
The assistant isn't worth it, it tied to your phone via an app. It's not a true built in assistant. I've not used the other one but I was impressed with the sound from this
decent review indeed although I would have thought that this speaker was designed for those liked rock music more than EDM.... Having a Bass and Treble controls, why would one use a frequency equalizer on an App...? And is your model a the first version or two (?) as I saw it with an actual on / off switch recently in Europe.
We have this- its epic BUT the whole Alexa thing is f#$%ing up the whole experience. The crap thing is... it cost more to get one of these WITHOUT Alexa. We cant find the microphone to stab it and kill that b$&@ for good. She freaking goes off all the time.... driving us crazy. There should be a way to deactivate the microphone but there isn't. Get an older model without Alexa or chuck up the extra cash to avoid it if you are like us and dont need/want that freaking thing in your business 24/7. If anyone has figured out how to disable it with doing damage or where to find it to do damage to it, please let me know! Upsate... we reached out to Marshall and there is a way to deactivate Alexa. There is a small button in the back that turns off the microphone.
Just wondering how well Alexa works when comparing it to an Echo? I've been reading mixed reviews on how well it works! Can it run Alexa Skills, does it provide notifications like Amazon deliverys etc?
Sadly I don't own this anymore so I can't test that out. It worked with basic Alexa voice commands but that was as far as I go. I'm predominantly a Google user
You can. I use it without Alexa. TBH Alexa connectivity is absolutely trash on this device & doesn’t even work for me. I kinda wished it did since these were originally going to be cabinet speakers..
