I don’t drink. I never had a martini in my life. But I saw this on TV in the late 70s as a kid and after 40 years this commercial just popped into my head driving home about an hour ago. 🤷🏽♂️
This takes me back...to the Isola di Bella in Lago di Maggiore aboard the paddle steamer Piedmonte...(It was supposed to be on shot on the Nile but the boat there broke down.)... One of the best of my memories from the 70's.... by the way, I'm the guy in the white suit.
No, they just assumed everyone was ignorant and I guess that is your point here, is it? Or are you saying your are black and transgender and you like the fact they didn't slot someone in to pretend they care? C'mon Ray Purchase (in the voice of Toast), specifics!
Me acuerdo de este comercial de esos años cuando la programación de la televisión terminaba a las 2:00 de la madrugada y nosotros con mi señora estábamos tratando de tener nuestro primer hijo.
That's correct. Only the theme. The lyrics were by the agency's creative director Barry Day (of McCann Erickson). In 1977 Danny Williams recorded a commercial version with new lyrics called 'Dancin' Easy'. This was recorded to cash in on the disco scene! It was a hit but only reached No.30 despite it being featured on 'Top Of The Pops'.
this is bollocks. With the greatest respect, any Martini advert starts with.... Any Time, any place anywhere, it's the wonderful world you can share.. it's the right taste, it's the right place, i'ts Martini. ......
The earlier Martini adverts were an object of hate for liberal-left intellectual types in the 1970s, as they supposedly offered 'a wonderful world you can share' to people who hadn't a hope in hell of sharing it (ie the working classes). I have a feeling that's why they changed the lyrics here to 'a wonderful taste...'
I am looking for the Martini commercial, where there's 2 turbulence boats , (swamp boats) , gliding over the swamp......period must be early 70-ies , 73 , 74 ?
Well , the music that's used for this commercial , was later released , in another arrangement as a single under the name "dancing easy" or sometimes called "anytime, anywhere, anyplace" sung by Danny Williams . Personally I think , that they got a lot of good coments on this little piece of music, (not intended to be released officially as a 45) , and they decided to bring it out commercially.
