Welcome to the Martial Arts Journey RU-vid channel!
My name is Rokas. I'm a Lithuanian guy who trained Aikido for 14 years, 7 of them running a professional Aikido Dojo until eventually I realized that Aikido does not live up to what it promises.
Lead by this realization I decided to make a daring step to close my Aikido Dojo and move to Portland, Oregon for six months to start training MMA at the famous Straight Blast Gym Headquarters under head coach Matt Thornton.
After six months intensive training I had my first amateur MMA fight after which I moved back to Lithuania. During all of this time I am documenting my experience through my RU-vid channel called "Martial Arts Journey".
Now I am slowly setting up plans to continue training MMA under quality guidance and getting ready for my next MMA fight as I further document and share my journey and discoveries.

I really enjoyed this. Inventing fictional reasons to have to physically defend yourself is 80% of being an MMA bro. Wish they invented more fictional reasons to have to physically defend a trashy girlfriend though to round out the rest of the MMA bro experience.

Can I just say now that it's over. I want to see Icy Mike in literally every reality game show ever. Like, imagine him on the Bachelorette having literally no romantic interest in the woman, working off of pure competitive drive, and inexplicably making it into the final round because the producers won't let him leave the show because he's too entertaining. Great work with the show Rokas!

Turn off your phone and computer and go and get some books. See if you can find out what the word "literally" means and how to correctly use it. Then, see if you can expand your vocabulary sufficiently that you are capable of adding emphasis without misusing the word "literally". If you do those things, you will find that educated adults are far more likely to take you seriously. I am assuming that you are above the age of eight. If you are not above the age of eight then just carry on as you are.

Mayor kudos to Mike and Ramsey for being the most disadvantaged throughout ( Mike being so much smaller than everybody else and Ramsey detailed all the things he was dealing with in his videos) as well as being the oldest and doing so well against beasts like Jeff and Seth. Hey everyone! Season 1 of USDC was a blast and I am happy to announce that season 2 has been confirmed, with a new line of participants including a UFC fighter, Jesse Enkamp (Karate Nerd), Ranton (Shaolin disciple), Jordan Teaches BJJ, a pro basketball player and Jeff Chan will be making a return. But there is a catch. Season 2 has to be filmed much earlier than expected, since the whole facility is going to be demolished at the end of the year, and the only way to get enough finances by then is a crowdfunder. So if you want to make season 2 a reality, consider supporting the crowdfunder here: www.indiegogo.com/projects/ultimate-self-defense-championship-season-2/x/19198666#/

@@derekvandenburg6689 at close range especially on the clinch, KO punches are hard to generate. Plus he's good at that range and he moves alot. Without safety gear, either one of them can poke each other's eyes out, without safety gear he could pull that armbar quicker, without safety gear either one of them can knee each other in the nuts, so it doesn't matter. End of the day he won, and the "without gear" argument can only be speculated. If we're talking about weapons and stuff none of them would be awake, but again, its just speculation. 1. It's awesome how much training sumo helped Seth in this competition. 2. I learned so much from this series. So many things that i was taught in isshinryu now make sense. So many small things my sensei told us. So many things that i didn't pay much attention to. Those things now make sense.

Things i learnt watching the USDC : Sleep is good for your health. Never get caught fighting in tight spaces. Don’t fight against armed agressor(s). Don’t fight alone. Don’t date a drama queen (even on blind date), plus MJ can certainly kick your butt… Don’t take a shower in a detention facility. Use the restroom excuse if someone hit on you in inappropriate ways. Ceiling hanging zombie ambuscades can screw you over. “In theory i can kick your (beeeep) head”

What an outstanding show. It was informative and entertaining. I would liken this show to the first UFC. Where the UFC showed us what techniques/styles work one on one in a ring, this showed us what works in real life. I loved every minute of it and am looking forward to season 2. Great job everyone. I really think you all just made history by being the first group to do this. I'll I'll be contributing to the GoFundMe for sure to see season 2.

the UFC fighter is Natan Levy btw not Wonderboy , him vs jeff wouldbe very interesting as well as his interactions with Jesse as both come from a traditional karate background. i think the Basketball player if he dosent have training will show how size and athleticism affects self defence which in terms of goal of the series would be useful as it displays how different people respond to self defence situations.
