I think you could probably edit this into a piece for your main channel. It touches on the idea of discovering the things that are already around you.... of missing what's present in the rush to get to a predefined destination (your gate, the security check point, the train, baggage claim, et al)... of taking a moment to reflect on the past before moving towards your own future.

My friends and I were in Atlanta once getting dinner and we were waiting for a person who was meeting us at the place so we went and wondered the streets and not 2/3 blocks away we stumble across this park named after MLK and then across the street was a fire and we walked across and found out it was an eternal flame set out for him and his tomb was just behind it...it was just such a cool thing to stumble across in Atlanta

My grandpa has a bat and the handle is taped just like that one is and I used to play with as a kid visiting him. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll have to check that out next time I fly through Atlanta.

I can't think of any good reason not to share this with a wider audience. (Next time you're not sure, don't feel rushed; let the camera linger steadily for an extra beat so that anyone who wants to can pause and read the plaque or study the picture. You can always edit out a few seconds later if you think it's too long. That said, there was a spontaneity and an emotion that would be hard to recapture, and which I found touching, so my vote would be to release this as is rather than re-shoot or file it away. It's a gem that need not be cut or polished or compared to something possibly bigger and better. Thank you sharing it. Joe Gill

Honestly, I (like a ton of other people on here as well, no doubt) subscribed to the channel for all the really cool slow-motion mechanics and ballistics videos. But this was genuine and interesting which is incredibly fitting for the philosophy of the channel. It's tempting to wear blinders and live in your personal bubble, but really interesting things like this mini exhibit are peppered throughout our comfortable habitats and ignored by the public en masse. Thank you for this little reminder of our everyday living history.

This is why I love your channels, Destin. You point out the little things that, while seemingly unimportant, carry enormous weight and significance and have a tremendous impact on our lives. Whether it be laminar flow or a small airport tribute to a truly great man, you encourage everyone to stop and smell the proverbial flowers. I enjoy airport exhibits. I'm one of those folks that can't JUST sit and wait for my flight (knowing I'm going to just be sitting for the next, however long); I have to wander around. I found the exhibit to Fred Rogers ( of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood ) in the Pittsburgh airport and was nearly brought to tears. (This was well before the documentary.) Finding these small bits of history or art or architecture is always nice.

I loved how other patrons started to glance, pause, or view the exhibit items more and more as the video went on. There are so many places like that airport I've never been to, but because of you and your video, I know it exists, saw some of it, and grateful to be able to tell others who I know travel through there.

We see so many monuments, places or even things named after very influential figures that we forget the small things. Seeing this baseball bat really makes me think about "He's just the ordinary kind of guy, just a dad fighting through life." and it hits me that anyone can be as influential as Martin Luther King, there is only the necessity of motivation and principle to do so.

I've also spent way too much time at the Atlanta airport. I've seen this exhibit before, but I'm sure there are a ton of exhibits I haven't seen yet. Atlanta doesn't have a laminar flow fountain though... Maybe they'll add that to the G gates when those get built?

I fly through Atlanta all the time and I almost never have to go to concourse E. This Tuesday, I had to take a day trip to Toronto and my gate was in the E terminal. I also stopped for a minute to look at the exhibit. It's pretty interesting, thanks for pointing it out.

Been there just yesterday and had a look at precisely that exhibition, funny that I now find Destin talking about that not more than 24 hours later. Always a good idea in ATL to not take the people mover and instead have a stroll around the walks between the concourses to check out what the airport has on display.

That's cool. Next time I have a flight through ATL, I'll look for it. Sadly, most of the displays in airports are just ads. Would be neat to have more of this on long lay overs

Hey destin my grandpa was their when Martin Luther king Jr. Was assassinated, he also went to high school with elvis at humes high school, and was at the million man March, and he was also an army dr. In vietnam and hes one of your biggest fans! He said if you wanna ask any questions he would love to answer them for you! Posting this for 82yr old grandfather.

I'm from Germany. Back in 2002 at age 14 I had the chance to visit Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth House in Atlanta. My Dad took me there. Back then i could not realy grasp what he stood for. Later at school we lerned about his legacy. The last school I went on, is actually named after Martin Luther King, and I was humble to be there and get an good adjucation and to know thet he was honored.

Don't let anyone forget that freedom of speech is to protect unpopular opinions that some people would be offended by, back in the day Martin Luther King jr was coming to prominence his ideas were unpopular but he was right and everyone now knows that.

I remember seeing some cool exhibits in an airport nearby when I was going somewhere, and now I’m thinking maybe I should go over there one day and go through security just to look at this kind of thing. The Seattle airport has some cool art stuff in memory of Native Americans. Next time I’m going someplace cool I should stop and look

You should come to Warner Robins, GA and take a trip to the Museum of Aviation right next to Robins AFB. It's the 3rd largest aviation museum in the United States Air Force behind the one at Wright Patrick AFB in Ohio.
