As a person of Mexican heritage, seeing Namor and the Atlantians take on such a beautiful interpretation of Aztec and Mayan culture means so much to me. Tenoch Huerta, the actor for Namor, seems to have given us the representation we needed as we’ve unfortunately really only had stereotypical tropes to hold on to in the MCU. The presentation of African and Latin American cultures in Wakanda Forever is truly much more important than many people believe it to be, and they’re nailing every second of it.
It was announced at the panel that Black Panther Wakanda Forever is the end of phase 4. Antman 3 is the beginning of phase 5 and ends with The Thunderbolts. Phase 6 starts with The Fantastic Four and ends with Avengers Secret Wars.
“I’m am Queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone. Have I not given enough?”…… the way Angela delivered that line was heartbreaking. You can tell that especially for scenes like that, that won’t be acting. Those emotions are real.
I still don't get how fast people lose confidence in someone who has built a successful franchise that's 10 years in the making. Feige has a plan and I'm here for all of it mates. Good stuff Jay and Adam, as usual. 🔥
In the comics, Namor has often gone around in only green swim briefs. He also has pointed ears (like the guy walking out of the water) and wings on his ankles (like the baby born underwater). Namor also commands sealife (like the whales with soldiers riding all around them). Yes, you are correct. That was Namor.👍
It makes no sense to even wear more clothes then that if you live underwater, clothes are really to protect against the elements like cold winds and Rain but if you live underwater?
Daredevil is 18 episodes for Season 1. That's how Feige worded it in the panel. Also, love how Jay got a bit emotional hearing it. I'm over the moon excited
Watching Angela Bassett (the most under-utilized actor in the first movie) chew up those scenes in Wakanda Forever is going to be an absolute religious experience
I agree. Kevin seems to genuinely care about the fans. I've always loved that about him. Yeah MCU will have misses, but he made it the MOST successful movie franchise. I don't think anyone could do that if they just were in it for the money. So a huge thank you Kevin, and a huge thank you to every single person who's worked on these projects.
Quick correction (though this may be realized before the video ends): Phase Four will actually be concluding with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Ant Man and the Wasp will be the opening of Phase Five. Love the vids, just wanted to clarify this.
Hearing you talk about Matt Murdock HAS TO APPEAR in She-Hulk, I was giggling like crazy. The reaction at the end of the trailer, priceless. Yes, that was indeed, Namor the Sub Mariner.
1. They still have P6 to fully announce. FF starts it, bookended by the Two Avengers films. They have 8+ projects being announced at D23 on September 10. 2. Daredevil is indeed 18 episodes. Confirmed by Feige.
I was surprised to see Ironheart. But now I'm starting to understand the way they are moving the MCU forward and introducing new characters the way they are doing. It's just so damn hard to replace powerhouses like Chadwick and Downey Jr.
9:58 My wife and I are currently making our way through the Netflix Marvel shows. We literally just finished season 1 of Luke Cage an hour ago. Iron Fist is next. I'm both interested and dreading finding out why it's so bad.
With the first BP movie in production at the same time as Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Ant-Man & The Wasp, it got short-changed in terms of the amount of time its VFX teams got to work on the movie relative to those other 3 movies. I'm glad they saw it as a priority to rectify that this time round! Also having Autumn Duralde - the cinematographer from the Loki show on board looks to have paid off with the stunning visuals! Having Doom as a background schemer who manipulates Namor into attacking Wakanda would be a great way to introduce him to the MCU!
In End game, when they were holding a conference with black widow…wakanda had something in the ocean and they were trying to find out what it was…it was him.
They're 100% fighting Atlantis. They've changed it to be Mayan and Aztec, so that's really awesome. I'm excited for Namor to come in, and hope he gets to interact with Sue Storm.
Some of my friends: Clearly there’s not a perfect way to do Fantastic Four Me: Yes there is. Have you not seen The Incredibles? It’s a perfect Fantastic Four! Give us that in love action!
Kang and Dr Doom have worked together in comics and are actually distant relatives. Kang and Doom are eventually going to be revealed to be working together…either reluctantly or not
I am still in time for the Birthday weekend!! Happy Birthday Jay from Nova Scotia. All the best to you. As always you both Rock and make me smile plus great info and details I don't know. Cool. Cheers guys. Oh and holy Wow what great movies are coming 😎😍😁😄
For you guys who don’t know, Namor’s Atlantis has been changed in terms of culture instead of being from its Mediterranean folklore from Greek writings it will be based on Aztec/Mayan culture from the Americas primarily from the cultures of Mexico This change didn’t need to be but hopefully it will be very well written
There is a moment in End Game were Okoye is talking to Nat about an earthquake under the sea so yeah is Namor. That trailer was awesome. As for the She Hulk's show, i was totally skeptical at the first teaser, but now after seeing this one...I'M ABSOLUTELY IN Haha.
They did a separate panel for the animated stuff and announced Freshman Year, Marvel Zombies, What If 2, and X-Men 97 are all coming out like next year.
you may have missed it.. Hall H was on saturday...on Friday was the animated release where they talked about What If...? season 2, Marvel zombies, spider-man freshman year, and X-Men 97
Some corrections: Black Panther ends Phase 4. All of the Marvel animated shows were announced in a separate panel. Ant Man begins Phase 5. Thunderbolts ends Phase 5. Also Wakanda fights Atlantis in the comics.
And there's more to be announced at d23, crazy times!! My theory for Secret Wars is that when Kang is beaten in The Kang Dynasty, Doom will swoop in and do Doomy stuff and then create Battle World. I can't see them using The Beyonders haha
The best part about this video, is this very morning I was explaining to a coworker about how the entire experience of eating a Drumstick was about building up to the climactic final bite of chocolate filled waffle cone. That's like crazy uncanny. Love it.
A few stuff: Loki s2 has already started shooting (more or less) The animation stuff was another separeted panel In phase six there are a few date without any show or movie attached, so there could put proyects like armor wars and other stuff.
They hinted at Namor in End Game, so it’s cool that they’re bringing him to the big screen for the first time, in a Black Panther movie. The trailer is dope.
Wakanda Forever is taking the right path. It's a film about Legacy, and the bonus is that it's not a theme out of left field. They established that in Civil War and continued that throughout Black Panther and Infinity War.
What If...? Season 2 (2023), X-Men '97, Marvel Zombies (2024) & Spider-Man: Freshman Year (2024) were all discussed at the Marvel Animation panel on Friday. What If...? is getting a season 3 and Spider-Man: Freshman Year (which doesn't seem to be a Spider-Man: Homecoming prequel after all) is getting a second season titled "Sophomore Year". Phase 4 ends with "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever". Phase 5 begins with "Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and ends with "Thunderbolts". The movies which weren't discussed were still featured in the movie panel art and are still coming on the dates that were last announced. Phase 6 begins with "Fantastic Four" and ends with the two new Avengers movies - but there are 8 as yet unannounced entries in Phase 6.
Wakanda has been through it. Two passed kings, a Wakandan trying to start a civil war, aliens breaking through the shield and destroying the country, half of it's people snapped away, brought back their king and then he died soon after. And now an angry aqua people.
Wakanda Forever is going to be amazing. What I'm REALLY hoping, is that the mantle of Black Panther goes to Lupita Nyong'o, who we eventually find out is pregnant with T'Challa's son and heir to the throne of Wakanda. They will probably hand it off to Shuri, but I'd really rather it go to Nakia.
You guys need to check all the Phase 5 announcement vids on RU-vid for the full scoop--Wakanda Forever is actually the end of Phase 4, Quantumania is the start of Phase 5, Cox & D'Onofrio were confirmed for Echo, The Marvels were announced for July, Loki 2 is already filming, 18 episodes for DD is firm, Thunderbolts will be the end of Phase 5, and F4 is the start of Phase 6.
Oh no, TOTALLY agree. F4 is phenomenally important & I feel absolutely certain Feige knows it. Getting them right is as critical as anything the MCU has ever done. Not more pivotal than the Avengers team or building out the universe with heroes who reflect more of the world, but equally important to holding it all together going forward.
The Marvel's was announced with that group of movies/shows you guys talked about, but for some reason wasn't in the list you were referencing. Also, the Thunderbolts ends Phase 5, and the beginning of Phase 6 is FF. And the 2 Avengers movies ends Phase 6, and there was like 10 things in between FF and Avengers 5 and 6. Which one of them, you'd think has to be the X-Men.
Black Panther two ends phase 4, Ant-man three starts phase 5, thunderbolts ends phase 5. F4 starts phase 6 with Avengers SW ending phase 6. There’s also still eight unannounced titles for phase 6 that I’m sure will get more information on during D23
The Marvels is happening. Next July. There’s also a whole article about Marvel animation that tells you more, especially about all the animation shows like Zombies and What If..? S2. There’s also a lot of information not on this list like castings, specific characters, etc. Some leaked animation pics as well. Some of the best news wasn’t officially posted by Marvel themselves. Also Wakanda Forever is the true end of Phase 4 and Thunderbolts ends Phase 5.
The Marvels is still happening guys. I don't know where you guys were getting your info from exactly, but there's plenty of videos of the panel circulating online, plus official news articles, to tell you everything you needed to know about the release slates. There were release dates and time frames that didn't have titles attached to them. Wakanda Forever is the last movie of Phase 4 and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is the last Disney+ release thereof. Meanwhile, Quantumania begins Phase 5, which subsequently ends in Summer/Fall of 2024, with Fantastic Four beginning Phase 6 in November of 2024. The actual notable absences of announcements at this panel was the placement in the release slate of some titles that they actually announced on Friday for Disney+, namely I Am Groot 5 short episodes dropping August 10 this year, What If...? dropping sometime next year, along with X-Men '97 season 1 in Fall of 2023, and Spider-Man: Freshman Year dropping sometime in 2024. Also Marvel Zombies which doesn't have a release date yet. We didn't hear any news about Armor Wars, the apparent Werewolf By Night Halloween Special supposedly coming out this year, Deadpool 3, Shang-Chi 2, a mutant-centric film, a Scarlet Johansson produced film, and the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland. February 16, 2024 currently doesn't have a title attached, so that's at least one Phase 5 movie as yet unknown. Also Phase 6 movies have yet to be announced for the release dates of February 14 and July 25 of 2025. Some other Disney+ developments we're still waiting on news about: Spider-Man: Sophomore Year, a Nova series, a Wonder Man series, a Wakandan set series, and What If...? Season 3.
What If? and Marvel Zombies we’re announced at Marvel’s animation panel. Marvel Zombies has a TV MA rating which is huge. The Marvels did get a quick nod so it’s for sure happening and there was a lot of blank places on the phase 6 timeline and they said they had more announcements for D23 in September so Armor Wars and more stuff like Young Avengers and maybe a Scarlet Witch movie will probably be announced then.
I loved your all’s reactions to the announcements and trailers ^^ Just a few things that I’m sure some people have mentioned by now. Wakanda Forever is the end of Phase 4. Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantamania is the beginning of Phase 5 The Marvels was announced and is before Blade Thunderbolts ends Phase 5 Fantastic 4 begins Phase 6. The animated shows were announced in a separate panel the day before. Just figured you would like to know ^^ Also they released pictures of the graphs they made for all three phases with the titles for each one
All of these new stuff is insane - Wakanda Forever looks gorgeous and I keep crying every time I see someone react to it. It also feels like the mcu is building its own multiverse because of what if and now what if season two, along with the separate marvel zombies show, x-men show, and spider-man the freshman years. it still feels a bit like an overload of media but i'm pretty pumped. the phase stuff is also kind of weird cus like...phase 5 is apparently just a year? don't understand that... Also...to just tack on as someone who's an aspiring vfx artist and wants to be apart of marvel so she's looking into that stuff...all of these recent shows were filmed and edited in bulk, these movies and shows crossed over so much it was a nightmare. Apparently also, marvel studios just has a history of treating their vfx artists horribly and overworks them. So unfortunately that's also apart of the quality of vfx looking kind of sh*tty or rushed. (however, the only complaint of vfx that I can really get behind is the fact that she-hulk is supposed to be more buff than that. I think she looks accurate to some of the comics but there's people who want who to be more buff than slim. which...I kind of see and can kind of get). also also, wong really out here being the character connecting all this phase 4 stuff together XD
Absolutely beatiful trailer Wakanda forever i like the fact the producers don't avoid Chadwick is dead and make a trailer and a movie where that is tackled with so much love. A fact is not mentioned guys is Kevin Feige says Spiderman is gonna be a more street superhero and for that mission the one who is gonna be with him on his adventures is Daredevil, that will be amazing because is what happen on the comics and in the 90's Spiderman show. Great video i watched from the begining, love you guys.
I think I feel the same about the Fantastic 4, it’s a franchise that can ground Marvel with some core characters that we love over several movies and shows just like all of the original Avengers did. Think you’re right on this Jay 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Reportedly, Thunderbolts is said to be the last film in Phase Five. Not sure if that is official from the Halls, or if people are speculating. But, if it is, that would make Fantastic Four the start of Phase Six.
Don't sleep on Agatha. They have a lot of room to play with Wanda but expand things also. She was Reed Richards nanny for Franklin in the comics as well as her son was banished to Hell with Mephisto. He was also tied up with Dormammmu.
There are images out there and announcements. Phase 5 in order Quantumania; Secret Invasion D+ show, Guardians 3; Echo D+ show; Lokie S2 D+; The Marvels; Blade; IronHeart D+; Agatha D+; Daredevil D+; CA New World Order. Marvel Phase F4 and the 2 Avengers Movies with 8 open blank spots available.
Awesome video guys! Always exciting hearing your thoughts! The song choice being 'everything is gonna be alright' - I really needed to hear that. I have been negative about wakanda forever since Chadwick's Passing 2 years ago. But this movie is gonna slap, the Black Panther mantle will be passed on, and everything is gonna be alright.
