Martin Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in prison and three years probation, yet his notoriety continued behind bars. Shkreli reflected on his sentencing, expressing that he was initially threatened with up to 27 years. While incarcerated, Shkreli made headlines again for selling a rare Wu-Tang Clan album, "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin," for $2.4 million to an anonymous buyer. This album later changed hands, eventually being purchased by the collective PleasrDAO for $4 million. Shkreli has contested the intricacies of whether PleasrDAO truly owns the album. Fast forward to 2024, PleasrDAO has sued Shkreli, alleging he publicly played the album, an action they claim is illegal. Shkreli dismissed these allegations, explaining that he had played the album multiple times, both before and after the sale.

He's implying exactly what he alludes to at the end, that they bought a physical CD in its custom packaging, but that doesn't mean they own the music. Similar to how any of us could go to the store twenty years ago and buy a CD... It didn't mean we bought the music for 15 bucks, we just bought a CD. The way the album was sold, when he bought it from the producer, he bought the album, he's free to play it and do whatever he wants with it. When these other people bought it, they bought it from the person Martin sold it to, so third party if you will, and that means there's no way they could have had Martin sign a sale agreement with any restrictions on it. @@joojoobaw

These are the interviews that makes and made VladTv. Im glad(nopunintented) Vlad got this guy on, because for a while pretty much the whole speing Vlad was beatin a dead horse. No new, actually interesting guests, only wack new rappers and conversations with boosie, tk, yayo MJW, and because he has interviews those guys so many times andthey all talk about the same issues, it got very boring. And Im not the guy to hate on other peoples success, money etc, but in those convos Vlad talks/talked ALOT. And it started to seem like is Vlad himsel even motivated anymore to do good interviews,. It seemed like Vlad would need a vacation or do something to get his mojo back. And it still kinda seems that way. Quality over quantity. Its a great channel that listen/watch pretty much daily, so Vlad, remember quality and tone down a bit on what ypuve experienced and what u have and talking about the same issues with guests youve already jad on like ten times.

And CD's literally only have 10-40 year shelf life before they start rotting. Some shorter depending on circumstances.

@@AlwayzFresh yeah but you can rip an exact copy of it. With vinyl it takes a lot more effort and equipment and still won’t sound exactly as the master

He answered that pretty well I thought, without straight up describing what the contract of sale was. They thought they were buying full ownership of the “sole copy”, they were really just buying the original physical copy & he still maintained ownership of digital copies, of which he has many 😂
