@Xmanny87 I feel like you did clear up confusion. I personally already knew the differences but someone putting into video form should help a lot of people. I honestly feel like it'd be awesome if you took that whole section and released it as it's own video so it'll reach even more people!
Awesome review Manny. Fantastic job explaining how different are the suits. Manny that classic Tony Stark head sculpt looks like Charles Bronson to me. I can't unseen it bro lol. Make me want to do a custom Death Wish Charles Bronson figure.
This Ironman wave didn’t get much marketing, but it’s yet another really good wave, still on pace for an epic year …..also hasbro is a 24 dollar figure. Plastic mold is what you will always get. Especially with Disney royalties. Never getting around that
Stop making excuses for them bro. A multibillion dollar company CAN paint it. They just don’t want to do that for us as they want to cut around corners. Caring only about their bottom line and not giving back to the consumer. So for $25 they should give us more bang for our buck. Also, the consumer pays for the Disney licensing fee. Not Hasbro.
With that said, I’ll agree in saying that it is another really good wave. I’m enjoying it and this has been an epic year by far. Haven’t felt this excited since the peak years of 2019 & 2020. Those were my favorites.
BIG thank you for explaining which model/armor is supposed to be bull$hit. This armor was my favorite for comic book iron man always and that was armor for my SPECTACULAR, Iron man. Since I'm from 2004 xp This one might be my favorite out of all hasbro figures and in my collection. But still........ I do have some hope we will get model 25 cause..... even if there is no such difference..... this is spot on my favorite iron man armor. That one was actually on the box of extremis XD If it comes to model 1 gold...... I'm happy, lack of paint on the chest doesn't really bother me at all. the same thing goes with model 9. I can't wait for these figures. Next armors I would love to see: mentioned earlier model 25, UPDATED bleeding edge, Hydro armor, Thorbuster. There are lots to choose but these are I think upgrades I would love to see.
model 9 has the crappiest color selection I've seen, either go with the solid red and yellow or go with the full gold and candy red look, they chose a weird in between thats looks super cheap
They did. What’s crazy is the version they did back in 2013 for model 9 v2 was gold and candy red metallic. While this figure looks better in design, the older one had superior paint for $20
@@Xmanny87 yes, and I actually don't mind about the marbling that much, it can work if you choose the right color to mold the plastic into, but with the model 9, they failed miserably, even just using the same shade of red as the model 24 would've made it instantly better and it wouldn't have cost them a single extra penny, it's like the figures are not even from the same company lol
The sculp for this wave is great! However I think hasbro should make it a rule that all iron man figures use the same paint or plastic at the modular figure. I really hope they re do bleeding edge too
I completely agree with you, my dude, the Pentagon and extremist armors are my two favorites of all time. Also, speaking of marvel, ultimate alliance I love that game to death too. Who are your favorite characters to play? I always like to play Spider-Man Hulk, and ghost Rider, of course, cause those are my top three marvel characters, also, I really love playing Deadpool and the thing
Bro! I’m so hardcore in that game that I played everyone through multiple play throughs completing the campaigns over and over again. I loved Magneto, Silver Surfer, Venom and the fourth I can go Spidey, Deadpool, Wolverine. I don’t know. So many. lol
I'm not a big Iron Man fan, but it would be really cool to have a Hall of Armor display of all the different models. Having said that ... that Model 24 fig does looks pretty sweet. Great sculpt work. I'd pick him up on sale. The new Tony Stark face print looks better than the 20th anniversary one, which is weird because I thought they were using the new face print tech on that one too. The Prime head swap does look really good on the Model 9 body. It looks so good with the tentacle and blast effect! Seeing that large port in the bottom of the boot has me wondering if they might make an even more substantial blast effect for possible future Sentinels. It seems weird for them to add that as actual sculpt, when they could have just put a flat circle there. Definitely looks too big for the Nimrod blasts. Hmmm. Thanks for bringing that vision to life!
What if, since they're just gonna use marbling shit, they just made the model 1 straight up yellow??? Personally, I think that might've worked better and LOOKED better I hate the marbling!
You know what….you made me envision that and I’m not opposed to that whatsoever. Who knows, they can still do that knowing how much they love their reuse.
I think the Model 1 would be a good base mold for a Model 6 Hydro Armor. It would just need some retooling. I would also love to see his Destroyer Armor from Fear Itself in figure form. The Model 24 and Extremist (my two favorite) are the main armors he would wear when I was a kid.
that was really well explained on the model 24 pentagon armor! marvel wikia was inconsistent af. i appreciate the clarification and sources you provided here
When I get the “model 20” Iron Man one I’m gonna see if I can cut down or shave/sand down the excess overhang on the hand guards so I can actually use the upward wrist hinge for the repulsor blasting pose
Thanks for your review on these three Xmanny. I felt disappointed for you while watching, as I know your HoA is missing these variants and ML just missed the mark (or is it model?) on two of them. I know you are pretty psych'ed on getting the Hulkbuster, so maybe that will make you forget these.
Well….not the Hulkbuster I wanted originally as I want the modular classic Hulkbuster from it’s first appearance. But this new one will do for now until I get that one.
@@Xmanny87 I forgot to mention this; A hallmark to Xmanny videos is the excellent research done on the characters. I believe you are the only reviewer that provides an extensive bio that enables the viewer to have an understanding even though they might not know the character. I appreciate your efforts m'friend. A definite go-to site.
So the Reason I think The Model 9 has A Blue "Arc Reactor" is To match with the Retro War Machine that came in the Same Sub-Line. Now if thats what they were going for, they should have kept it consistent with Modular Armor(the Capcom version) and gave that a Blue arc reactor as well, But this consistent Swap from white, to gold, to blue on all there Iron Man figures pisses me off. They should be the same color as the Armors Gold/Yellow bits. The only ML that should have a Blue Power Node was A.I. Tony Stark.
Finally a review where the insight is on point, I think you are the first to nail it. I would be curious about your opinions on the Stealth Armor released by Marvel Legends which was just a repainted classic armor that missed all the cool details of the actual stealth armor from the books?
Disney Marvel Toybox Iron Man Hall Of Armor Play Set. This set was sold back about 4 years ago and is no longer on the market. You’ll have to try the aftermarket and they are super pricey now. I think it was a $40-$50 set originally.
@@Xmanny87 Thanks for reaching out, I like that at least your reviews seem like they aren't biased towards hasbro. I like a good and constructive critic. cause we as customers should try to tell them which things we like and which we don't. For example the pinless joints were hyped up so much by shills and hasbro but often times they still use them, which annoys me very much.
Just got the model 24. Its a mean lookin iron man design dor sure i really am liking it more than i thought i would. I would love a thor buster and bleeding edge as well.
Agreed on the marbling detracting from both the otherwise good Model 1 and especially the new Model 9. Looks great otherwise, since it's so iconic being the suit slapped together after the Silver Centurion was blown to smithereens. But upon the reveal months ago, there was NO QUESTION that the Model 24 would be the crown jewel of the wave. However, tempting as it is, I think I'll be sticking with the Model 70 for my main Marvel/DC hero shelf, and if I buy any new Iron Man model to open this year, it'll probably be Hulkbuster.
Great video as always Manny, I have a question though are the fins on the Model 24 glued down or just tabbed in? Because I plan to remove them when I get mine, I honestly don't like how they look
Really need to add ball joint in place of the stupid waist swivell. Also never understood shin swivel. Do your shins swivel? No. Thigh swivel is enough. Cvnts.
lol it’s just an action figure so it helps more with posing for me…..But it makes more sense when there’s a boot sculpted to actually hide the cut. When there’s no boot cut then that’s when it looks off.
They did something like that for their 3.75 line many years ago I wanna say. I had some. It was a base with a cardboard file of the armor. Can’t remember the name of the series. But they can do something similar to that maybe in another way.
Sweet pics! Nice review. I don’t know if I have another armor I want most. Modular is big for me. I got a couple repaints of that one already. Pentagon and Extremis are wants. Return and Reborn are cool. I have those. I would like the aqua armor. I’m pretty good with the red/yellow red/gold versions.
i got the gold iron man and i tried to bend his arm and it fell off .. had to glue it back in so it stays in place. i have the silver mk 1 too and didnt have that problem
I like the review overall. I disagree with your complaints about the swirly plastic, because some of the best Iron Man figures also have it - Modular and Model 70. It just feels like an unnecessary nitpick, but if it bothers you that much just buy overpriced imports.
It’s not an unnecessary nitpick, it’s an absolute valid critique when Hasbro used to paint their shit. They did this same armor back in 2013 with metallic red and gold for $20. No excuses. And yes, I do buy the imports too which look way better as they look like actual metal. That’s not the point I’m making in my video though. I’m not reviewing an import. Imports have their standards set. I need Legends to raise their standards when it comes to these swirly molds. I acknowledged that in my video about them making a lot of good Iron Man figures. Most of them are good and yeah most of them have the swirly plastic which still looks bad. Not settling for just good. I want greater. They can be greater. Like I said in my video, if you like it then cool. But I hate it and that’s my opinion. No one will change that for me, only Hasbro can whenever they make it right.
On screen the mark one all looks the same colour o me, ive only pre ordered the mark 9, she-hulk and count nefarius. And when it comes to the swirly plastic nova was the main reason I brought the galactus Haslam but her marbling and lines are horrendous on mine so it kinda ruins the whole set for me so it's all still in its box 😔. Great video 💛❤
I just don’t get the downgrade on paint because the last model 9 v2 they made was painted in all metallic Red and gold. I don’t mind the yellow but the red needs to be painted in that hot rod red candy metallic paint
@@Xmanny87 yeah but I think his small stature will work nice as 1st appearance avengers. Plus can we expect to see a new hall of armor display. it would be neat if you display them all according to model numbers starting from 1 and so on
