I remember in the very late 90s watching Anna in person at the Scottsdale, AZ tournament. Hingis was there also. Anna finished her match. I saw her later walking around in a ropped off area. Her hair was down. She was the most beautiful woman i had ever seen. And I didn't even like women that way. Ill never forget that beauty I saw in person.
Kournikova was underestimated as a tennis player. But it is true: she didn’t have to worry to much, because she had very lucrative commercial deals at young age. I remember her on a poster for a sports bra, that noted “only the balls bounce”..... Yep, she knew her value....
She was never consider a good tennis player. She was barely competitive at top level. Luckily for her, her looks and appearance made her won the jackpot with advertisement and Enrique Iglesias did the rest. Kournikova also lack the proper technique that Hingis or later on her time Sharapova had. She played well her cards and there's nothing wrong with it.
Anna just has that undefineable magic... She's beautiful and mesmerizing. U can't take ur eyes off her... Seems she could have done more with her life tho.
It's more Kournikova faults than Martina, she had wayy more tools on her arsenal and hold her own against the new era of power tennis, Kournikova couldnt Even lift a singles title
Kournikova obviously had a lot of talent otherwise she would have never made it to the top, but as you can see here, she gave up trying to be the best. I remember she said the pressure was just too much, while she just wanted to have fun with it. It started to feel too much like a job for her. And that's why it seems like she wasn't fighting to win. She really wasn't.
The one thing i think Anna has that matters the most is not her success at tennis but her success at having Enrique Inglesias as her partner. What an incredible man that she has, who loved her for the past 20 years despite fame and everything else
That doesnt sound like a Flex tbh, and pretty sexist, ive never seen a comment about a player that didn't was a legend and people saying "well but at least he married a beautiful woman, who cares about his sport"
You are speaking as you know them both personally 😂😂 you don't know people's relationships dynamics and what happens behind closed doors. You are watching too much TV shows bruh
I love her stance. Annas forehand was golden. You see the way she sways her hair with the hit ot her foreground stroke. She's such a flat atroker it didn't work so well against Seles tho cuz they both have similar strokes but selea is more powerful.
@@chinkisarma1422 honey, I hope you become eighth in the world doing your job. When you realize how difficult it is, you will stop being so disrespectful to others.
I remember this match and Anna was so much better than people think. Beautiful Martina and foxy Anna and their fabulous all court play. Wonderful. It's hard to believe that Martina is 40 and Anna is almost 40.
Anna was more charm than tennis that day .Lucky Enrique she commited on him than tennis and Enrique in return is so loving to her never been unfaithful with all the women around him..Good couple..
She was more "charm" than tennis basically her whole career, never a player that didn't won a single tittle and her ranking was max top 8 has been remembered by Many people, ofc the reason wasnt her talent as a tennis player
Anna hit the ball extremely flat & hard and that is really tough to beat when that style of player is doing everything right. However, it’s also very risky. Without the proper foot work or nerves that style of play can produce a lot of errors. The Williams Sisters hit hard & flat. BUT when they were on the defense or in trouble they learned to hit with more topspin, while Kournikova did not.
Don't out Martina and Anna on The same level, Martina was actually a really good challenge to the first years of transition to more power tennis, Anna on The other hand not Even close,
Hingis H2H S. Williams 6-7 Hingis H2H V. Williams 11-10 Hingis H2H Williams (d) 2-2 Total 19-19 No "destruction at all". In reality Hingis´major rival was Davenport, not the Williams sisters.
