The Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555X has been on my list of amps to check out for a while and it does not disappoint. I'd go as far as to say it's my favorite Marshall. It retains the punch and balls of an 800 (though just a tiny bit less) with added gain that sounds much more lush than a JCM900 or JVM to my ears. The master volume has a really slow taper making it easier to get good tones at quieter volumes. Tried to pick out some riffs that would showcase the 2555x. Riffs galore!

Fluff, have you recorded or messed with the Suhr reactive load (or the ir one) ? He may have or have not used one here.....but almost all of the best tone demos I’ve heard use one....This tone here sounds considerably thicker than other demos I’ve heard......sounds really killer.

I owned this amp when back in ‘97. I was 19 and didn’t know what I had or how to use it. Traded it for a Hughes & Kettner Attax 100. I dedicated my life to building a time machine since. I’m going to stop the trade and punch myself in the sac!

Lol i wouldn't be too harsh on myself.. Slash is the only reason this amp got famous in the first place...it was more about him rather than any other aspect .. ie In terms of sound it's pretty standard..

A few years after I started playing I was in the market for a new amp. I went to the music store not really knowing what I wanted. I played through a original 1987 Silver Jubilee. The store owner talked me out of it and he pushed me towards a Sunn Stagemaster solid state. I remember him saying that tubes were on their way out. I’ll never, ever forgive him for that.

I remember that era. A lot of people actually thought that tubes were a thing of the past. Tubes were hard to source. Every manufacturer has their own take on what they claimed to be a tube sound, but none really nailed it. After that modeling amps can out, then people seemed to have gotten back to tube amps.

One of the best Marshall tones I’ve ever heard on RU-vid. And you did a great job playing riffs that play to the amps strengths. You’re hell of a rhythm player that knows how to dig into the strings and not make the amps gain do all the work to make things sounds aggressive. It’s also refreshing to find an amp demo that isn’t just dad rock A-chords and blues licks or the other extreme of generic chugging and 8 string djent haha.

i do SO AGREE with you!... does it play stuff that is NOT metal... or blues riffs / shredding but riffing... so in love, instant sub! when ppl play, most are probably not solo masters but play riffs / chords and amps just taste different with this than soloing :)!

@@ZachWish I've just seen the other video with the jcm 800+wiz Leopard...what can I say? you nailed also that riff, the attack is super defined, i guess Jerry Cantrell used a modified 800 for that riff...so the tone is really close with the wizard in front of the amp. Now thats a great demo , badass riffing man !!! 99 ways to die . Is it just me or when i think of the marshall sound , i think of THAT sound . For palmuting , powerchords , punk rock , thrash metal , i can't imagine a better amp . One of the best amp demo ive heard . Ive heard JCm 800 demo sounding thin , lacking something , but most of the 2555x demo never sound thin . Thats an amazing amp you have here !!!!

Yeah super cool amp! Did a bunch of recording with it. It's the standard 25/50 2555x reissue. Probably a 2019 or 2020, something along those lines. Hope you're doing well man.

Great demo man. My 50w jubilee is hands down the best (practical) gigging amp I’ve ever owned. I was hoping to see you do some 60’s and 70’s rock with the rhythm channel with the clipping engaged. THAT’S the real hidden gem this amp has...a slightly tightened up 50w Plexi with a bit more gain.

I was torn whether or not to throw my gaming playthrough stuff on my channel or just create another channel for that stuff but since I have no plans to monetize my stuff, I just put everything on the channel. Hyped as HELL for the new DeS remaster. If I had one suggestion for your demos, I would play around with a room mic to see what sort of blend you can get. Sometimes direct mic is best and other times, I've found mixing in a little (or a lot) of room mic can add good depth to the sound. Each video I've done has been different. Some get next to none of the room mix and some get a lot and a couple have gotten almost all room. I just recently made a 3D audio mic setup with a styrofoam manequin head and mic's mounted into the head with some latex ears typically used for headphone storage but the sound is nuts from that setup. My "in the room with the 25 watt plexi" was one I did with that and no direct mic. Now Ola is trying it :D
