This song is an absolute masterpiece! You can hear elements of both artists in the song. The energy and synth from Martin, and the chord progression and overall melody from Zedd, it just meshes so well to the point of beyond perfection. And the lyrics too, the voice is so mysterious, yet it feels like you're being lured in and encouraged to "follow" the voice through the track, especially since the lyrics start in the middle of the song making it so distinctive. It's these small, subtle, and carefully crafted details of the song that makes me appreciate it all the more! It's awesome to hear something like this take me back to early-mid 2010s EDM
Almost 10 years ago Zedd was the dj who introduced me to the world of electronic music with his incredible songs that would change my world completely and thanks to that I could discover the music of Martin Garrix which I have been following since "Animals" and knowing that Zedd & Martin have always been friends obviously I like many fans always dreamed of a collaboration between the two and I can not believe that we have finally fulfilled this dream.
For me it's Tiesto but exact same story. I've been a huge fan of Martin since Animals and everytime he makes a new sound with another DJ it's just so goood !!
This goes nuts man. The energy in the drop, the clean mix, the perfect vocals, the beautiful chord progression.... the list can go on and on. The fans have been asking for some heavier Zedd productions, and here he is delivering. Martin's touch is all over this as well....What a tune
The melody, the drop, the vocals, the soft and hard transitions, the tiniest things that are unmistakably them but how well these things interconnect and match, everything about this is a masterpiece. I discovered Martin's music (when Animals was at its peak) through Zedd, knowing him back on the Clarity days, but never i would have thought that these two would become my favourite dj's, hardly even thinking of them collabing on a song. Still can't believe after a really long wait they made it a reality, and it was worth it. I'm so happy :'3
Love how they combined their styles! The instrument choices, chorus base, song intro style, violins, ticking clocks (easy one! Lol), etc. It's so amazing how well they blend together!
I showed the track to a friend of mine, and he said “it doesn’t sound like now a days electronic music”, then I replied “that’s what makes it special”. Im happy that on 2022 there still are djs producing good music, ty Martin and Zedd, u both are insane, and together magic!
That first kinda drop is where you hear martins style and the second you can clearly hear zedds influence. This is such an amazing track that really blends both together. Sounds like the original styles these artists have come from
I don’t understand how so many people want Martin Garrix to return back to his original style, and when he does they criticize him for not being original. You can’t have both.
It remembers me the golden years of Electronic music 2010-2016😢😢 Whena legend like Marty started, David Guetta and Dj Tiesto were the kings, Avicii who was in my point of view the Best of all, the olders were fighthing to continue in the top like Basshunter, Eric Prydz... Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero they were doing excelent jobs... Aayyy.... I would like to go to the past again... Exactly, I haven’t liked zedd in years. When he put this song up on Spotify I was super hyped thinking he was actually gonna start sounding like Zedd again….and then I read the description saying it was 10 years old, I got sad again. Oh well.
Okay, let me say something. Bringing in the vocals in the MIDDLE of the song created a significantly unique change of pace. I honestly wasn’t even expecting it, and when it happened it added some wonderful melodic atmosphere. In the most of positive of ways. Also when the vocalist starts hitting the “whenever it starts” line and gets all breathy, I got actual_fucking_chills man. This is an absolutely dope track. GG Martin and GG Zedd.
Dayum those 2012 ZEDD basslines are sick as fuck! It still works in 2022. The sonics were so iconic back in those days when this scene had just started to gain some momentum.
