I never heard anyone saying Pam was ugly. Remember she was getting all the guys on the show. Even Cole kept trying to hit on her. She was the best looking one and they dressed her so fly. All my friends had a crush on her lol.
I know they originally wanted to cast a fat girl, but Tichina was so funny in the audition. they cast her instead. I think they wanted to have a character to just go back and forth with Martin. In my opinion Pam is more attractive, but both women are beautiful!
I met Tommy back in middle school. He was a guest speaker and he called me towards the stage because I asked him “what would he think he’d be doing if he never got into acting”. He said something about him hoping he would be doing something for the community and not anything against it. Very cool guy. I’m glad I got a chance to meet him. RIP Tommy
Most ignorant people don’t realize dry hair is that dry - “Nappy” is what Slavers referred to our hair as - When we have naturally curly hair - Go wet your and condition it...
Mason Brandon35 people are entitled to their opinions and preferences. Does it really bother you so much that a person thinks a dark skinned lady is prettier than a light skinned one??? The fact that you even commented so rudely shows why the black race (unfortunately) after all this time in the us, is sooooooo far behind
He wasn’t a coke user or anything, he just smoked marijuana. and had a lot of mental breakdowns like every other celebrities . I believe he was battling with mental illnesses which was the cause of him running into the street . The fame seems good but it comes with a lot of problems
I feel like married with children is so underrated and unappreciated. Our list is basically the same except instead of Fresh Prince, I gotta throw Seinfeld in that slot
Jarrad Lavoie I won’t argue lol, Seinfeld was freaking hilarious! As far as Married with Children goes, yeah that’s show was ahead of it’s time, and it wasn’t racial at all. Every race (at least that I know) enjoyed that show. They were raw! Loved how they clowned each other all the time but at the same time kicked other people’s ass if they came at there family wrong 😂
Q. McHale They knew what the OP meant, and there still wouldn’t be a need for an unsung episode since Martin wasn’t unsung. It literally was the most popular show of the 90s
Listen. If you watch Unsung you know after the first two seasons they cover people that aren’t necessarily “unsung” so calm down. We need more black true Hollywood stories so I’m glad unsung does this
I miss the 90s so much!! Almost 43 yrs old ..& I still think the 90s, was the best era. Clothes fashion, music, movies, tv. Especially the early 90s! 😢
It sounds like I said "Cold" but I promise I was sick when I Narrated :( Cole was my favorite character. Also I fumbled the titles"In Living Color" and "Living Single". Cut me some slack 🥴
BLACK FEMININITY TV I think everyone understood what you meant I honestly didn’t realize it because it was such great content overall keep doing your thing 🤙🏾💯
I noticed you said "In Living Single". But i also know you're a human being. Ain't nobody perfect. Besides, its a teeny tiny little detail, we ALL know what you meant, and the video is really, REALLY good. I appreciated the knowledge you dropped. I LOVED this show growing up, but was becoming a teenager at the time the show was entering its final seasons so i was going out and doing school things, so I never knew how it ended or that there was drama!
Yeah pam was made out to be masculine and unattractive in the eyes of Martin and some of the side characters. Gina was always seen as beautiful (despite her big face 😂)
This is why I can NEVER watch season 5 normally. The first 4 seasons are fine for me, but it’s hard for me to stop thinking about all the trouble that occurred off-set. It’s very eerie.
@@kathleenfrederick6919 No it just seemed like it because of his behavior. Her best friend Tichina Arnold (Pam) can tell you *_they did not have an affair. Tichina is straight up. Tisha was engaged to Duane and complained about Martin to the executives who didn't do anything about it until she sued._* I remember hearing about what happened at the time. Even the rest of the Cast witnessed a lot of what happened.
Wow, yea I thought for all these years he was making passes at her and he eventually went to far and thats where it all started, but to know they actually was messing around puts a whole another perspective on what I thought🤔
He would abuse her after she would film scenes and was very controlling and gave her an ultimatum, him or the show. He was jealous of her success and poured those insecurities into not only her personal life, but her professional one as well. All of this is just coming out now though because of their impending divorce.
Martin falling in Love with Gina & her not wanting him back was his Karma for how he broke off his engagement to Lark Voorhies on national TV & announcing in the same breath he was engaged to another woman 🤷🏾♀️ ended up loosing it all. Pride goes before a fall ...
Never knew they had an affair. I always thought he was just advancing her to be a creep. Damn..he was in love and she basically turned away to pursue a marriage that we now see was rocky. Thanks for the video!
Don’t listen to Greg. You are right. He was at fault, after the affair he should’ve tried a few REAL conquest attempts to make her his girl. After they failed, he should’ve said: Ok then, this shouldn’t interfere with da show.
Agree, this one of them things that DON'T need to be touch or retouch PERIOD. You know they trying remake everything nowadays......that's how much they running out of ideas but wanna still make money.😒 originality just lacking all around.
I miss the 90s my daughter asked me the other “was it really a lot of black girl groups or singers” all I could think about was SWV, Brandy, Monica, Xscape, invogue, Whitney, TLC etc. Damn 😪
I didn't like the comment that was made at the end about the Cosby show. The Cosby Show was very relatable because it portrayed a black family that, although wealthy, they had real problems and taught Real lessons and showed issues that can occur in any family such as dealing with kids being exposed to drugs and alcohol, bullying, relationships, divorce, blended family, and discussed a lot about black history. Martin was totally different but was also relatable because it portrayed 4 black young adults that were best of friends living life , pursuing their careers but having fun while on their journey of pursuing a better life for themselves. Martin was a successful comedy sitcom, however we must always acknowledge shows that paved the way such as The Cosby Show, and opened doors of opportunity for other blacks to have successful sitcoms as well.
I also didn’t appreciate the dig at The Cosby Show. I come from a large family and although we were poor, that show was very relatable to me. They showed black parents who were in love and were raising their children modestly. I felt like my family was on TV every Thursday night!
Sad that Bill Cosby's heinous actions tainted most of the show. And although I enjoyed the show as a wholesome watch it didn't deal with real problems so much as upper class super happy family "problems". The Huxtables were an idealized family not exactly a relatable family no matter the class or family dynamic. The show Roc however is more what you said. However it was a good show and o agree it and other shows from that period deserve acknowledgment for paving the way for other iconic sitcoms.
Tichina Arnold could out sing Tisha Campbell ANY DAY. Tisha Campbell always sound like she was screaming. She can sing but she had nothing to Tichina Arnold.
@mysonne joyner i get what you're saying but saying Hip Hop isn't a large part of black culture is like saying jazz isnt its apart of black culture a very large part because it was made and created by black people in black neighborhoods, detailing black life thats what hip hop was about.. no matter what it is today i feel hip hop and black culture goes hand in hand.... it was like modern day negro spirituals when it first hit the scene..
My favourite episode is when Gina and a repairs guy climbed on top of a bed to fixed the air conditioning. Martin happened to be underneath, and he thought they were 'doing it'.
Yeah that one was hilarious. If you look at it again you notice Martin broke a good sweat when he beat ol boy up. That was clearly not in the script but it worked!🤣
Martin and Tisha were having an affair in real life. Martin wanted to get serious but Tisha didn't. Tisha went and dated somebody else and got married and it put a dent in Martin's ego. Also, the reboot isn't gonna work without Tommy.
It could. They just can’t replace him. His death would have to be written into the show somehow but they could definitely pull it off. There are so many other characters to work around it with.
There's something really beautiful in seeing Martin and Tisha connect in a positive way. I hope that they have both forgiven and let bygones by bygones ;D
"Remember The Time" episode when they were discussing how they first met; the scene when Gina fainted and Martin rotated that platform show across her. I was so done😂😂😂
I met Tommy amd hos camp in my casino in lake charles lousiana at the isle of capri. Man he and Roy Jones Jr were 2 of the coolest most interactive celebs EVER! I took Tommy and his people to the buffet amd we all sat down and ate dinner together for an hour or so. He spoke heartily to anyone who approached us. He was so inviting. I remember even his people didn't even try to distance themselves yet were more inviting asking me if i had any questions (I just started meeting celebrities at this job at the hotel and he knew i was a little excited) even offering me contact info. 2 of the coolest realist ppl ever. RIP my man...and thank you brother.
Bruh that's crazy I be thinking the same thing they kind of act alike too ppl didn't know that pac was also goofy ppl just always look at pac as a gangsta
My all time favorite episode. Lol. Favorite lines were: "Check the adams apple" and " Michael did you just hit me." Also Tommy to the dude with short shorts "You need Jesus!!!. Aww man classic! 😂😂😂
Well Martin didn’t lie Duane was soft. Sad story but never knew that they had an affair. So he was a lover scorned... Now isn’t it ironic they could talk now that she has divorced Duane...
I think Gina was with Martin way b4 she meet her husband it feels like one of those off and on again life time lovers (totally dysfunctional right) so when she says I want to marry this other guy Martin was NOT ready to hear that- and she used sexual harassment as a tool to end things.. My speculations of course
Martin was going through a lot of demons in the 90s, and has admitted to his part in his feud with Tisha in several interviews, but Tisha always tried to play innocent. Martin just wasn’t in love with her because she was his co-worker like she claimed so many times. They were sleeping together. It’s just very coincidental to me that when Tisha is going through a very messy divorce and has filed for bankruptcy, that NOW Martin is no longer psycho and she’s willingly participating in the Martin reboot.
Exactly! Her husband knew full well about the affair & was probably jealous all these years & would never allow her to have any type of relationship with him.
Martin was on coke bad look at the 1st 2 seasons then after that hes skinny with that dark ashy cast to his skin he looked bad a lot of the scenes made no sense. The jokes wasnt funny the older viewers will know plus word on the set that martin was mentally strained his wife dumped him for emmit smith he got banned from nbc they need to do a uncensored martin
Great video. Never knew Martin and Tisha had an affair but looking back, I'm not surprised because their chemistry was undeniable. That show would have ran much longer if Martin and Tisha had found ways to make it work.
I was watching those last couple of episodes yesterday and what I observed is that when Tisha was gone, Tichina’s role came to the forefront and got the shine she deserved!!
I remember sitting next to Tommy in a restaurant owned by Malik Yoba (New York Undercover for those who don't know) and friends on 42nd st in NYC, we chatted like we knew each other, had a great time.
Will forever be the best black sitcom in the history of sitcoms! What other show can you watch and still laugh like it’s the first time you’ve seen it!!? The chemistry between the characters were much appreciated! 1 luv Marty Mart ❤️
I LOVE THIS SHOW, and glad they could work things out. Most def shouldnt be a reboot, especially without Tommy. It was a great show, no need to mess up greatness.
It will forever be "old lady punk" 'cause Martin & Ms. Geri(Jeri Gray) was always running up on each other lol. I call my friend an old lady punk whenever she's irking my nerves.
