Gosh you made a perfect review of this character / figure . Cyclops is one of my favorite characters, I was hoping much from this version because just like you I loved so much the AoA toy biz version . They could have added darker shades to the blue costume / suit. The dark / black bits and gloves are such a great idea, I will probably do one with my second Aoa Cyclops ( yes I ordered2 also) the scar effect from Wolverine and the second eye place for the visor are missing…. Too bad… great review 👍🏼 really loved it. Can’t wait to see Legion next.
Excellent photography. I like the same buck for Cyclops it gives you that consistency between all his different costumes. Surely by now you know Hasbro are getting very complacent, minimum paint apps. How can a 25 year old figure be so much better. I hope they do the Phoenix Cyclops sometime.
I’m sorry but what’s up with the last 2 heads on figures for this wave first shadow cat now cyclops but other than that pretty good review also I like that that hasbro tries to add new things so even though it’s Bucky cap it still feel newish also your custom is sick also for a rating of my own it’d be 5/10 I would get him if he was on sale
A plug in optic blast would have distracted from the missing features on this head sculpt. Surely there are some black boots in Legends that fit this Bucky Cap build. Thanks now I can’t unsee them bad hair line. AoA Havok is a big want for me too.
I'm way late to the party and just picked this figure up for twelve dollars and some change from Amazon. In my opinion, it has its minor flaws but, overall, I think it's a good figure and fits in well with my AOA collection of Legends. You got to keep in mind that if they had their way, the Hasbro Marvel Legends design team would pull out all the stops and give us a more detailed figure. You have to remember though the Design Team has to work within the confines of a budget given to them by executives. That said, I'm happy with it.
Your custom make him look a lot better. Breaking up all that blue makes it more fun to look at. Hasbro could have even added that leg band like Toy Biz's figure. The 5 O'clock shadow and better placement of his hair would have gone a long way. He usually isn't seen with the scar on his face so I don't mind him not having it.
I am gonna have to search my fodder for a better headsculpt. You might be right about another AOA cyclops. Because the last two 3 packs were Mutants and maybe they would want to do another 3 pack and include him with two heads. Honestly the only reason I am getting this wave is because I want that colossus otherwise I would have passed on this one. Maybe the next one can have a removable visor so if they screw up the slashed face again we can add one. This figure reminds me of the mobster in Takashi Miike's Ichi the killer that looks like an old man but takes off his clothes to reveal how freaking jacked he is. Great job as usual.
My version of Cyclops after the Jim lee look but the quality of cyclops AOA is a lesser one then previous releases cause also thighs kinda pop out easily on my copy don't know if you had this issue also.
I can't tell which I like more black boots or blue, I do like your upgrades so I'm gonna have to see in hand how I feel, I love tweaking and modifying my figures, makes them more unique and personal, great review I'm looking forward to colossus
I'm feel you on all of this, man, as the Toy Biz AOA Cyclops was one of my fave toys growing up, too. In my storylines, he was "evil" Cyclops who worked for Sinister and wanted to kill the true Cyclops lol. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of paint did you use for the paint job? And did you apply any kind of protective coat on it afterwards?
I hope for an updated Jim Lee/ X Men TAS Cyclops will be on a better mold, I love the jacketed Cyclops but I’d love to have one without the jacket!!! Hopefully that’ll be revealed today, a new and improved beefy version of Cyclops!
Anyone know what legs he is on? I want to find a the right set and hopefully a figure with black boots. Sorry if it’s said in the video. Just hadn’t got to that part yet.
I’m not sure but they’re waaaay too pointy so it won’t look right. The boot from Ghost Rider since it’s the same as AIM but with no pointy tips would be a good look. I just don’t know if the swap would work.
New arms but sheesh they're bulky compared to the rest of him. His nick name was Scott "Slim" Summer's. He really needs a new taller body mould as I always thought of him as quite a tall lean guy. Butterfly joints too please. Like X- Manny says if they at least sculpted some new boots that'd be something. That hair. Wow bad.
For sure lack of extra details always breaks the figures. That 5 o’clock shadow makes cyclops AOA. Boots should have been added, blast effects or extra hands and head. Even the accessory that came with toybiz as well. Waist up looks some what good but down looks rushed and they drop the ball on summers. Do your research…. New to your reviews checking out the rest..
It's an effect of power creep. During the Claremont era a 30-foot drop would be enough to put him out of commission for a while. I don't recall his healing factor already being able to regrow limbs even in the 90s.
They messed it up it was supposed to be the other way because remember from his forehead to his eye wolverine's claws were on his face it was like a comb over to cover up his eye that wolverine cut out
A cyclops figure that has no optic blast effect what ale's you hasbro but also most of these figures from wave 1 and this wave didn't have some accessories and that's just annoying
Nice mod! Put some black wash on his hair, body and legs, add 5 o'clock shadow and change the armor to brighter gold... then this figure will be perfect!
If they can do running changes for pretty much every other figure how about another one? I want to get him but this figure is just so… meh? This figure could’ve been about 50x better. Honestly pretty sad to see this.
