In this very special episode (Ep 15) of our 'Eurovision 2019 Reaction Video Series' the reactors watch and give their opinions on, the winner of Vidbir 2019, MARUV with her song 'Siren Song'.
Filming for this video started prior to Ukraine announcing its withdrawal from Eurovision 2019. We decided to continue production and post it to show our support for the artist. We hope to see you in 2020 Ukraine.

Since she won't be going to Eurovision, the only rightful thing to do would let her perform as an interval act in one of the semi-finals or in the grand final. I hope they invite her, but I doubt it... 😔

Should be. But they didn't do that with Romania in 2016. And the artist was already travelling Europe on a promotional tour and doing the pre-parties when the EBU kicked Romania out.

@@lucyweaver7992 It was a different situation with Romania tho... The EBU themselves disqualified Romania because of financial debts. MARUV was invited by the Ukrainian broadcaster to participate in their NF, just to be dragged into the political mess that it turned out to be. They gave her an ultimatum; either sign the contract and do everything as we say, or we will find someone to replace you. She didn't do anything wrong, she was even willing to cancel her upcoming concerts in Russia, but aside from that, there were some disgusting orders that were demanded by the broadcaster in that contract.

This something we totally needed in this years Eurovision. This is the one entry that got everyone excited and then it doesn't get to go.. Sadly Ukraine rather withdraws than send a killer song.

To Louise: Thank you for such thoughtful intro to this video. You made your feelings very clear and strong but did so in a respectful way without naming names and you brought it back to what contest is about - music. Which is always the most powerful way to do things. It is most important that we fans support Maruv especially here in east europe and your words are beautiful. I am from Ukraine. Normal people, stars of showbiz, we all support Maruv. Facking National Television of Ukraine. Its created so "devil contract" and Maruv had to refuse from eurovision but save honour. Great respect for it. We created the petition for her support and opportunity to take part in Eurovision. Now it has 18 000 signetures and close. Hope it will help us to see her in Eurovision.

@@user-sl8ws7xg6g И чем Порох - колаборант? Мы уже сдали свои национальные интересы в пользу Рашки? Я как посмотрю на кремлевского карлика (Лаврова, Пескова и прочую шантрапу) и его выступления, так у кремлевского карлика зубы сводит от злости на нашего Пороха. А как вы думаете почему? И очень хорошо, что Марув не едет на Евровидение, не надо за весь украинский народ подписываться. Я против гастролей украинских артистов в стране-оккупанте и агрессоре и не надо вешать лапшу на уши в виде "адекватных людей". И таких людей много в Украине, которые разделяют мою точку зрения. Пока наши бойцы сидят в окопах, чтобы таким, как Марув спокойно елось, спалось, работалось в Украине, она ездит на гастроли в Рашку. Не представляю, как бы Клавдия Шульженко поехала бы в Германию веселить фашистов концертами.

@@user-rr1tj1fc7s Про Порошенко, если вдруг не в курсе, сейчас идет скандал с хищениями в оборонпроме. Гляньте Дубинского, там хорошая аналитика. +я вижу по состоянию жизни и меня и населения насколько его "покращення" стали. Люди за копейки бьются. А Порох только богатет, увеличивая свое состояние. А кремлевские новости не смотрю, не сильно в курсе как там что. Иногда за Навальным приглядываю.

Да, в курсе-курсе! Можешь не перечислять. Но это не колаборант, можно любыми другими словами называть - коррупция, мошеничество и т.д., но интересы Украины в пользу Рашки мы пока еще не сдали. Вот поэтому и трясет от злости всю кремлевскую шантрапу. Там еще больше ждут наших выборов, чем у нас, авось не Порошенко будет, а другой президент, и "новенький" прогнется под Кремль. А я регулярно смотрю рашоСМИ, слушаю иногда сливной бачек - Скабееву (слышал о такой пропагандистке?), поэтому в курсе.

Maruv wasn't at false at all. The broadcaster invited Maruv in to the contest when Tayanna if that's her name didn't want to take a part of anymore. Broadcaster did know that Maruv is having concerts at Russia and that she is very popular in there. They just wanted to make a drama out of. Even Jamala know that Maruv is very popular in Russia so you can't tell me that the broadcaster didn't know about this.

И ехать на конкурс, она будет только от Украины, никак иначе. Неужели вы не видите в этом, ни капли патриотизма? Что еще она должна лично вам доказать? Что касаемо гастролей в России, лучше расскажите, кто туда не ездил? Может Джамала? По поводу выступления в Сочи, думаю вы в курсе. Или Лобода, у которой запланировано сейчас куча гастролей по городам России? @@user-fx7ei8kx1p Пусть Марув будет стыдно!!!!!!! 13 тысяч военнослужащих убито, 20 тысяч гражданских людей потеряли здоровье (стали инвалидами) и своих близких в результате агрессии Рашки. А Марув ездит с гастролями в страну-агрессор. Вот если бы у Марув сидел в окопе брат, отец и отбивал бы каждый день обстрелы российских оккупантов, то вряд ли бы она ездила на гастроли в Рашку. И еще. Я так думаю, что все это сказки, что ей НТКУ подсунул "дьявольский" контракт, как говорит Марув. Может это Марув "забила" на свою страну ради гастролей в Рашку? И у Марув песня, как песня. Если бы не раздули скандал, да никто не обратил бы внимание на Марув. Очень жаль, что TAYANNA отказалась участвовать в отборе на Евровидение, и вместо нее "засунули" эту Марув.

Been listening to the song a lot, what a shame it won't be going to Eurovision, but think Ukraine withdrawing completely is the best decision. Oh well, Ukraine's loss 😢 Also, if we're talking about sexualised acts - don't forget Poland 2014 which I thought was way more overtly sexualised!!! Sex on Eurovision is nothing new.

Performance was a bit too sexualised for the last minute or so. I'm not sure the EBU would have been entirely comfortable with it on a family show (it's definitely something that would attract complaints.....Poland 2014 was very mild in comparison).

She doesn't deserve the support. It was not the government choice to exclude her, it was people who ousted her after we learned that she was sympathizing the occupiers. Talent doesn't equal ethical cohesion. If you check where is she now, you'd know how and why we did what we did ^^.

I blame Jamala for the downfall of Ukraine in Eurovision. It is Eurovision SONG Contest, there's no space for politics in the show. This was so good!
