Both of those are very fine guitars. The cuttaway to my ear has more reverb in the first part of the music that you looped and the fiddleback had thicker lead notes . Are those original tunes ? If so do you mind if i play them when i'm out playing live . Your performances are full of soul . You really love that jazzy midnight blues type of stuff . I'm lucky to have a martin d18 that sounds as good as your ones, thanks to a guy who works in a large music shop who alerted me when the best new d18 he had heard came in . I remember watching your video from the shop where you got the fiddleback and it sounded good recorded even on an i phone , so i instructed the fellow in the music shop to place his phone close to the guitar to keep room sound out and what i heard made me pull the trigger right away. I've never regretted that i'll tell ya ! Thanks for all your beautiful music and inspiration .
Rick in Marana, again... Am I being a pest? Your playing is so melodic... so beautiful! I'm going to watch all your videos.... I like the cutaway just a bit more. Both sound great!
They both sound great. I do think the 2016 sounds a bit thicker in the solo notes. Maybe it is the slight buzz. How are the xs strings? I am usually ej17 guy but those sound great. I think the fiddleback is nice and like that one a bit better but not by much.
Thanks Thomas! I agree. I think I need a set up on the Cutaway. Maybe time for a new Bone Saddle that's a little higher. The Fiddleback does not leave me wanting. Great guitar.
@@gair1944 I think I would adjust the truss Rod and see how that works. I have a strong height gauge and always do measurements of my Martins and keep them in the case so if something changes I can see what it was. I also make sure humidity is not the issue especially during heating season. I measure the relief and track that too.
