I love how the announcer sounds when he announces the name of the supers. Like a sports commentator after witnessing a home run in baseball or a goal in soccer. He just sounds really hyped and excited.
This game has the hypest announcer in fighting game history haha. I clearly remember this cabinet screaming over everything else in the arcade the first time I saw it.
Sadly the names of hyper combo finishing moves are not anymore said by the announcer on the later games. This is why Marvel Vs Street Fighter have a place in my heart. Very proud to scream all this hyper combo finishing moves during the day when I'm still playing it on arcade cabinets.
The Super Street Fighter IV announcer seems to stick with "ULTRA COMBO FINISH!" If Ike uses Great Aether.... Super name appears, we hear "HYPER COMBO FINISH!"
Dan’s best Supers are when he just does something silly, like doing a long taunt or signing an autograph, something that brings out Dan’s personality. Every time I see that it makes putting him into any Capcom fighting game worthwhile. I love it
@@maloperverso8118 Well… sort of. See in the 90s Capcom and SNK were making fighting games and one in particular Art of Fighting was released and Capcom basically said “Wait a minute they look like Street Fighter ok if they are going to rip-off our characters we can do the same of them!” So Dan Hibiki was created in response to SNK’s ripoffs of Capcom characters. Specifically Ryo Sakazuki and Robert Garcia from AoF. And all of this is THE reason as to why Dan’s attacks and strength are pathetic, it’s all on purpose and next to Sean he’s the weakest of the Shotos
Even though Dan's just a joke character, both in game and in the Capcom lore; in the hands of a veteran player, he's one of the deadliest close-range characters. Don't let his foolish demeanor trick you.
This game in arcades was the best thing ever, there were always crowds around it, the super move sequences and effects are the best in the series too, even better than the new games
Makes sense. Since knee press is a body building routine that has nothing to do with Bison attack. Is like calling a Superman punch a flexing dream, or calling the gama crusher nightmare bench press
@@laserjet2000 Though it looks weird to native English speakers,, that's actually an acceptable way for a Japanese person to write it in Roman letters. The sound "tsu" (つ) in Japanese can be typed on a computer by simply entering "tu" and converting it. So they just reverse-converted つ to "tu". If you're interested, Google "Japanese Romanization Systems".
Seriously. I managed to grab the Japanese import for the Saturn when it originally came out. That's still the best way to play the game. You get Norimaro, plus Mech Gouki is playable. Almost as hype as the announcer
I still think that’s the coolest thing in a fighting game ever. Blew my mind as a kid when that hyped up announcer screamed the name as it filled the screen

Alternate color references: - Blackheart: Wendigo - Captain America: Hydra colors - Cyclops: X-Force uniform or movie colors? - Hulk: Grey Hulk - Omega Red: Could be the Acolytes' costume colors? - Not sure about Shuma Gorath - Spider-Man: Could be the concept art by Alex Ross? - Wolverine: Brown costume? - Akuma: Not sure - Dan: Not sure - Dhalsim: Necro (SF3 came out in 97 too) - Ken: Sean Matsuda - Bison/Vega: Shin Bison? - Sakura: Not sure - Zangief: Not sure
Shuma-Gorath had the wrong colors when it first appeared in Marvel Super Heroes according to Capcom. Sakura's colors might be from her appearance in Rival Schools.
That's how I found the game for the first time. I walked into a mall arcade and heard this game screaming over everything else. Freaked out when I realized what it was!
I've been thinking about this theory ever since the collection was announced, has anyone ever thought they were going to use Darkstallers for MSH? Its just kind of lack luster to use SF again with Dan and Sakura. I get Darkstalkers didn't take off and decided SF is the most popular to go with again. But i had this weird feeling whenever i see Shuma and Black Heart, it just screams Darkstalkers crossover. Radioactive human spider paired with a succubus isn't so jarring after all.
Is this a Mandela effect cause i played this game 100s of time on PlayStation 1 and 2 and never heard the announcer get busy like that for each hyper combo like wooow
Seriously. Can you believe the only good home versions of XMvsSF and MSHvsSF exist as Sega Saturn Japanese imports or Arcade1UP cabinets? (Outside of emulation, of course)
Bruh no matter how hard I tried I could never get the nerdy dude with the glasses 😪 can someone tell me what was the correct code to get him as a playable character
@DoctorBadvibes really!!!!! I remember online with the codes to get all the secret characters they said you had to beat the game without losing a round 🤣. Thanks for

I'm amazed that this still hasn't happened. You can basically buy the ultimate MVC collection if you get the MVC2 Arcade1Up cabinet. If that same collection were put out on consoles and PC, you know we'd all buy that up. To this day, the only decent home version of MSH vs SF is on the freaking Sega Saturn ... and it only had a Japan release!
I don't think I've ever been so upset over playing a video game in my entire life. Have an emulator with this game and the original Marvel Super Heroes and I can't for the life of me get Infinity combos or hyper combos to work on either game it's so depressing. Every other move in the game works 😢😭 I don't know if there's something wrong with the game or I'm just too dumb to figure out the combos 😭😭😭
I’d guess something may be off with the emulator or maybe even the controller or display? Those games don’t require super tight inputs or anything. I ran into issues when I played on a super laggy display. I legit thought I forgot how to play X-Men vs Street Fighter. I switched monitors and realized I’d been playing with like a 1-2 sec delay. Though, I’d say it’s more likely something else could be introducing lag or eating your inputs.
@@DoctorBadvibes I'm not very techy and I'm a total noob to arcade games so that doesn't help either. I'm playing it on this cheap gamestick4Klite thing I got from my brother with a bunch of random games on it. It's just annoying because I don't know for sure if it's an issue with the game or I'm just so bad I can't figure it out but like I said all the other moves work according to all the guides I've seen on the web lol
@@ihebselfdefense6863 I'm not sure if it has a proper name, but it's just the hyper combo background animation from Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter
