I really like your speaker reviews because you not only cover all the speaker features (pros and cons), but you also provide sound comparisons that helped me decide for myself which sound qualities I most enjoyed! I originally found your Marshall Willen review on Amazon, then decided to look for your other portable speaker reviews. After listening, I decided on the Emberton II rather than the Willen. Thanks for your reviews!
Thanks for this review! I have the original Emberton but the charging port kind of broke so I was thinking of getting the second one but I don't really need the equalizer (and prefer not to have an app for it). The second one looks awesome but I think the first one is still good too. Thanks again for sharing the comparison!
Thanks! Already have 3 Embertons and was wondering if this would sound much better, worth upgrading. Not gonna now! Don’t care about stacking and 20 hours is already long enough! Cheers!
@@bhartiyamemesena546 Both my daughters use one and are really happy with them… so don’t think they go on sale soon… sorry bro. Maybe they will be in a sale or discount soon because of the new one!
I have 2 stanmores and an emberton. They all sound amazing but the sound that comes out of the little emberton is freaking amazing. I carry it everywhere. I even use it in my car. The battery life is super long. I want a Woburn really bad.
Currys do the Woburn 2 I've got one the sound quality and the bass is a amazing and it's that good as well I keep my bass off at all times don't really need it on and it's still got alot of bass with it off and it's very powerful to I can't turn the volume all the way up too loud and no distortion either at full volume but very very loud to so just be ready I love mine I would never get rid of it I'm set for life with my Woburn 2 speaker perfect
@@leecollier485 I’m happy to hear you say the Woburn 2 is plenty loud. I’ve seen a couple reviews that say the Woburn 2 wasn’t as loud as the Woburn 1. I want something to blow me out of the room! I can’t wait to get one.
Walmart released a speaker resembling the emberton called the Onn WiFi medium speaker with airplay2 and Bluetooth. There’s actually 3 sizes small, medium, and large. They look so much like Marshall speakers but all with WiFi ,ap2, and BT.
These speakers in my opinion have very poor front soundstage. They have their 360 degree music throw trick if that’s something you need but for front listening they are lacking. However at least this new one has access to the Marshall app which appears to allow you to turn off the stupid auto off feature. I favour the Sony SRS-XB33 over this Emberton.
You're the reason I bought Emberton I. Loving it. Question, I've been think thinking to get Yamaha HS8/HS7. Idk who to ask, how HS series sound different from Emberton? Apart from their power or size or portability, I just love how Emberton sound. But afraid if they sound differently.
Uhm I’m not sure how u could compare a little Bluetooth speaker with studio monitors. The hs8 sound really good but the Yamaha will have a much flatter eq, which is great for mixing music. I’d expect it to be clearer than the emberton but perhaps not as warm.
Emberton II is not IPX67. The measurement is IP67. The X after the IP just means that there's no measured value for dust resistance. So the 6 replaces the X in the Emberton II's measurements
Hey Danny, Been planning to buy a Marshall speaker for a while now but I'm confused between Acton 2 and Emberton. Can you suggest which is better? BTW love from India!!!
Thanks for the review. Can you please advise if: 1) the turn-on sound can be disabled in the app? (I read that you can do this in the three dots menu of the device) 2) can the automatic turn-off time be changed in the app? I just got the I version few days ago and though I love the sound, these two issues bother me so much I'm thinking of returning the device. I'd happily buy the II version if the app can help fix these things. Thanks.
Checking... EDIT: ok checked the Marshall Bluetooth app and there is no feature that I can find that allows you to either disable the turn-on sound (maybe apple is different since I have android). There is no auto-turn off timer adjustment either. So for now I'd say no to both. This would be awesome for Marshall to consider adding though since this speaker CAN be updated if they'd program that in.
That’s why you shouldn’t buy technology when it’s on sale. They only put stuff like that on sale when a new one is coming out. Everyone is marking down these speakers.
I bought Marshall emberton 2 but this speaker is giving me thought time it doesn't play under medium or high volume and sometimes it get crashed and turn off
Is it worth to wait a month for emberton 2 back in stock? Or I can purchase the 1? Seems like not a big difference between them. Thanks for your video, they really helpful.
Heya! I received mine yesterday, it really is surprisingly loud! Since you have both the Emberton and Emberton II, do you know if the physical specs are identical? The only thing missing on these speakers IMO is a strap or attachment point. I've seen a few aftermarket cases/sleeves that have such attachment, but they're marketed for the Emberton I and not the II. If they're identically sized, then theoretically they'd work for the II. Thanks!
appreciate the good thought! I'm not really one to dive too deep into if burn in is real or not, but the original Emberton here would definitely be burned in at this point, so if that's any consideration for comparing it to the new one :)
That's true, I've been experiencing the same with Emberton 2. It was out right flat when I got it 3 months ago. Now however the bass is evident and just as required
Hey Hulon! Thanks so much for the question: www.masayacompany.com/collections/mid-century-modern-danish-lounge-chairs If they ask you where you heard of it, be sure to mention me. I'm not affiliated with them, but yeah I love the chair too.
I had really bed problem with my emberton 1. Shutting down to early and being a massive pain to connect to. My laptop out-competed my iPhone 11 and 12. Never had that problem with my JBL charge 4. Sound and size was great though. Tempted to try the emberton 2 as I hope the app would help the Bluetooth issues?
I'd switch to the new II version only depending on the pairing mode. I use my Emberton mainly for the PC (sound from monitor is crap). So, would you test the pairing of two Emberton IIs, left and right, in vertical mode, as if "someone" asked you to emulate a work/play PC desk environment? :-)
@@DannyPops Maybe that sounds better, but I also use the Emberton for my laptop, it looks good and is easy for on the go. When Iam home I can use my High-End stuff, sounds crazy good, but I dont always want to turn on my whole High-End equipment just for to hear something on the background, so Emberton for me the perfect small speaker.
Is there a difference to the sound between emberton 1 and emberton 2 or is it just an upgrade to the battery life and other features? I wanted to know if the bass and volume has increased compared to emberton 1, I see a few reviews saying that the emberton 1 lacks a little in base and max volume.
Good question, so it's really the same at default setting. The EQ mode has a push mode that's boosts the bass and Highs a bit, but not a significant difference. The emberton is not super bass heavy due to its size.
@@DannyPops thanks for clarifying, I think I would go with the original emberton...here in india its like a 65 usd price difference right now, I think I can skip the extra features
@@saurabhsingh4194 not yet, but it looks like it is about to launch at 19k...I prefer the emberton over flip 6 since from the reviews I have seen it does not seem to have clarity that emberton has and I am not looking for a bass heavy party speaker.
Maybe you can help me choose a bluetooth speaker for classical music. My budget is about 250€ max, so I probably need to get a portable type. I won't be using it outdoors, so water resistance and shock proof are not of high importance. The sound is what counts: nice bass, but does not need to make the house trembe: clear mid and high ranges. I especially listen to Renaissance polyphonic music and some symphonic pieces. For polyphony, I need a speaker that delivers very clear, crisp vocals. Stereo would be nice. There are so many speakers available now, so what do you suggest?
Have you considered the B&O A1? This is the speaker in your price range with super clear treble: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aFV5Sv7ndK0.html
In Sweden, you can get the old Emberton for 65-70 dollars right now. I have one already but would like to have one more downstairs.. What to do? I really like the pairing possibility of the emberton IIs.
Thanks for your video, my concern when I got the emberton I was that when I’m playing very soft tracks (let’s say classic music while I read on the lowest volume possible) the speaker makes a little noise like a bzzzzz that drives me nuts, does the version II do the same? It’s very low bzzz but still annoying do all version 1 make it? Thank you!
think you know a lot about bluetooth speakers. But as I often only listen to classical music at home with stereo system, your comment is not that helpful. The question of whether such a small Bluetooth speaker is at all suitable in comparison with the Streo system at home or is it just a toy for those who have no idea about music?
hey! Thanks for the query. I've compared the emberton to the JBL Charge 5 here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xbr4D0YF1gk.html it sounds exactly like the emberton II
Marshall emberton 2 o Sony Xg 300. The price its very close 😂 in my country and support sony yes. Marshall sound detailed and punchy bass. Sony sound very full and detail too. Maybe a little equalizer in the bass it's fine. I listen rock/metal/pop
Should I consider the sound link flex or the Marshall 2 I have never tried the streio mode in Bose So I was going to buy 2 soundlink flex but after Marshall 2 came out I was confused Do you think I should buy Emberton 2?
You can't. I buy a license to all the music I play. That's why most of it is usually not very good. For this particular video I paid a lot more for this classic.
@@lukabosnjak3829 maybe cause I've never heard this new Uboom L compared to other competition ... I only saw them at Oluv's Patreon but I'm not a subscriber ... So my expectations are also High about this new release from Earfun as it was also tuned by Oluv
seems like all Marshall speakers sound like an old radio. In my opinion it's overpriced and sound quality of JBL is better. More bass and clear. Marshall on the other hand is more vintage, very soft, and reminds me old speakers from 1990. What do you think?
I have watched several reviews of the JBL Flip 6 and JBL Charge 5 on RU-vid, and the consistent flaw I have heard with these speakers is that the treble sounds harsh on both of these JBL speakers. I like the bass on the JBL's I just can't get past how poor the highs sound. Everyone has a different take on what sounds good, I get it.
@@DannyPops Hey Danny I watched your latest video on the ME2 but you didn't mention it. Did you by any chance get to test this? There's a real huge gap in the market for rich clean minimalistic Bluetooth PC audio. Hence why people like me are looking at speakers like this to see if they can fill the void.
watch out for fake ones guys! got one yesterday!, get my money back ofc but hope the source gets punished. Anyhow, if it looks off... you can find comparisons online to check whether you have an authentic one of fake. Yeah, also the sounds is pretty damn different and worse ofc.
