I literally JUST finished rewatching his set vs Light. Crazy timing on your end. His use of jab 1 to check for up smashes was especially insane.

He got top 50 only attending 3 events that founted for the rankings last season. If Marss competed more, he'd unquestionably be top 10 imo. No shade at all for him transitioning to more of a content creator, it's the more financially stable career path, so I don't blame him for it. Just sad that it means he's competing less

I feel like at the end of game 2 when marss was running up against lights shield you didn’t talk enough about how he made sure to spend as much time on the back of lights shield as possible so if he were to up smash out of shield he’d either get hit by the weak hit or just block it because that part comes out later which just furthers the pressure and I just think that’s so smart

I've been watching Marss for a bit now & I firmly believe he's the smartest smasher out there. The way he casually breaks down options during sets is not short of genius. Not only is his adaptability amazing but he never gets into "habits". ESAM is correct that Marss is one of the least predictable players. He's so fun to watch & I hope he attends more tourneys.

The thing about marss is that no two stocks really ever look the same. It always looks like he killed you with something he made up on the spot and you just have to hold that.

Marss will always be a dark horse contender as long as he actually goes to the tournament. I think he mentioned taking a little bit of a hiatus on twitter or something after placing 7th. But whenever he returns he’s always one of the most fun to watch player (even when he camps out Steve lol)

Obviously Marss was playing really well but it felt like Light was just not at his best, I’ve watched so many Light sets and have never seen him miss that many up smash confirms or just that many up smashes in general
