growing up in a Nazi Concentration camp with power over Metal, He began embarking on a Crusade to make Mutants the Future of Evolution. That all changed when he met Charles Xavier, whose belief that Mutants and Humanity will live in Peace. Erik Lensherr stood against that. He believes that Mutants should take their rightful Place as the Dominant Species. As Charles Xavier formed The X-Men, Erik formed the Brotherhood of Mutants, and from then on, He would become one of The Marvel Universe's most dangerous villains, Magneto.

In the original timeline where the Days of Future Past future happened mutants being wiped out was partly Magneto's fault. If he hadn't tried to use the machine to try to turn everyone into mutants in X-Men 1 Stryker wouldn't have had an excuse to try and wipe mutants out in 2. Bringing Jean into the Brotherhood in her uncontrollable Phoenix persona in 3 also backfired on him when she started indiscriminately killing humans and mutants. And Trask Industries perfecting the Sentinels over the years was in response to his actions as well as Mystique killing Trask.

mMagneto was so right., Charles abandoned all the mutants. Charles should never have given in but he was the weaker character in the series. Bob L Magento was right inevery sense of the word.
