Honestly I love all the web accessories we get besides the actual swinging webline they make, the face and body web wraps have been my favorite and I use the web splats as exactly that....splats...it works great putting it in a villians hand (or on their weapon, the bigger splat even has a raised area that slots hammerheads bat perfectly) with the hand against a platform like its been webbed down. It's all about your imagination and finding new angles
Hands down, imo, the best spiderman figure to date!!! That color gecko screams animated spidey and mvc style. There's countless of times I wanted to paint my $130 retro spidey, but couldn't. But sadly I missed out on pre-orders when it was up for half a second on secret Walmart link 🤦🏿♂️
So this is out already? We're getting them pretty quick over here. I'm always made up when I see you review a figure I've pre-ordered because I always know that mine isn't far behind. Every time so far, I've ended up with an invoice a few days later. I'm guessing that Scorpion won't be far behind. It's cool that Hasbro are finally doing Avalanche now.
Just got the figure from a local hobby shop (in south east Asia)... I really love the figure and the card design, feeling nostalgia back in the 90s... So I'm feeling hesitated to rip it open.... Wanted to grab another one but it sold out fast (and afraid some people accuse me of being a scalper, lol)... So I guess I'll leave it sealed on card...
Try using a scalpel or craft knife to slice the plastic bubble close to the card. If you leave one side/the bottom/top unsliced you can slide the tray in and out. Then you can take the figure out and pop it back in.🙂

I feel the retro is more far more accurate to the animated series. Spidey was huge in the animated series but this Amazing Fantasy body is so short and a but skinnier. Plus the eye shape and colors on the retro seem more accurate. Just look at Night of the Lizard. This doesn't look like Spider-man in that. Don't get me wrong I will get this but I think the retro is better as an animated Spider-man
I know he’s not out yet, but I would go with the Amazing Friends 3-pack Spider-Man. Really like that classic look especially with the new body. That’ll be my go to Spiderman in my Marvel hero shelf
If this gets a release without the cell shading ( I'm sure it will) then I'm interested. I like the web effects good for pinning a bad guy's gun or hand to the floor. They should get the web effects for head and shoulders (came in the Demogoblin baf wave) back out there.
The best ML Spiderman of all time for me is RyV Spiderman, best design, pinless, the webs on suit are definitely more webbed shaped, love the big classic eyes, big Spidey symbole, bright red, best articulation, best accessories every pair of hand he needs and unmasked head. I even like the darker blue more than the brighter. But First appearance one is really good too I love first appearance designs, and this smaller body for younger spiderman mixed with black and red and more squinted eyes. Love this figure And still Retro one looks good to. There are still big differences between him and new one. Darker red, not big but not too small eyes, a little brighter blue, and webs on costume at least IMO they look more checkered. And still shame he didn't have wall crawling hands. Still really good position too and I really want to get this one still even If I have 2 better ones XD
The SECRET WARS RYV Spidey is to Big! To Tall! Its perhaps another Earth version of Peter (IDK for sure) but I think this Walmart Retro Spidey & the _Amazing Fantasy 15_ Spidey's our the Best one's, cause their the right size! & I Still Love _Ultimate_ - Peter Parker - _Spider-man_ w/ the ratcheted abb crunch from the Ultimate Vulture 2 pk. Cause that Spidey is/ was younger & still A kid; so it's perfect for that smaller buck.
I think this mold is a good standard size buck for Spider Man, it’s enough muscle but it’s not overly bulky like the new Renew Your Vows Spidey(not that I think that looks bad by any means, but I also would prefer Spider Man being a little bit less beefy and a little smaller to stand out as more youthful when compared to someone like Daredevil or Captain America)
The colors and overall painting design are both bautiful and accurate to the Animated Series. But come on... the 90s Animated Spidey is probably the buffest and biggest version of the character there is and they go and use the 14 year old Spider-Man mold of the Amazing Fantasy figure lol. Figure's still nice though. Good to pretend it's the teenage skinny version of the 90s animated Spidey but not the adult version we saw on TV back in the day.
Hasbro announced during SDCC week that they backtracked on Retro style packaging having plastics for all brands so there will be more Retro packaging products coming down the line
“Some actually think this body has more articulation and range than the Spinneret two-pack version but to each their own”. You make it sound like it’s an opinion. Yes the RYV Spidey has more articulation, that’s a fact but it’s also a fact that this Animated Spidey and First Appearance Spidey have more range than RYV Spidey. An opinion would be “I think this Spidey is better than that Spidey” or “I like this Spidey better than the other one”. Several reviewers have already compared RYV Spidey to FA Spidey and FA had better range of motion. But hey, I say you do a comparison yourself and post a short video on YT or IG. Or maybe take it a little further and do like a video of of several Spideys to see who ultimately has the better range of motion. Anyways, not busting your chops, still a good review as always.
I don't know why they are only continuing with the retro carded ones in 3.75 but whatever. I just hope they give us Morbius, Prowler, Vulture, Kraven, Chameleon, maybe Harry Osborn, Smythe, Robbie Robertson, Aunt May, MJ in cowboy boots, etc
6:31 - 6:53 It's not the exact same figure. Shoulders and parts of the arm are from RYV Spider-Man. They are unfortunately much smaller with less range. Daredevil is also stuck with these tiny shoulders.
Is it possible to remove the cell shading in order to get a proper looking spider man? Or do we have to buy the very pricey 3-pack with at least 1- 2 not wanted figures?

I already picked up all 6 of the animated, cell shaded x-men that are available in the states....and i have Cyclops and Mystique on preorder. I got that animated style retro carded Apocalypse as well the other day. Even though he's not cell shaded.....definitely goes with my animated legends figures. My bad....kinda dropped a novel here....had a lot to speak on, on the subject.
The figure looks great in terms of sculpt and articulation, but there's something off about the colors to me. Either the reds are too dark or the blues are too light or something.This does make me feel like the Spider-Man in the Amazing Friends 3-pack will be a definitive version of Spidey if he uses this body
TAS Spider-man is basically a blue purple with a cool red. The shading being dark purple. While there are certain scenes where it's noticeably blue. It's usually more the day scenes but a lot of the show takes place at night.
Yeeez next to the new releases the vintage 2020 looks aaaaaawful XD. This one looks cool, just the head of this ones looks really odd so RYV takes the cake for me.

I think either this new cel shaded one or the amazing fantasy with added renew your vows feet are the best,I had the greatest time taking pictures with those. The only thing missing is a good ab crunch. Has anyone tried modding the ab crunch?
Thanks for the review. This review is rubbish how dare you not put the Spider-Man animated theme song at the end such heresy Dan (LOL). I have no interest in a VHS Spider-Man line my wallet says no but heart will most likely say yes.
All the retro Spidey figures were great Whether the new is better or not is just based on someone else's opinion. But I like this new classic 90s cartoon spider man just a bit better due to it being new lol . But really the lighter blue color is awesome for a change it looks more vibrant. And more like it's based on the 90s cartoon. Then the previous ones. That's all the difference to me. But let's not forget the best now inn my opinion is the amazing fantasy first appearance spider man figure. But this one comes close to it and it looks great. But I think it's got the same body mold as the amazing fantasy first appearance spider man. And that my friend. Is where Hasbro need to be. With this version and body mold. With spider man. For now. It's about time they got everything right with this new body mold. The articulations that shows that it's not necessary to have to put pull down legs for agility. The poses on this body mold are the best. For this new Spider man . then our previous ones. Inn Many ways it still need some work but the figure is done the way I always dreamed they made it. Hopefully this new figure won't be hard to get and sold at a good price. Because it just looks Awesome. Nice review. 👍🏻
Feel like he should be a bit broader, the animated look was always chunkier. Think this is more lazy reuse from Hasbro, they really love cashing in on spidey.
The way i look it at is that this one is an animated version, that looks closer to the animated of course, but also the 1980's version of Spiderman. Renew your vows version is a 90's version....like a cross between McFarlane and Bagley versions of Spiderman to me.
