check this out, I think this link might explain more about the absolver game ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YlMCeO-wpYE.html and if you could please, do a reaction over it. I would like to hear your thoughts
I really wished you guys showed more then just a few styles. When there is like 6 to 8 of them in the game. It's fun but it also is a loot for your strength/speed/defense type of clothing also. Plus you can have a weapon of choice also.
@@Ljoose I meant that a character did one before he said that, in that game, a feint is when you attack and press block before the attack lands, and a silhouette of your character does the attack to fake them out.
YESSSSS!! Finally! To give some info. In Absolver, you fight different opponents to learn their attacks. After learning the strikes and kicks, you can change your fighting style with countless different moves.
not that fast you must win batyle with oponent when you learning his moves to actualy learn it. If you run away or loose youre lose all progres which you colect in this figth
@@lordcloaker8267 that's typically called a speed deck. They're very inefficient at higher level play since most people that realize what you're doing will just drain your stamina and then kill you. it's a new player stomper basically since a lot of people will repeatedly try to dodge instead of just waiting you out.
Fully customizable mix and match fighting system that was definitely fun to play around with, sadly people would often gang up on you in the open world.
One of the reasons why I'm considering dropping out of it because while I don't mind fighting other players in honorable 1v1 fights most of the time I rarely get the awesome honorable 1v1 fight I like and am forced to fight in an unfair gang-up situation caused by dishonorable douchebags.
@@derrickhaggard there is literally an entire 1v1 pvp playlist. But you're going to get your ass handed to you until you get some good practice in. Why would you try to start a 1v1 in a giant overworld filled with enemies?
Honestly it is what makes the game most fun to me, beating a 1 vs 2 is so rewarding, and you can always run away and use weapons and run into other enemies.
What I love most about Absolver is the random encounters you can have with other players. It always brings a smile to my face when me and someone else just have an unspoken truce whenwe have an enemy in our screen, but we could request to fight soon after. Never have I met a person to didn't revive me after they defeat me. It's so wholesome.
a few things that made me fall in love with Absolver: 1: the fact that (last i checked) the dev's did a LOT of research into each style available in the game to make them as accurate to the fighting style IRL 2: the pure customization in both how you deck out your character and how you manage your characters combat deck, you get full control over selecting the different moves from different styles that you want to use, if a move is able to chain into another move you can set it regardless if one attack is drunken then kung-fu then back to drunken, doesnt matter you get full control aslong as the attacks are able to chain (up to from memory 4 in a chain per each of the 4 stances (the bottom middle theres a sorta diamond broken into 4 sections with RT over it, thats the stance changer) and you can freely switch to different stances to continue your chain and 3: the mastery levels, as in if you practice a lot and work on timing and the right moves you can master your custom or even preset (as in choosing only drunken fist or only wing chun or whatever floats your boat) moveset then you would 99% of the time have the upper hand, I cannot count how many times in pve and pvp i was able to kick peoples teeth in because id spent time learning and practicing the timing on my moves (youll notice some attacks dont have an effect while others have this golden glow, thats the perfect timing marker, it means you hit the attack button as the last hit landed perfectly chaining your attack, i think it does a little more damage, uses less stamina and deals more stamina dmg) a side note is the reason those guys didnt do a lot of blocking was because they are obviously highly skilled players you tend to want to use your abilities or dodges (i cant remember if you can parry by timing your attack right or not, its been a WHILE since i played) rather than blocking because once youre out of stamina you cant block, dodge, use abilities or obviously attack leaving you vulnerable until you have enough stamina to fight back, stamina management was one of the most important things in the game aside from setting up the perfect moveset ofc
I haven't played in ages, but I remember there being certain moves that abused the opening put on an enemy you just blocked; though I didn't really use that as I was more inclined to build a meme autocombo with awkward mix-ups built in
@@carlo2038 I don't really believe they did, the game just never took off as it should have, when it was free for PS+ users it had a lot of players coming into it for the first time and Veteran players likely coming back for fresh meat to teach or beat up, they also released the Bruce Lee martial arts set a couple weeks later sadly the game is barren now, areas where I would see 3 or 4 players run through every 5 minutes is now empty, practically everywhere you go you would see atleast one or two people on your way through regardless I can only hope we get a second game or that they do a massive expansion but that's pretty unlikely, Absolver is an amazing game with a pretty decent story and a unique gameplay style which made it fun and I'm not someone who gets a lot of enjoyment out of PvP focused games (as once you beat the story you kinda only have PvP and co-op content left) but I really enjoyed jumping into a duel be it in free roam or in the arena and kicking ass pretty hard against even probably veteran players who spent a LONG time practising and I'd walk in fresh from having mastered perfects just to kick their teeth in, I'm certain I lost a few times but I never felt angry or cheated, if I lose in another game it's because of some bullshit that renders my moveset obsolete or because of some meta bullshit but in Absolver? losing means you actually got outplayed by someone better than you because you CANT just spam and if I got beaten I knew it was either sheer dumb luck or because I legit got outmatched, fighting new players I sometimes got beat or NEARLY beaten because they don't know how to play so they just start button mashing the second you get close (also they always start fights, pretty sure one time this kid ran up and started a fight, kicked his ass for being an idiot then he came back like 3 times before he ran off) it's still on you if you fail to counter them so the game never felt like you were being cheated
@@scrubaatividya I have the game on PC and I just played for a few hours and found around 5 or 6 players. I'm level 27. Fortunately It's not completely desolate. If I hadn't played in a long time I might have guessed it has to do with the release of Sifu, but I don't think it does. Whenever I play, I find a few players, and I honestly prefer finding a few of them than finding a whole crowd. Absolver has a sort of spiritual atmosphere to it, like a warrior's journey. And finding too many people I feel takes away from that.
He was an Absolver RU-vidr a while back, he stopped uploading Absolver content because the game is dying and he was getting less and less interest on these vids, you can check him out tho, Ocandersis on YT, he es, in fact, italian
In Absolver the player can create a character and build it's own moveset by "absorbing" damage from it's oponents but the game indeed have some preset fighting styles that you can mix and match however you want
My favorite part about this game is that there isn't a definitive "fighting style". You can quite literally create your own . You have to defeat other people with moves you want to learn so that you can also learn them as well. There's more than a hundred of different and unique moves you can learn that allow you to adjust your fighting style to your liking. Sadly the story mode is pretty short and can be completed in about 6-8 hours, so that led to a loss of players.
All the moves are pretty cool and they're relatively high tier but like... No one showed them the most superior move in the entire game... *The Calbot.*
This has got to be probably my favorite "fighting" game that came out in 2017. It's so intuitive and it is honestly the perfect game if you grew up on kung fu movies back in the day. Sadly, not many people stuck to it. I hope more people find this game soon.
For someone who was playing absolver at launch and preordered it. I love that people are noticing it again. It’s a fantastic game, spent 2 years only playing this game on PS4 it’s still fun to this day.
It's AMAZING to see professionals enjoying the game so much. Wish Absolver had had a larger impact and better development over the years. So much potential 😢
The game is a 7/10 on Steam and GOG. I tried finding an alternative, but it seems to be the only one of its kind. The most similar would be the fighting parts from Sleeping Dogs, a game called Overgrowth, and an older game named Jade Empire.
@@KuneshFromSkalitz MMA games try to make fighting look as real as possible. When I wrote there aren't alternatives, I was thinking about games that have movie-style fights.
The unique part of this game is that as you learn more moves by encountering your enemies, you can design your own combo (as in you can select which part of which combo will do which attack).
Came out a few years ago. The "single player" is pretty short and you can run through it all in a short time but the appeal is the taking what style you want and making things your own. The 1v1 fights were kinda fun but I remember when playing something really turned me off the game so I stopped It came with ps plus about 2yrs ago and I always planned on buying it beforehand but never got around to it so downloaded it instantly. Not really for everyone.
Yeah, it’s a little misleading when put like that considering the capabilities of video games. But yeah, you can dress your character however you want, gender, skin, hair, even combat style (if you master all of them). The masks are kinda what you can be known for. And yes, they are totally correct. As someone who’s practiced 5 different martial arts spanning over 15+ years, I can say that there are definitely martial arts roots
It's so surreal that such a large amount of people watched a vid of Absolver that was uploaded so recently. So as small as the playerbase may be I sincerely recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played it yet, wait for a sale on pc or get it through the game pass, because i honestly have nothing but love for this game and it's tiny community.
Thank the Lord someone gave this game the exposure that it needs. One of the best games made but didnt have enough advertising and content to stay active. Love it
I would LOVE to see that, since it uses actual fighting styles for a lot of its characters. You know, before it turns into a show about punching demigods
@@fransuke12 Lol, great response kid. Maybe once you get older you'll find out how to talk to people. Have fun getting shit on with your attitude till you do
These guys could probably single handily bring back tons of players to this game I’ve been playing it non stop for about 3 years now and that really is just super fun I’m hoping more people see this and decide to give it a shot
So... I was thinking about buying it resently but i have no idea about it current online state. Is it still playable? I've read that offline isn't that good and i need online to get the full experience.
YES!!! I'm so glad Absolver is getting a bit of a spotlight, the game is amazing and altough does have a few set backs is one of the best games i've ever played, this video might draw in some new players and I hope it does
What better ad for Absolver than a video of two seasoned martial artists and action performers singing this game's praises?? God I want this game so BADLY
Love how he picked up the game so casually by watching this, feinting when to block and even critiqued them for not blocking properly. Bruh this dude must be #1 in this game now
Absolver was a great idea, but was sadly ruined because of people ganging up on others (3 v 1’s are never fun, and the game does little to stop this from happening)
You do realize that you gain nothing from beating players in open world. The game focusses on reward for beating players in honorable challenges in matchmaking.
@@SaltCane yeah, and you do realize that nobody cares about that if you can ruin someone day by just ganking? because thats how most open world pvp games works
This is my favourite martial arts game... I am also a martial artist and I kinda tried to reproduced my own fighting Technics into the game and it worked... 🤸
Considering you CAN make your own characters (yes Yoshi, you were right) I would love to see an episode where they both make Absolver characters and try an online versus Match with each other.
Wow didn't think I'd see absolver one of the mmmmost underrated fighting/open world/adventure games I remember getting it for free on playstation if u had PlayStation plus it was free back in like 2018 it was free it was pretty short honestly not really short but I'd say I can finish it in like 2 or 3 days I hope they make a absolver 2 I liked the concept
I don’t know why I didn’t think of this game when watching these guys examine other games, because it’s one of my favorite beat ‘em up games. The Combat is satisfying if you play smart and can avoid getting grouped up on.
Extremely underrated game. You can customise your characters and your moves are made from combat decks which allows you to choose which attacks your character use and link moves together as you see fit.
you can choose your fighting style and customize your move set for each stance. each fighting style has specific moves but there is also a pool of basic moves you can use and mix with the style you choose.
I miss Absolver, such a fun game. I remember sitting there for a couple hours just going through moves to craft a combat deck. It's unfortunate that the game has essentially died, there are still some players on it, but not many.
The ducking double kick is called handstand kick, its alright if you use stagger (drunken master) but I never use stagger moves personally just not a fan of how they look . But yes game good and it needs more people playing it. Also I will be waiting around in guidance bridge if anyone wants to fight username EVILZJJR, honor all the way and all that
@@kurodo9926 ya imo stagger is over powered with moves like eye poke being lightning fast and an interrupt, hadrunken being a ungodly range check, ect. Personally im a forsaken/fejin main
Absolver is a lot of fun. Drunken style is a lot of dodging your opponents attacks. The guy using Muay Thai a lot has a style that is more of a push through, sacrificing health for super armor to trade with your opponent and hit them harder than they are. It’s a really fun game and you guys should definitely try it
I hope these guys get more Absolver. I think they'd love it, the deeper they dig into it! You _do_ choose your baseline style, and this determines your idle stances and which defensive skill you use (blocking, slipping, tanking, or shoving), but each individual offensive move is learned _by successfully defending against it enough times in the wild._ So every random fight, you've gotta stop and think, "Should I take my time with this? Do I have anything left that I can learn from you?" Many attacks are simultaneously dodges against certain other attacks. A jumping 'Superman' punch avoids leg sweeps while that Capoeira speed vault ducks underneath high attacks. That way, you're building your combat deck to balance speed, stopping power, and utility! Aside from the fact that 'turn your back on your opponent' is TWO stances in this game, I really think it's perfect for these guys haha :D
I know you prolly won't see this but, in less than a 1% chance that might see this. Maybe gets the experts to react to PS2 game called Urban Reign. It has great hand-to-hand and sword Martial Arts.
