It would be awesome to see updates on the figure room. I think this is a ok figure to stand on a shelf but i'm not a fan of the exposed armpits and they could've put at least an ab crunch in the torso.
I don’t *hate* this figure, but man did he need a better face. This isn’t a “Sweet Christmas!”, this guy’s more of a “hey, have a good Christmas or whatever, I guess.”
Whilst not the most egregious-looking figure to feature on Anthony’s channel, it is just another typically subpar Hasbro Marvel Legends figure. I do not fancy the dull, impassive head sculpt. Progress pictures of the process of your studio/collection room sounds lovely to me, mate. Should be good fun! 🙏 And congratulations again to you and your family on the new home. 👍 Giovanni Marino, M.D.🇬🇧
Thank you. I think a HUGE miss by Hasbro is making the chain link belt removable, and possibly having an extended out one as an accessory for him to hold in his hand.
I noticed Lady Bullseye has the same weird paint/sculpture issues with the body color showing through the armpit. I picked up Blade from this line, but that’s all I could justify buying
Been waiting for classic 70s Power Man and Iron Fist, so this one will have to suffice. There will be corrections made to the pits and the head, though. And yes to basement tapes!
Dude, I appreciate that because after seeing everyone trashing the figure, I question my own sense of proportions 😂 I actually thought it was an ok figure. The legs are reflecting the baggy style of the 70s I think. But good to know that I'm not going crazy. Yeah it is super average but I doubt we'll get any better at this stage from Hasbro. And yes, all for updates on the new house, congratulations!
Wow! That yellow is bright!😂 We enjoyed the review, Anthony! Thank you for sharing! Also, we would love to see some progress pictures of your studio basement and workroom! Congratulations to you and your family! 👏
Qs of the day: Please and thank you for in-progress pics and I’m fine with the head sculpt. I guess we all have our own set of dealbreakers when it comes to aesthetics. One of mine is using an overlay on a shirted character instead of sculpting the torso and avoiding all of the associated issues like Toy Biz did what? 17 years ago? I can make it work in a display by keeping the figure in vanilla poses and looking at it straight on, but what a cheap/bonehead design decision on a highly anticipated (by many) figure.
Besides the skin showing under the arm, I don't mind the way this figure looks. When it comes to the paint of Marvel Legends figures, as long as the figure has a matte finish, I can live with it. Hasbro is gonna Hasbro. It's wild that this figure looks like a 100% new sculpt and it still wasn't perfect. I'm not a Power Man fan, but I may buy this if I see it on sale.
Anthony, I'm Glad you've adjusted to rating by the context of the line, makes the criticisms fit better for the average viewer/ collector. I used to think you were too harsh before but you are right on the money here my dude.
they could’ve taken notes from Jada with the Ryu figure and have the shirt piece be the same soft plastic as Ryu’s Gi so we can have some type of torso articulation oh and also the boot does not rotate, it’s a square peg because that makes so much sense 👍🏻
A Marvel Legends collection ends up looking good when you have hundreds of characters but they should cost something in between $10 to $25 (regular to BAF size). Thanks for the review Anthony.
the reality is that when examined through a sane educated assessment of Hasbros execution of Marvels IP the results show a lack of quality and attention to logical and reasonable standards that should be present and exist in a state of equality in regards to the product made for consumers standards. Anthony may be perceived as having a pessimistic oversight of the products in question but when examined and perceived through a inherently non-biased discernment his attitude and reviews for the greater good of the collecting community at large reflect a knowledge and wisdom that is justified and embodies the greater good of the community at large. Logic and reason suggest we demand greater quality in the product we all engage with our totality of money they misappropriate back into the future designs we all collectively anticipate (=
I’d love to see basement progress pics. And those shelf setting streams you did a while back were a lot of fun. Maybe something similar when the time comes?
Congrats on your own house. Also got one a few months back. Sure, please share your progress. Always interesting how someone puts his collector room together. And again a great (Hasbro) review. I love your honesty regarding their products. Thought making a serious jump into those figures but after holding some "good" of them in my hands and compared them with other toy lines... it is rediculous how bad they are for the given price tag. Thanks again for warning me. 😅
I swear I believe AnthonyCustoms sometimes just disagrees for the hell of it with others. Lol. I still like the videos. He's like, at first, it's not that bad, then proceeds to find more shitty things wrong with it. LMAO. Anyways, it's not the best, not the worst. Can be fixed with some paint and cutting.
No angry head...are they smoking? Have they ever seen the cover of the comic?😂 We barely get any characters that are of color and when we do, they're mostly reused. It's really frustrating as a person of color. I think everybody would have preferred the midnight son's version of Blade. Yes Anthony we definitely want to see your setup progress 👏🏾 Fwoosh articulated icons managed to figure out how to have solid articulation movement with a robe.
I want to see your updates, would be cool! I kinda like this figure but I can't understand why this guy can't get the same articulation scheme as the Ryu from Jada. What's stopping Hasbro from doing that?
Hi Anthony I’Ve been watching you since the mcfarlane Halo days And your videos are always so helpfull. So i just wanted to thank you for being such an important part of me growing up. Anyway, i was just going to answer the question of the day, and It was a Yes, i would like to see the progress on your studio c:
No excuse for not having boot cut, boot is a separate piece anyway wtf? I can live with the ball jointed waist but why did they totally shit the bed on this wave!
i have always LOVED the design of Luke Cage. He's like a 1970s disco wet dream for me, but yeah. This figure is a bit underwhelming. Still, i appreciate this review.
Terrible figure and would be cool to see the progress of the basement. I just got the super missile accessory you made and it’s wonderful, I would love if you make more items for samus, maybe a beam accessory
I quit buying figures with bored expressions. Give me a smile, a grimace, a yell... some human emotion. I really don't like the neck hinge. That's a deal breaker for me. I was excited for this figure when it was announced... and then I saw it.
Semi realistic slightly anime style heads, I hear ppl saying something like that about a lot of the things coming out... I think that's just a comic book style, and I don't have a problem with it
Love your channel btw, no disrespect intended just saying what I been thinking, keep on doing what u do, I like u cause u say what u think and mean what u say
Have heard a lot of statements about Hasbro being lazy with this or that with figs, but this one, other than the actual sculpt, has lazy all over it (no boot cut, the armpits, etc).
Even though I want a retro Luke Cage in my collection, I'm going to have to pass on this at MSRP. I'll think about it when it hits under $15. It's too much of a lazy figure that they made.
No reason for them not giving him a diaphragm joint. I’m really getting tired of Hasbro only doing one or the other for torso articulation now. He also should have come with an angry head.
