Just for the uncanny resemblance alone, this show is worth a watch. On top of that, the guy has clearly watched Elvis on Tour and That's the Way it Is a million times, and is trying to do what Elvis did with respect. That's commendable. He just needs to guard against looking like he's phoning it in. Started to feel just a little "paint by the numbers" with some of the moves. But hey, doing it night after night, it's bound to creep in, from time to time. Overall, this is truly amazing to watch, and you have to give Martin his due. Well done, sir!
Incredible presentation, the entire TCB Band is depicted, what a marvelous production. Martin is not Elvis, and he knows this, he is himself offstage and dresses normal and speaks French, he's an actor portraying Elvis onstage for a concert in the 1972 era. I have never seen anyone capture the mannerisms and actual Elvis stage moves as he has, he has certainly studied his subject, brilliant show.
I was also there that night and it was just like being at an Elvis show! I met with Joe Esposito after the show and he told me that this show was as close as you could get from the real thing! Wonderful!
Agree with you! From this camera's distance, he seems to actually resemble Elvis which I've never seen with an ETA, not to this extent anyway, but it is quite a ways away so I don't know about up close. Does not sound like Elvis though! Guess we can't have it all. His facial mannerisms and expressions do seem spot on though.
The band is effing ON IT! The clown in the suit ruins it. I've never understood why these hacks think that wearing a jumpsuit, and dying their hair black, makes it look or sound like Elvis. Best looking man that may have ever walked the planet, with voice that was unique and bless by God. Not to mention the charisma that he had in spades. People love Elvis so much, that these goobers get to live a fantasy of trying to be Elvis for a couple hours. I assume they are huge Elvis fans, and that's great. But you are not keeping his memory alive, no one will forget him. There are 33 films, 3 tv specials and his Graceland is open all year. If you love Elvis, these guys do nothing for you. It makes a mockery of the man and what he was.
