My grandmother would add a couple of mashed bananas to the egg & sugar mix before tempering. This step adds the natural banana flavor to the custard itself in addition to the sliced banana layer. Has anyone else seen this done? Just curious, Blessings to all💞
I've just made this custard and had a little taste before setting it in the fridge to chill. I've made custards before but not completely like this. So far, it's delicious! I can't wait to assemble the pie!!
Banoffee Pie 🥧 is a nice variation on this recipe. A simple pie shell (flour 1 and a half cups, icing sugar 2tbs, butter 80g, egg yolk and cold water 2 tbs) rub butter into dry ingredients to make crumbly mixture then add wet ingredients. Knead until soft and refrigerate for 30 mins. Roll out and line buttered 24" fluted pie tin. Fork the base all over. Refrigerate for another 30 mins. Cover with baking paper and fill with rice or dried beans. Bake blind for 20 mins. Filling (sweetened condensed milk 395g, butter 40g, syrup 2tbs, brown sugar half cup). Melt everything and stir for 10 mins until smooth and caramelly. Cool. Pour into cooled pie shell. Top with a layer of bananas and light whipped cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Refrigerate. Eat.
Okay I made it. It was delicious too sweet even tho I cut down 1/4 cup a sugar it was still to dam sweet I would take 1/3 cup off now BUT because of the 1/4 I took off it wasn’t as dense but I would definitely recommend this recipe it was easy and delicious
So, how many % of fat has „heavy” cream? Sory but in my country everything is in percents so mostly cream for desserts have 30 or 36%. Which arę you using?
Why on earth are you looking to this narcissistic criminal for advice about anything? She is a liar. A privileged, wealthy liar in the united states who got away with it
@@ritarobinson6944 you just don’t have sense of humor! I’m very sure, by watching her over the years on comedy shows, Martha would find it funny. I’m sure someone already used that with her.
Crust crumbled and fell apart.( time you state in oven is much too long. ) Too brittle. Pudding middle was ok but still not firm enough to cut a piece of triangle shaped pie. Tastes ok, but a mess on the plate.
She says she likes that way. Everyone does not like MERINGUE, (proper spelling). I for one hate it and whipped cream, and remove them from desserts that have either on them.
