I just happened to re-visit "Gladsome, Humour & Blue" on a cassette I kept, some 33years later... had a significant impact on me back then and still blows me away today! Its recording, engineering/production, prowess & musical spirit effortlessly sounds sublime even on an old tape played on a mediocre HiFi system.
Funny how our musical journey and memory unfolds... Being a massive fan of Prefab Sprout I'm only now realising he was on Kitchenware records. No wonder the recordings are of a timeless quality!
I agree, but today I`m glad that it wasn't a top 10 hit. Few people know about this incredible song, we are so so lucky, even 30 + years later. They were still performing live until about 3 years ago, amazing.
@@amc3 still going now! Martin's also doing regular Lockdown gigs. Two this coming weekend.facebook.com/events/s/martin-stephenson-lockdown-liv/1197668093907827/?ti=as
@@EmmaKnightleyNo1 Your so right Emma, it also has a massive lake border with Peru. Had never heard this song until my twin put it on a tape for me around 1989, loved it since and always will.
