Martin Garrix In The Studio explaining how he created his UK number one and platinum selling club smash, Animals using Image-Line's FL Studio software. CREDITS Producer - Chris Barker Video Editor - Will Seelig Videographer - Will Seelig
@MLG this was his productions from like 5 years ago, he makes the best mainstream edm, forget hardwell, martin makes amazing tracks under his own name, makes amazing tracks under other aliases, and has ghost produced for other amazing tracks, fucking revealed fanboys just dont accept it
0:03 Your reaction when future magazine come to your house to see how you made your latest hit and you just remember that you used a cracked version of sylenth1
the thing with martin is, he admits his song is simple, his not ashamed of it lol sometimes with music it doesnt matter how easy it is to make but how creative it is, most iconic melodies ever made are simple
True, true and true. People are hating him for something every fucking "13 years old producer" do. Using samples. Wow if someone of these people that are young producers and get signed for ex to spinnin records, they would use samples for some months because they still needs to learn things. I am sure that Martin is producing original stuff now.
***** you know, i dont care if they use samples or loops or they make own sounds, i just want to listen to music, dont care if they get a lot of cash on a track made on samples or not, i just want to hear fresh stuff from my favo producers that all :P
KodackOfficial In the end of the day it doesn't matter if you use presets or engineer sounds by yourself since things will always get easier with time. Sure you can learn all the technical stuff if you want to but how I see it is that you only have one life, so if you want to learn all the technicality then to it for FUN because you actually are interested in learning it and having use of it. It's like getting to another location: sure you can walk there, but why do that when you can ride your bike to get there?
+Phonic Camper it's not what he wants to be known for. He said he doesn't like hearing it lol. He does the orchestra edit of it usually followed by the Botnek remix
So true. Everytime I'm thinking about how I started producing and love electronic music, it's this video. He changed the game he deserved everything he got since !
When sharing advice/opinions/ about schools and doing drugs: Turn your advice about schools around, PARENTS HOMESCHOOL you own offspring, cause the government ain+t caring and have clearly said that many times. About drugs? Correct here, stay away. But there is one big problem none of us take into account: TVs - the most popular drugs in every household. Daily watching TV = doing drugs daily. The MK ULTRA MIND CONTROL - search, soul, and start giving out real valuable advice. Stop repeating whatever the TV (most powerful weapon formed against humans minds) spreads. And souls, homeschool your offspring fully out from school programs or the home-schooling of yours and homeschooling at all. And youth, teach yourself, search. Once you received the basic knowledge (writing, reading, doing math) you then can go on on your own. Have hunger for truth/knowledge in you and nothing more is needed, for the tools computer and internet and books is available and in daily use any way. Evolution of Television 1920-2020 (updated) - the greatest weapon ever created. And as we promo the A. I and all the ways it can be used, we promo deceiving others and being deceived.
It actually is hard to do, the sounds quality in itself is impressive but then the sound selection as well, finding everything that fits perfectly is over half the battle. Doing it with stock plugins is near impossible unless you’re Martin garrix lol
I used to try to produce stuff growing up and I think it’s extremely hard. I can’t think of much stuff that’s harder to me. But i think I also lack talent for producing and never found the right approach for getting better at it even though I spent a lot of time
4:28 Thats the golden rule right there. When you stop judging your work based on how much time or effort you put into it, or how complicated it was to create, and start to just "like how it sounds", that's when things are heading in the right direction.
on the other hand it also led to the downfall of creativity in several genres. why even bother with creating something unique and distinct if you can use the same sample library than every other "hit producer" is using? why even bothering with coming up with ANYTHING on your own, just get a bunch of sample packs, put them together and be done with it?!
how to make 14 million dollars: step 1: buy a big room house sample pack step 2: make an unoriginal shitfuck of loops and samples, compress and distort the asshole out of it, and don't forget the pryda snare! step 3: either be swedish or have Lil John scream in your track. (both work just as well)
You can tell when listening to his songs that he makes chords, adds rythym to them, and there is his bassline. Then he matches the rythym with different notes for his melody.
2018: I see a young, nervous boy, who lives his dream... U don't need a lot of professional & expensive things to make the world dance ... The only thing u need is to love what you do Martin gives you the best example
0:03-0:07 when ur too high you cant even start the intro by looking at the camara
21:52 - 21:57 when the track is done & future music still stares at you & you dont know what to do
It's because it is? It was just leads with nothing else, obviously there needs to be production there for the song to be full lmao, idk what you're on about.
People are giving him so much hate for sampling or using sample packs....do you not realize that both house music and hip hop were created by combining samples and instruments together? It's not like he took a song, sped it up, and called it a remix. There's actual work involved.
This is how you sort out those that are not open minded and willing to take the extra step to play with samples and get sample packs with wacky sounds and turn those sounds into something like this you really gotta explore and try new things to even get noticed these days
most producers today don't even make original music right now, if there is name one, so why so much negative comments, he is doing something with his life instead of troll other persons on the internet
"how did u become one of the best producer in the world?" Martin: "I press some buttons" "ehm, yeah, you have, yeah" "put a shit ton of reverb" ahshhaha love martin ♡
Most people hate him because he puts "little effort" into his songs. And yet you praise the people who have there music ghost produced who don't even work at all on there music. Martin garrix has been making music for years that's why he doesn't have to put work into it, because he has systems that make things faster for him. Yes he uses samples but that's what they are for. People upload samples so other people can use them in songs. They aren't uploaded so nobody uses them. His music sounds good IN MY OPINION don't freak out. You all hate him and haven't gotten famous or recognition for your "original music" and most of you don't even make music who say he doesn't work so how would you know? Sorry for sounding like a brat, and normally I wouldn't comment but I just wanted to say something that might changes peoples minds. And if you're gonna comment "we don't want your opinion" then just don't comment :P
For me, I praise artists like Wolfgang Gartner, Deadmau5, Danger, Kavinsky, Chromeo or even (the gods) Daft Punk, I don't think those have ghost-producers ;)
I’ve been producing for 20 years. I do not understand how he gets that thickness in his leads and such amazing variations in his chords. But that’s why he’s the best.
I can admit that Martin Garrix was my inspiration and he is still one of my idols. I have used cracked softwares too when I have started on this path but now all I have is legit and after 6 years being a music producer,Martin Garrix is still my idol😁
0:30 *I'm just behind my computer and pressing some buttons* - Yep, that sums up the vast majority of EDM music.
there isnt "real" or "fake" music, music is music no matter how shitty or complex it is, it still a musical expression. When you dont like the simplicity of a genre... thats a totally different story.
His music is just a lonely bass line with a feint melody. Oh yes, I can only imagine the effort he puts in his tunes in an attempt to satisfy the mainstream.
The effort is all in his audio production, we could all be sitting with those giant samplebanks and wound't even know shit about fitting it together in a mix. Also the lonely bassline and the feint melody is in amazing and perfect contrast to his melodic and intense buildups.
haha, then what the hell are u waiting for ? start producing this easy music and headline ultra, or just live the rest of ur life, avreage bitching about succsesful people , cause admit it, deep down inside ur jealous :)
+what no lol I know I know. I'm just saying. These kids are hating on him but regardless of they're hate it his quality of music, he obviously did something right to get all this money.
***** he appealed to 18 year old jocks on molly who suddenly want to be part of this 'new music'. The argument isnt that hes not popular, obviously he is. the PROBLEM is that hes popular because he really isnt very good. hes great at stealing things though.
It makes me so happy and fascinated to see the process of making this iconic song..I use FL studio too, and had no idea something so LEGENDARY was made with the same software
No one noticed he's using a pirated copy of Sylenth 1? Licensed by Team Air? Lol i guess even rich people wont pay for certain things. Great song though
6:53 you can see that before this video he was working on the song"tremor" because of the file name "Dimitri Vegas Like mike & Martin garrix" lmao
this vid is from 2014 lol and i think its obvious that when u are famous u have a lot of money but, usually ,not before it so he had pirated it, then after succes he could buy it but thats to reinstall and a lot of stuff that producers dnt wanna do
I see a lot people say that martin garrix is not that good. well, take 2 minutes of your time to read this. I am a business management student from India and i am one of those people who wonder ever day "what the fuck am i suppose to do in life". I used to have the same thought almost 2 years ago until i went on a corporate educational trip from my university to japan where i saw Diplo playing at a club. After 15 minutes of pushing through people i made it to the front and i was amazed looking at him Djing and for the first time in my life i wondered "How is he doing that" and i instantly fell in love with digital music and the idea of making music through computers.I saw an interview of him in which he said that he used to work many jobs some of which were a school teacher and a subway waiter and he also said that he had literally no idea about music until he started Djing at the age of 23 and he had to learn everything from "scratch". "learning, practice and determination are the key" he said and said "Anybody can make music" and MAN.! I was blown away..!! So i got myself a DAW and started to learn everything from scratch and let me tell you it's tough.! damn it's HARD.!! i can't play shit yet..!! but i am determined and i am learning everyday. I don't want to be a star or something, i just want to be satisfied with the thought that I CAN make music. So with this i want to tell people that if you think Garrix's music is crap, why don't you try ? then you will come to know how tough it is. Peace .!
It's not that it's bad, it's just that is was pretty lazily done. I also produce music, but I've been doing it for years. Still, he deserves credit for the success of this song.
+KineX good to know that you have been producing for years. I was hoping to find someone who would give me some tips and help me in the learning process.
that's great bro ... even I fell in love with this digital music and instantly tried to learn something.... I've chosen Fl studio as the medium since 2 years I've been learning, practising and producing.... it's hard requires a lot of pateince to the sound you are after but still doin what we love is the ultimate dope shit
One thing I really like about Garrix is he shows his productions and says how he does everything, so many producers hide what they do incase someone does it better. Big respect for that
***** blah blah... so what and if any person was in "poverty" got the same recognition he did there would be another person like you mad at their success. shit will never end
+DeathlyHall0w martin wrote a peice of code called animals, it got aalot of attention, mark zukerberg wrote fb, maybe noit him but do you get it, maybe there are better peopole then mark but it iswaht it is
+DeathlyHall0w You can oversimplify every other genre by that logic. Rock is just a bunch of angsty teens strumming on chords, hip-hop is just generic beats and rap is a thesaurus vomiting. It's a lot more complicated than that.
