Oh my God, I wish I could like a comment more than once. I just had the best laugh right now from this. 👏 If Hasbro were a man, you'd be a murderer right now.
@@the_cheap_ones You're wrong there buddy. They have alot more detail and come with one off character specific accessories more often than legends at a cheaper price. Most of the figures have very minimal re use as well.
I think that was probably the best photoshop you've done so far. Which is impressive cause this definitely one of Hasbro's better looking contemporary figures anatomy-wise
Recently I ordered the Shockwave Blast made by Pocket World from bbts, which looks really good for a sizable proton cannon blast effect or a kamehameha. Like it actually looks like it can do some real damage as opposed to the tiny blast effects from this and the ones for DBZ figures. I just hope there is no QC issues with it when I get it in hand.
Thanks for the review, Anthony. Hasbro is helping me save money this year. I was going to buy this but the uni-beam/ arc reactor being too deep in his chest & the inaccuracies on the comic style helmet are annoying.
I find this figure to have even more issues, like the cartoon head not only being too big, but also looking kinda strange, especially in a chin area - I feel it should be more rounded. I also find it ridiculous that the gripping hands are bigger than other hands and they’re design is also a bit different (the fingers are more square and the lines are deeper), so mixing the hands doesn’t look good. Tony’s head not only too big, but also seats way too high… God… like most people I’ve purchased this figure because I’ve been waiting for an animated Iron Man figure since I was a kid, but it needs to be so much better. Also, having cartoon shoulder pads and helmets have a brow would have also helped a lot.
I'm really not a fan of how Hasbro does this style of Iron Men, it didn't look good with the 80th year and this one kinda looks.. worse I think their Iron Men shine better when they are that nice metallic color, but, just my thoughts, to each their own I guess I can see why people would be into these colors, personally I think they come off as cheap also those alternative head sculpts are ugly as hell, they dropped the ball 💀

The gun is literally just a hunk of plastic with a dab of paint and a comical looking reused blast effect. Hasbro never ceases to display their lack of effort, that's for sure.

Great review Anthony. I’ve been wanting an animated 90s IM for a while but this figure has so much WTF😄 I love the Into the AM shirts. I’ve got a couple so far and always get looks when I wear them. Will definitely grab some more with the sale and your code👍🏾😃
This is admittedly petty, but realizing that this was an intentional homage to MvC and the show makes me salty that they still didn't line up the unibeam with the pec lines. Not too long ago, I shared to social media an edit showing what that adjustment would look like on the gold figure but even then I thought that figure was all right as is since it's using a valid look per some depictions. But the fact that this is based on two iterations that actually *do* have the unibeam line up makes me bitter at how Hasbro didn't make the adjustments. It's a minor design choice but one that gels with the rest of design's elements.
For the first time in a while, my local Wal-Mart had "new" Mavel Legends in stock. I almost bought Darwin for the grins, but then I saw the price. The store also had G.I. Joe figures for the first time. A case? of 6 Lady Jane... in the discount area, next to the baby dolls. And for Star Wars, the same two Lando figures that have been on the peg for a year and a half... the Return of the Jedi one.
Are HASBRO intentionally making figures bad... Yes,You can't change my mind! Because they can't make a flawless figure, it just slowly creeps towards better. The people don't want disk swivel waist but they will do a ball joint waist on figures in like 10 years if they don't lose the license before then. Articulated toes on a Spiderman ,only on the R.Y.V two pack ,not a coincidence. I'm sure the business model is to create sub-par trash that will be fixed later at another full retail price release. A.K.A BULLS*edited*
There are a lot of inaccurcies with this figure, first the shoulder pads should have been bigger or at least have extra ones with more scaly look to much the first armor in the series, the gold pieces for the Modular armor are wrong, they were more like golden stripes on the second armor. Aesthetically over all I think the shoulders are just small.
I'll bet you a million dollars that these guys sit in a big room passing around joints saying... "Lol...What kinda crap can we make to screw with our customers? Lol".... "oooooh, I know.... let's make big heads and wimpy accessories for the cannon!! Lol"
It seems marvel is somewhat listening to your reviews of hasbro marvel legends being majority sucks and at the same time just messing with you :D . The Iron ma figure for me looks like the Marvel Vs. Capcom playstation game, but the blast effect totally cheap azz
Got my hands on one last week. Is it perfect?...no. But it is really close to the version of ironman in marvel vs capcom. So for the nostalgia alone..I'm happy with him.
that freaking cannon is awesome. but the figure is kind of weirdly lazy. like they don't want to bother for accuracy. like they smashed mvc ironman and ironman animated series ironman in 1 figure.

Unfortunately for mine, the knee guards yellow paint for the left leg was over painted and fused to its knee joint. I tried heating up to get it off but it left a huge yellow paint smudge on the bright red. Not to mention the right knee has red paint seeping through. Ughhhh. The price point is so high and we are still getting issues like this? So frustrating.
I am happy with my Modular Iron Man!!! This repaint is definitely overpriced and the colors are not what I want!!! Thanks for pointing out what we all need to know!!!! But, I am definitely interested in those T-Shirts!!!! Thanks again for what you do!!!
The figure is a great one even though it's a Repaint. The Canon though, for that price point, needs paint, and a new high powered blast effect. That blast effect they included is embassing.
Sorry for the double comment, RU-vid is being weird about editing right now. But it looks like it was meant to have a bigger blast effect, as it seems to be designed with multiple sockets to give more surface distribution for a heavier effect
I already have the modular Iron Man so I got this just for the cannon, especially since the 3d printed ones I had seen in the past were priced around 35$
So the disk hinges in the shoulders are hidden from the outside but yet they are red instead of yellow to match the inside of the shoulder…. Come on Hasbro jeesh do they even pay attention to anything….
Hasbro doesn't make reviewing easy for you. This is another example of a concept misguided beyond reason. I am unaware of how much we are buying though. With recent news of Hasbro's financial woes due to customers price "sensitivities" I suspect there hasn't been as much buying as before. Funny thing about sensitivities, unless desired they are best avoided.
@@toylipswel it unmasked hed fir h werd it kind lok in hindsight it ment based ho Tony st ry lok inniron MSN tas season 2 whre had long hsir but hi har std bit longer in thbseres
To me, this is the definition ironman of all time! Got tired of seeing the 80th version like 100x, so getting this in the correct color makes me happy. Except the exclusiveness and price tag... That's the price of almost 3 figures 🤦🏿♂️ but still worth it!
Also, one of the inaccuracies is the "V" line of the chest plate, that should coincide with the "V" of the pentagon. That said, I kinda like the Tony Stark head sculpt. A mullet always rules LOL. Waiting for Longshot and (I guess I'm alone here) hoping for a mullet mohawk Rogue and a mullet Sue Storm, cause girls also party.
This is a good loking figure but not a great release, imo. It's the perfect example of Hasbro's Modus Operandi: They make a decent enough figure but make enough mistakes on purpose so they have an excuse to release a different version later. Toy Biz Cap is a great example too: The shield has holes and the limbs still have pins, that gives them an excuse to release an improved Cap with no pins and a normal shield, but they will probably release one with dark colors so they have an excuse to release it again with brighter colors but maybe no accessories. It's a scam, lol. I wanted this figure, but I don't like the blue eyed helmet and the unmasked headsculpt...
Hahahaha, that blast effect at the end is SO DROOPY! I wonder if there's weird licensing stuff for the MVC decos, something like why the changed the proton cannon name.
Honestly, I’m probably gonna get this guy just for the Proton Cannon. Blast effects, you can probably pick out from previous releases of Iron Man’s Modular Armor or the classic War Machine Model 11 Armor. I bet you can even use the blast effects from the Transformers War For Cybertron Trilogy: Kingdom Ark for the cannon. 5 mm ports, right?
If it makes you feel better (I don't know why you would feel bad about this), Mafex's proton cannon for the same version of Iron Man does come with any attachable blast effects or have ports to allow you to choose your own adventure. A very short "charging up" effect that covered the entire barrel would have been super cool.
I own a lot of Into the Am clothing. Always great designs. They are pretty big in the EDM community where I discovered them. Are you a festival goer or just enjoy their clothing?
Definitely feels like there was some mixed memos in the development. The electronics on the cannon are red, so red eyes would match up with that. And the energy and blast effects are blue so that would have worked. That'd have been cheaper too right. Less overall paint apps and a fewer number. I feel like when I said "I'll buy this mold every time they give to me" curled a monkeys paw. I'll take another Tony repaint with all the 80th or silver centurion effects. I doubt we'll see the cannon again. But I'll say I don't know how practical a proper effect would be beyond a thin plastic printed one. The ploom is an interesting idea, like half of the cosmic ghost rider wheel?
That is definitely Ethan Hawke. Agree with you totally on the finish, they’ve gone ahead and done what they think is right and it is, on paper, but in execution is just not quite what it needs to be.
