The smartest Alexandrine Parrot in the world? This is only some of what Marty can do, he was not even taught how to wave bye bye he just learnt from watching and observing. Putting the words with the action of waving shows just how smart they are. We would love to post more but we lost Marty 2 years ago. If anyone has seen or heard of an Alexandrine that has the same vocabulary, please let us know. MASSIVE reward $$$$$$$.

Anthony Genovese We don’t clips our birds wings, because our ring neck got injured in fall. However we are carful with opening doors when they are out

Well you could use clicker training or treat training. But most of the time they just mimic sounds/words when they want to. My Alexandrine love to make the kissing noises and saying, "Hi pretty girl." It just depends on the bird, just because they don't mimic doesn't mean they aren't smart. Birds are highly intelligent.

omg how did you get your bird to learn to talk like that?i just recently got an Alexandrian and i've had him for a couple of months, hes now 8 months old . But all he learned to say so far is his name but you cant really understand him? I would really like some advice. Btw marty is adorable !

Well since he's so young he may just have to learn as he grows. My African grey was completely mute until about a year and a half even though we talked to her constantly, but now she never stops talking lol.

How long have you had Marty? You shouldn’t have opened the windows. Maybe, he saw a cat and got scared and flew away. He was such a precious gifted bird.

I never saw this post ... He was slowly chewing at his cage, he got out, which normally he would if just come up to our door, but we were not home and didn't notice until the morning ... We had a lot of cockatoos around... So he may of got a fright and flew away . I know someone would have him
