Yes, Marttiini knives are undervalued. They make great knives and their prices are good. I don't own as many as you do though 😂

Marttiini knives are for fishers, hipsters and backyard campers. I've destroyed few of them and they're not bushcrafting. Not buying them again. Try Terävä Jääkäripuukko 140 and/or Terävä Skrama 240. These are the tools that does whatever job you need to do. Those are tools, while Marttiini's are cute toys.

Such a nice place! As nice as your Marttiini's. This is the perfect place to test your knives, love it. Take care and happy New Year!

Rapala and Martini make great knives. I’ve filleted hundreds of fish with them. And they have models for many outdoor pursuits.

👍 I also enjoy Marttiini knives. I don’t own an Explorer model, but would like to have one, pity they are no longer manufactured them like the one you have. I have never really understood the term “survival knife”. It seems to me that if a knife is a good “camp”, “hunting”, “woodworking”, and “fishing” knife like these Marttiinis are that makes them a good “survival knife”. Perhaps I am wrong. Thank you for sharing your knives.

Thanks for the comment. I think most would prefer a larger full tang knife that's a bit tougher for survival but these Marttiinis can do a lot.

@@CommonCentsOutdoorsman You are probably correct about what some people (maybe most people) would prefer. I credit good marketing for that, not the usefulness of the knife. As you have probably guessed I am not a big believer in the “one tool” option. If I were that tool would be an axe, not a knife. I still believe if a knife is a good choice for camp, hunting, fishing, and woodcraft chores, it is good for survival. Again, perhaps I am wrong. In any event I enjoyed the 2 videos I saw of you using and discussing Marttiini knives.
