Ngl for the shf tobey I personally think its a mix between the original lenses and the no way home design, which im gonna be honest was a pretty good decision on their part
I love the three pack, but I feel like Tobey’s red is too bright. With the re-release coming at Christmas I hope they repaint the figure with a darker red tone. My only other problem is the laziness hasbro had on the Tom holland Spider-Man, particularly on the gauntlets still being present and the hands having webs. Other than that the three pack was everything I was looking for. I did however pick up my one and only SH figuarts Tobey Maguire Spider-Man.
The metallic sheen on the sh figuarts Andrew is definitely more accurate, though I think it should be a little darker of a red. The best scene that you can really see the metallicy look is when he’s talking to Gwen after fighting electro in time square. (Tasm 2) It’s super evident there.
would’ve looked weird if the red was any darker. i was actually thinking the SHF andrew’s coloring had too dark of a red lol but hey that’s just my opinion
for comparisons: i'd suggest using the JPY list price converted. BBTS will always be more expensive and are not what the "true" msrp of these are and budget upon.
7:52 The head is similar, but not the same. The NWH one has a very subtle cloth texture, the civil war either doesn’t or has an even more subtle texture. The civil war also has sharper black lenses over the NWH. If you have both in hand it is easier to see, but with picture online I understand the confusion. Great video!
With Garfield's Spider-man the metallic color paints may fade over time. Also, the Amazing Spider-man 2's costume was not metallic. It was more of a satin material. In the first Toby movie the web lines were more silver, but the edges were darker. With Tobey's Spider-man costume, the webs changed to gunmetal instead of bright silver.
I got the Andrew Shf fig. I used my homecoming mafex fist hands to substitute for the lack of fist hands. Paints off but it looks alright in my opinion
The SH Figuarts Nwh Tobey Spider-Man are based on his appearance in Nwh too but they remove the extra web line between the lenses, make the mask looks close to the original Sam Raimi trilogy mask
Cool review dude and exactly i was saying that 7:43 the tom (marvel legends version) is just the reused head from civil war which makes some of the fans being mad but tobey and andrew are the best for me tho of 3 pack and yeah sh figuarts does much capture the movie versions of the actors and thats why i really love them and marvel legends of ML does much look like tasm 2 spiderman from 2014 movie it really looks completely like the movie suit but doesn't sometimes look like no way home movie tho sometimes and love the video dude great comparision ❤️❤️
The Andrew Garfield I am so glad we have. Both of them. I've been waiting for some updated Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man 2 figures because that's my favorite suit. I have the figure arts and my only real problems with it is that he has zero muscle, I feel like they could have gave him at least a little bit, in the bottom half of his face seems too small.
The only figure on the more expensive side I bought is Mafex's Gwenpool figure, cuz of the Gurihiru art style. Also it had a shit ton of accessories. Other than that, 99% of the time, I wouldn't pay that much money for a toy, just out of principle. Great video.
I'm really not enjoying Tom Hollands version in each of these. He looks so different from the two it really stands out. What I would have loved, and I know that they didn't do it because of the movie, and it wouldn't make sense, but what I would have loved is for Tom Hollands figure to be his homecoming suit so they could all have like that same red and blue but in their own style
Well, I can't knock the figures for what they chose to do in the movie, though I do understand that frustration. Cool thing is, shfiguarts are releasing the suit at the end of the movie as its own release. So if you to have that more classic looking suit depicted by Tom's Spidey, that's a pretty good option.
@@starblaststudios that is pretty damn cool and I am excited for that, although It's oddly missing the lines that I thought I saw in the costume where the blue is. It had some sort of texture design on it that I'm not seeing in the figure maybe they have decided against it for some reason. I am really hoping that sometime in the future they do a re-release of the homecoming figure though. I noticed they do like to do re-releases. Or maybe mafex will redo there's because honestly it was better in my opinion
The main reason the 3 pack is better is you get all 3 cheaper then just 1 Sh.F so of course there will be some downsides just like comparing Sh.f to hot toys lol
In my opinion Andrew’s suit looks the worst out of the three (figurarts) even though he is the second best Spider-Man… I just don’t like it, it looks idk animated? Both his high and face sculpt it amazing but that suit is lacking I don’t know if the movie Spider-Man suit looks like that but it’s looks similar to TAS2 suit.
On the non hasbri I forgot the name Andrew’s body feels weird. And the has to one has like no layers or depth I don’t like either. And his chin ( the non hasbro ) his chin is non existent
I like the Legend's Andrew figure more, I feel like proportions aren't brought up enough with SH conversations, because they get it so wrong very often, and we don't want to admit the faults of the premium figures we pay hundreds of dollars for, but the SH Andrew is pretty weak imo, color, proportions, aren't as good as the legends, and the SH Toby has a diaper which kills it for me. The Holland is better, absolutely, but for the price difference between the Legends vs the SH's, I honestly think you get better value from the Legends, nobody is going to notice the slightly better paint sculpt of the SH's on the shelf, but they may notice the weird proportions and obvious bad looking joints.
A lot of valid points to be had here. I can very much get behind why you like the look ML Andrew more. For me, both look good and I leave it to personal preference. As for Tobey, I don't personally find the floating piece above the legs as a problem, but I understand why you and others do. Both of these sets have massive pros and cons, so it naturally leaves a lot of people with mixed opinions.
Price is just a huge factor. Yeah, SH Figuarts have better articulation and accessories but at almost $100 each that's a lot vs $30+. One has to keep wondering why Hasbro drop the ball in accessories for the 3 pack.
After seeing the new Hasbro toby spider-man compared to toy biz. Toy biz versions is more muscler while this new version has small and thin hands. And because of that im not going to get him becasue he looks more like spider boy instead of spiderman 😢
damn dude, my Spider Tom figure came with the same problem, the diference is that his leg can fall apart easily just for moving it, it's very stressful ;-;
I see you came here after seeing spider criminal's vid lol. You ain't wrong, the paint is objectively off, and I wish I was more critical of it in the video.
@@starblaststudios it’s ok. It’s such a minor thing to deal with. Considering the metric ton of things that are worse in the US, it’s a fair trade off. Haha
@@starblaststudios "Sik" is my signature, so it kinda doesn't count in the sentence per say, but I appreciate your unwavering method of pointing out potential grammatical/contextual errors on my part! Lol! ...really tho, homie, if your legends joints are too tight, just put them in a bowl of hot (not boiling) water for 3-5 min. They'll move like butter... most of the time. Sik
@@sik7476 yeah, I was just messing with you lol. Anyways I get that it's easy to loosen the joints, and I even have silicon shock oil for doing so. But for this video, the purpose is to judge the figures for how they are out of the box to provide a fair and authentic comparison. The thing is, even if the marvel legends joints moved around perfectly, I still would've handed it to shfiguarts since they provide an overall better range of motion.
@@starblaststudios yeah, I dig it. The only problem I have with the import figures (s.h., figma, even mafex), the joints get super loose after a few years...to the point that peices start just falling off. Lol! Don't get me wrong, ML has some definite shortcomings, but I think for a price vs. price comparison, it's pretty much a wash. $100 bucks for 3 okay figures, with zero accessories, but are pretty resilient, or $300 bucks for 3 pretty awesome figures, with lots of accessories, that will probably loosen and fade over time. Could go either way, I feel. Sik
@@sik7476 yup! Exactly! Like I said in the vid, the biggest factor is the price. What you typed out is essentially the reason I found this comparison to be so interesting. I've collected many shfiguarts, especially from the Dragonball line, and I found them to be pretty stable overtime. I suppose it can vary with some figures. If the joints ever do loosen up too much though, there is products out there to help fix that such as the Dr. Dstar fixer elixir.
