There are all of the brands from the Limoge. You may have heard of Bernadaud, Haviland, Philippe Deshoulieres, Royal Limoge. They specialize in porcelain or fine china as the Alsace region has the purest feldspar in the world to make it from. It gives a very bright white appearance. Most Formal English China is made of bone china. It incorporates the ground bone ash of a steer which gives it a calcium tint that gives translucence and glows the color of milk in candlelight. It's also very durable though porcelain can be just as strong when kilned at twenty five hundred degrees as bone china is. Other porcelain china is kilned at nineteen hundred degrees. Porcelain china baked at twenty five hundred degrees is called vitriose china. That's still strong dinnerware particularly compared to stonewhere kilned at sixteen hundred degrees and earthenwhere which is rather fragile and cooked at twelve hundred degrees. If you have tea cups with handles that don't rise above the rim of the glass you can turn the cups upside down and stand on them with hard shoes on. Also consider most of Rosenthal's classic patterns as well as Dresden. Also consider Royal Copenhagen of Denmark who have some of the longest running patterns and skills in the industry.
