Martys bends, virbrato, note choice, sense of melody and what is created is stellar! held his own with Jason and Dave made him a great rhythm player! my take is he is never outclassed by any guitar player ever! he's that good!!
Every time I see this man play, I'm in complete awe. Marty Friedman should be the gold standard for every guitarist out there, his playing and phrasing is so unique.
This dude is actually hilarious on stage, puts on a great show even if your not into guitar, and it goes without saying (but I will) he's legend for all guitar players who know.
I love this track, and I love the fact that they did not edit out the error. So much stuff is over-edited nowadays, that it is refreshing to remember, every now and then, what it feels like for a human being to actually play.
This song is just brilliant!!! The section after 4:35 always brings tear to my eyes. I listen to his music every day of my life and it's amazing how great composer Marty is.
One of my all time favourite rock song is Stigmata Addiction. Even now i'm all goosebumps 🤣. That mistake is awesome, and it's at my favourite part of the song💪
Absolutely without a doubt one of my favorite 🎸 guitar players ... I've loved listening to Marty's creativity since dragons kiss on cassette 😮.... Or speed metal symphony/ cacaphony with Jason Becker !!!!! Man so many badass dudes out here man but Marty has a very very unique sound and picking style 🤟 so I recognize his stuff anywhere !!!! Love that new Jackson that Marty has out it's really beautiful
i've never heard this song before, and based on how marty deliberately hesitates and rushes in music, I would've never realized it was a mistake (audibly). visually, it was clear something happened there that he didn't like and looked like he was saying "... just keep rolling" or something like that. it's nice to see that marty actually is live in his videos unlike 90% of the people on youtube who are playing to a prerecorded track and just miming. which is completely pathetic. (it's probably not 90%, but I see it enough to be very annoyed by it :P )
@@Mechashiva76 It's wasn't that he played something he didn't like, he just got ahead of himself and played and further section too soon. Essentially there were 8 bars of that section and he accidentally played bar 1 followed by 6 because he got too excited. Then he paused once he realized he jumped ahead and started back up at bar 5-6-7-8. If this is your first time hearing this song, I strongly recommend listening to the album version as well as the live version from One Bad MF. I can't decide which one is my favorite.
The human that you are when you play makes you one of the greatest guitarists in history... you are my inspiration and your music is my companion for life Marty
you dont know what you are saying. being underrated would mean people that know him dont rate him high.... see what i mean or do i need to explain further?
you could have thanked me for clearing up your misconception about the usage of this word or just say nothing at all but instead you decided to go the troll route. your problem, not mine @@pharris125
@@pharris125he is less famous than he deserves, but not underrated. The least complimentary way I've ever heard anyone describe him is guitar virtuoso. One guy called him the lesser guitar player in cacophony but that isn't much of an under-rating.
Just installed his signature EMGs pickups on one of my old ESP guitars, and the tone is amazing! Highly recommend them to anyone that wants to bring back to life a single cut guitar.
It's always interesting how you comeback after playing bad mistakes, sometimes wonderful things happen, I love that aspect, because you brain gets circumvented 😁
Damn, Marty! you don't get old and your hair don't fall! And yes, great guitar player as always. One of my top favorite guitar players. Wish you would come back to Megadeth. At least for one album! I bet many people also want that.
What a killer track! Regarding the mistake, if Marty have not said, I wouldn't have heard it, even when he mentioned it, I didn't get it. Total power and melody journey!
At least for solos and leads he doesn't usually palm-mute. However, for rhythm work he has the strangest muting technique I've ever seen. Like he's using his wrist to mute instead his palm. Sometimes it even looks like he's using his forearm. Marty is nuts. He's just so unorthodox with everything, but his playing sounds completely natural and organic but still one of a kind.
Hearing this reminds me of why I've always liked the way this man colors his music. Everything he comes up with "rocks" "Megadeth" is still going through guitarist like a used car lot since Marty's departure. I'm from a small east Texas town outside of Dallas and I've gotten to meet Marty backstage, at a Megadeth show they had here close by. I was smoking some of "Dem Purps" while he gave me his autograph on a solo cd I had in my car. All he said was "somebody's having a good time". I told him "you better believe it we don't get metal bands in the country very often, so I take advantage of good times". I remember Ozzy was going to come to town back in the 90's and the Baptise church threw such a fit and stopped the show from happening. Which makes me wonder what else they control besides everything.
