🤣 Everybody knows he was the “Noisy One” & Jeff was the “Technical One”...Then if you add that MONSTER of Dave Lombardo (a Real Legendary Drummer) he could survive only by Boosting his Ego in that Team! 😉
@@Hehehe-hf7rq yea they go through a lot of players. but kk actually didn't contribute anything. he didn't write or play on an album or even a demo so .
If you watch enough interviews with Marty, there's a lot of weird awkwardness whenever Dave is mentioned. He doesn't particularly like to talk about Megadeth at all usually.
I didn't see that all. Marty has only ever said complimentary things about Mustaine's musicianship. No doubt that Marty can play circles around most other guitar players, especially on solos and leads.
He does that so he doesn't mute the strings when he doesn't want to. I know, it's stupid. You see Hetfield, Mustaine, Hammett, King, etc not holding a pick like that.
This is how most big bands get a huge sound, 3 or 4 guitar overdubs, with just marty and kfk this is brought to the attention , it's marty in megadeth mode with kerry doing his shit.
Think about slayer solos as cooking your brain in a microwave or by electrocution. I also used to not understand that kind of solos. It s just pure chaos, you have to live it i guess
@@jclark176 Mate, as great as they are literally anybody can sit and play those riffs ourselves in our bedrooms at any time. Nobody can play like Friedman, so to hear his lead work over some Slayer is a one-off to savour and enjoy!
Yes he is an amazing player! But every metalhead guitar player over 30 knows these songs better than their own dicks, and jamming the vocal melody into a solo is not so hard!
King and Friedman actually work together really well. And it feels like they mutually respect each other although their styles and skills are very different. Friedman's improvisatory, bendy, ridiculously fast soloing over King's crunchy, hardcore, ridiculously fast riffing is amazing. Such a cool era when King (Slayer) played in Megadeth for a bit, and of course Mustaine was in Metallica at the start... these three bands really were related branches of one family. Marty's solo over 'Dissident Aggressor' is just phenomenal...
Yeah Marty is great. Exotic scales & modes. Kerry is probably better at rhythm. Saw some of the 1st gogs when Marty was in Mega. They opened for Priest. Marty had a lil trouble w/ the rhythms. He had to cut his solos a note or 2 short to get back in w/ the chords. The Mega stuff is hard. Like the jazz fusion of Thrash metal.
@@gerardspringer8576 I did security for megadeth Priest testament watching dressing rooms . That’s BS about Marty having trouble with the ryrhym .. as if man .
@@gerardspringer8576 well Marty did admit he had a played with a hand injury when he first got into death and didn’t tell Dave. Marty did well but never nailed a solo by Chris poland. After Marty healed his injury and learned the songs his rhythm playing was very tight
@@jacobgarcia2660 yeah might be a part of it. Part of it is the mega stuff is complex. Not just the solos but the rhythms, riffs. Marty was used to playing his solo stuff & cacophony. He got it down better on the Countdown tour. U had to come off the solos right to get back " in"
Yeah, they seem to have good chemistry working together. I feel like King's technical abilities would improve if he played with Friedman for a decade. Although, now I'm curious how Jeff Hanneman and Jason Becker would click.
Lol sorry I like Slayer but Eagles are miles and miles better than anything Slayer put out...because they know how to actually compose music outside the metal genre.
05:20 LOL, i can't stop laughing ... MF : other than metal, what kind of music do you like ? KK : elton john, eagles,.. MF : can you play hotel california by the eagles ? KK : i can't believe you ask me to play just a shitty fuckin' tune.. don't you know that i play fuckin' slayer.. what the hell you asking me man ??!! I can't believe i did this fuckin' TV show
Unless they're songs he's already familiar with, that use shapes he's already familiar with. In which case he's 90% of the way there and eyeballing is mostly a way of confirming the memory and insight aspects.
"Every time time they come to town, I go on stage and play with 'em. And we'd always plaą̷̧̯̗͍̤̱͉̓̀̅̿̏̈́̆̈́͛̈́̒̀̈̇͝ͅͅͅả̵̧̩̖̗̠͇͔̮́̍̈̅͆͑̄͊̽̾̓̑̎̍͗̃́̈́́̈́̕͘͜͝͝ͅa̴̧̢̪̲̬̭̥̱̅͒̋͌̓̅̐̚à̷̛̬̹͈͓͔̠̝̀͑́́͐͒̄̾͑ͅ" - Kerry King
Idolatry is a grave sin that puts you on the wide path to eternal damnation in Hell if you don’t repent/receive forgiveness for your sins prior to death. Have a good day man. Peace!
For those badmouthing Kerry, don't forget Dave wanted him in Megadeth... Yes I'm a Slayer fan but Megadeth is (and always will be) my favorite band. Just think if Kerry joined Megadeth maybe Slayer wouldn't have stayed around, just like how Dave getting kicked out of Metallica was a win - win for all metal fans :)
@insultmeplease haha are you fucking kidding me megadeth overrated hahaha compared to slayer fucking Jeff hannaman hahaha and matalica really come fucking on megadeth musically is way above both bands. Go listen to sandman
Marty is incredible. If you don't play guitar, you don't understand the technical prowess and thorough understanding of music theory along with pure creative talent necessary to play solos off the top that accent the songs perfectly.
I feel like Japan has always kept the metal alive in their country. Even now. I love it. I wish the video didnt cut off when kerry was talking about vin and dime
people dump on kerry for his leads, but his picking is as fast and sturdy as anyone. Even Rex Brown from Pantera said that as far as great rhythm players in metal go...it's Hetfield, Dime and Kerry.
Mad respect for Slayer with their rather large impact on Metal - I know I've enjoyed what they have created over the last 30 years, but I have to say Kerry seems offly proud of himself as a player sitting their next Friedman lolz.
slayer is one of my favorite bands along with megadeth, calm down and don't loose your shit just because i said i don't like his soloing. They also play the same kind of metal which is thrash
Nah, that's SLAYER! Let me explain their solos for you, Basically Kerry turns BC rich to full volume, and sets his Marshall amp to full gain with no bass, and no mids, full treble, and throws the guitar down the stairs, and that's how every slayer solo was ever created.
insultmeplease what are you talking about Marty’s solos are some of the best in metal. Kerry king just sound like he taking a saw to the guitar strings on his solos.
Legend status doesn't always mean 'The Best.' Look at most old blues legends, only learned enough to play and write with little variation from song. Not bashing or anything, but few musicians make it a goal to constantly evolve, which is fine, too.
Im gay for slayer and I am definitely butt hurt by all the bashing on Kerry. Now that that's crystal clear.... There is nothing sub par about Kerry. He says and plays what he wants his own way and got paid. Slayer stayed mostly the same and didn't conform to any trends and actually developed their own distinct style over the years. The solos sound fitting and they stayed heavy. I think he is great and handsome with his bald head vs Marty's jerry curls. Yes I'm also bald as shit..... Now I will go cry on my slayer pillow. You guys are just mean freaking guys.
Kerry doesn't even have 5% of Marty's abilities and talent. Well, it just is. Kerry is a simple guitarist like thousands.. I watch it with embarrassment..
