Never thought car review videos can be done without the vroom vroom background noise. Jokes apart, I really love watching you guys talk about cars and motorcycles. Gives me peace
My dad owns a Ciaz VXI+ 2017 model. The car hasn't been driven much. Less than 20,000 km. Recently, I learnt how to drive. And since then I have been driving the car. Well, I have a very surface level knowledge and understanding about cars. But I have have begun to realize what are the things that I genuinely care about in a car and what are the eventual situations where I will be driving the most. And hey thanks to you for making all of this happen. And the members of the MotorInc community. The members of this community are the most mature people I have ever witnessed in comparison to other channels where it's mostly specsheet comparison. Watching your videos made me realise the 'philosophical' side of driving and biking, I hope it's the right word. And also making me understand how to treat cars and bikes with the right balance of love and care but not letting it to be an unhealthy obsession.
I remember how Maruti Swift and Honda City were two of the most aspirational cars among us back in the day. Sad to see that they are drifting away from that position to something that feels truly commonplace.
Hi.. first of all thank you for this format of videos.. it is refreshing with the white background and lighter colors.. While you were referring to Swift not getting the battery-powered hybrid engine anytime recently.. why are you not referring dezire... It is used by a lot of taxi drivers and they could do really well with a car that can have a good boot space and really really good fuel efficiency.. I agree that Swift cannot have a hybrid due to cost and another point I believe is the small boot space.. I don't believe it will be introduced with Ciaz.. because they have moved away from that sedan and like you mentioned, there is no update for the car for ages now.. Why do you think it will come with brezza.. it had mild hybrid tech.. they moved away from that and increased the price which doesn't get justified now.. why do you think they will reintroduce hybrid systems with brezza?
Because the Brezza is now half way through its life cycle. And, the strong hybrid would be a diesel alternative. And that has been missing in Brezza’s line up.
As you talked about Ciaz I feel the same goes a bit for IGNIS too…why aren’t they planning to bring in an update to it? Assuming IGNIS to me is more practical and VFM compared to Swift !
Heyy guys, i have a question to Karthikeya, what about AMT gearbox?? How was it? Was it like the previous generation?? Or is it quicker now?? I have driven older santro, swift, celerio, etc. AMTs. They were really slow in shifting gears. And you have to really plan your overtakes in them.. so i was against AMTs but was using because AMT cars are cheap to rent. Like Karthikeya said they had head nod feature. But just 2 days back I rented and drove new brezza AMT 2024 model for 300km in a day... From mumbai to matheran to kasara to mumbai. And it's AMT really blew my mind. It was so quick that mostly I did not notice the gearshifts and their pedal shifters were amazing too without going in manual mode I can just shift down gear for like few seconds to overtake and it will again go back to auto mode. Disclaimer in my question: I am not a experienced car driver. My complete life car driving is around 5000km. I have never driven any other automatic so no idea how fast a DCT is? So, AMT is it like the new brezza or still a slower one.???
I've seen many partnered firms that eventually ended up with the team splitting up. I love this channel. Please make sure that you people don't fall into that trap. Keep this posted as a mantra in your office😅.
Didn't the previous gen swift had really bad steering that won't even return back to the Centre? Or did they update it during the life cycle? If so, when? And did that then make it even more better to drive than second gen swift? Second, don't you think 6 airbags as std on such a small car shouldn't be standard? It would make the car more affordable. People who want it can always go for higher variants.
My current econobox is 4 years old. I'm in an income bracket where I can afford to buy a better car. But looking at the taxes, I think I'm going to hang on to mine for 5-6 more years.
I think Maruti tried cracking it with the Baleno RS but there weren't many takers for that variant. So maybe that's why they have put the idea of a performance oriented Swift in the back burner or turned off the burner altogether. IMO they should have done that with the Swift as the Swift RS which would have been much more fruitful and paved the way for a sportier swift.
Indonesia still gets the better everything , that Swift Sport is amazing . I hope Maruti also launch sport model, like Hyundai has taken a semi sport initiative with the N line.
It's too early for that, @neosahft. We'll be testing the Swifts soon and at that point we'll have more detailed information on variants and powertrain options
Hey Motorinc I saw that their was this episode uploaded on Spotify but then it was taken down. Was that a mistake? I had watched half of that and I was dejected when it was taken down because I was in the flow.
Pricing it dangerously close to Baleno might make people think that it makes sense when they plan to bring in Baleno hybrid with this Engine, and I hope they will. It's always a bummer that swift sport isn't available, or even a variant with 1.0L turbo. It might hamper the sales of N lines of the world. May be because it might also cannibalize the sales of Baleno. All of these thories put together doesn't make any sense for the consumer, but it does for the sales. Also, just as a side note, I would think the Ciaz might be more beneficial with 1.5 Hybrid from the Grand Vitara. Not sure if Maruti are planning to revive it at all.
Looks like there is some change with the audio editing here. Shumi's voice sounds more muted in compared to other First videos. I even listened from different devices to make sure there is nothing wrong with my speakers. The audio in the spotify upload seems alright though.
There was a time when people cared about a music system more than ABS and airbags. Nice to see more safety features as standard these days. Still driving the gen 1 Swift and I love it to bits
I feel the infotainment system and the thick plastic cladding arround it makes you remind that you are in a budget car also, it looks quite ugly. In cars like sonet they have implemented this rather well by providing physical buttons on piano black plastics. Even the lower varients make you feel rich on that aspect.
I wonder why no one is bothered by the two thin sticks popping out of the instrument cluster - My 2019 i20 has a fully digital cluster and no manual buttons - Does it bother only me? And the buttons on the doors, still from 2015?
I agree with Shumi about Maruti of not bringing the swift sport to India. But I just pray they don’t redo swift RS, swift deca or even version like Altroz racer just for the mass appeal
Why do you think they avoided launching 4th gen swift with a hybrid setup. The international one already have hybrid engine, and its not like you need to launch only hybrid or non hybrid setup. For example GV sells in 2 types of variant class, non hybrid and hybrid engine setup. They could've done the same thing with swift as well.
Hybrid with 3 cylinders in Ciaz seems to be safe as there are less cars in that competition and if Maruti nails it then the sedan market may find its way back
one correction though , as kartikeya sir was discussing about how the new swift is just a facelift and he compared it with the baleno and brezza facelifts but in my opinion the brezza got drastic design changes ....as it got a completely different makeover which made it look strikingly different than previous versions and more attractive & modern to look at!
Opinions certainly should differ @HellDiver_02. To Kartikeya, that didn't feel like enough of a change because apart from the exterior changes, the Brezza still remains the same for the most part.
Swift hybrid is already available abroad. How come they manage cost so well ? Whereas maruti which has the largest share in the indian car market is always cribbing about cost & always the first to raise prices just like amul
Hello Team MotoInc.. Currently I'm using 2017 Dzire Vxi covering 45,000kms.. My questions is should I upgrade to upcoming new Dzire in 2024 with new Z-Series engine ? Is it worth?
Thinking of a stop-gap car (4 to 5y) coming from the pocket rocket polo 1.5 TDI.. ... thinking of this new swift (don't like baleno irrationally, exter and i20 in contention )
Owned a 2nd gen SWIFT 1.2 l engine. Somehow buying it was never about the design so I completely agree that it’s just a solid little do-it-all car, that has sort of held its ground over the years. On a separate note: The word is not your oyster either!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥳automotive content with a sense of humour is ❤
The fact that Suzuki chose the swift as the first car to get the new engine represents Suzuki's belief in their new engine and the ways it can be evolved with time..I won't be surprised if the swift, 2 years from now when it will be due for a minor refresh, would also be the first to come with the hybrid Z-series
I think Maruti had missed few important features such as rear washer and defogger, height adjustable driver seat and TPMS atleast in their higher variants which would have improved driver's experience by leaps and bounds. But still this is one of the better swifts that will sell for upcoming years. As always great MotorInc First impression which gave us a rough idea of how this car is gonna pit against its rivals.
I think brezza or ciaz or any other larger vehicle, other than swift or baleno or at max dzire will struggle with Z12E engine. Power to weight ratio will significantly decrease. I think they need to to create 2 more engines, Z10 and Z15 let's say. And it will be offered in different class of vehicles in following manner - 1. Z10 2. Z10 turbo or Z12 3. Z12 turbo or Z15 Basically current lineup style. It does make sense when you analyse how all engines are used in all the vehicles.
Sir, I went to check new swift in showroom. when I asked about 3rd gen Swift the dealer said only one car is available which was kept in display and offering 50K discount. Can I go ahead and buy it. it’s not a demo car. please advise
You guys speak from the heart unlike other reviewers on the platform. That makes it my first choice to check MotorInc for your opinion and feedback on all automobile topics. Anyhow it doesn't feel like a 51 mins video, cheers for keeping the talk alive with all the jokes from Shumi throughout the video.
Regarding the turning. The wheelbase is the same as the previous model. So the way the car turns should feel the same, unless they have somehow managed to rewrite the laws of physics.
As Shumi mentioned, there is even lesser chance for a Swift Sport. The failure of the Jimny would make Maruti think that their customers are not ready for lifestyle vehicles.
What Karthi & Shumi said is very correct. I was waiting to buy new Swift as my first car. Once I saw the 3 Cylinder and power figures. It was a huge turn down. Gone and Bought Glanza instead.!
i still remember the Gen 1 or Gen 2 swift had promotion done around "it having rally suspension setup" or something like tht and marketing it as a quick fast fun car.. its sad how the Japanese manufacturers are becoming more like the Korean manufacturers and taking away the "it" factor from their cars. Honda did the same with the Jazz.
I don't understand the point of Swift ZXI Plus for 20k more I can get Baleno Aplha with lot more space a reliable 4 cylinder and lot more features, specially 360 degree camera.
They put on the seatbelt when they get in, and take it off when they get off Next time they sit the seatbelt beeps. It's dumb but cheaper to implement than load sensors.
@@crococrash appreciate your reply. Sorry I got a but confused rn. How does the system know someone sat again for the second time that it stops beeping. Maybe I am getting it totally wrong ☹️
Brazza price will add a lakh, instead of adding 2.5 lakh because it will fall back into the sub 4 meter bracket with the 1.2 liter engine and hybrid system
My cousin brother has the last model (2018) of Swift. When I drove it, I found it a little more wobbly and unsettling over patchy roads. My cousin said it's because of the Heartect platform. From Kartikeya's take, I can see they've worked on the suspensions, but overall weight is same. So does this Swift feel more planted than earlier on the patchy roads?
Hi, perfectly informative video I am looking for a family car and mu wife will be driving mostly along with my kid..safety is a concern for us ..please suggest between tiago or swift or any other car.. we use it in hyderabad but will also use it on highways regularly
Hello, we have shared our views on star ratings here. As for the better car - it would be the Swift. But the best pick of all would be the Baleno/Glanza.
Although I disagree with Shumi's assessment of the Honda H'ness CB350, I want to express my appreciation for conducting this podcast in English. This choice makes the information a lot more accessible to a significant portion of South India, where most people do not understand or speak Hindi. Thank you for recognizing and respecting the diversity and secular nature of our country, indirectly.
A sunroof is probably dangerous when your car overturns and you are not wearing seatbelts, or if you are standing in a running car with your head out of the sunroof, which is plain stupid. Let's not blame the feature. I have one in my car. I use it everyday. It really makes the car feel more airy, makes it feel more spacious, brings in more light. It is upto us to make sure that we use it responsibly.
Can we look at this in another way: instead of thinking of it like swift becoming boring can we say they made 3 cylinder engine more exciting by putting it in the "epic new swift"
ERTIGA - Such a versatile car left with no good updates internal or external. Such a shame!. ERTIGA is the one that should be given STRONG-HYBRID first.
