I only found this out today, the clock in the background actually tells the real time according to your console's internal clock.. it works on all versions of the game.
All of modern American music came from jazz. Maybe modern jazz suck but from the 1920s-1980s Jazz had its moments then John Tesh and Kenny G came and whiten it out of existance (except for Basketball rock which the NBA needs to buy back from NBC )but sometimes I listen to Yonni-sp. I suggest Thelonius Monk, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gilepsie. Seatbelts the band that did the music for cowboy bebop were inspired by them and there bebop style. For Hipster points its a bit passe' but suggest you like Sun Ra and Django Rheinhardt-sp. Black Sabbath and Deep Purple were heavy into jazz and help create heavy metal. The Rat Pack Sammy Frank Dean ect. were crooner its jazz sets. All the Disney Warner Bros cartoons are jazz sets, all classic american movie musicals from Gershwin Roger and Hammerstien its jazz. The first talking picture was the Jazz singer not much jazz music but its name is on there jazz. Bill Haley and the Comets were inspired by Louis Jordan style of swing jazz and jump blues to make the Rock n Roll sound (i already know the rest blues country swing bluegrass yadda yadda electric guitars). Disco, Funk, Hip Hop 'originally' all come from jazz music.
love this song, love this game. did you know on this stage, select venom and use the venom web to kill your final opponent at the very right of the stage, the tower shoud fall over. Peace
I love the way the piano chords move in this song...and don't even get me started on the stupid sick piano and guitar solos. One day imma sit down and learn this song.
i see we have similar tastes. i usually choose Cable (Variety type), B.B. Hood (Variety type), and Iron Man or War Machine (either way, i have IM and WM as Anti-air types)
This game's soundtrack, while hard to imagine in its setting without watching gameplay, is definitely best appreciated while watching superheroes beat the living crap out of each other.
The music fight very well with the fighting :) Nothing better than the guy saying "Air combo" while you beat the crap outta someone to some groovin' jazz
i think this music is a branch of Jazz or is Jazz and it fits the game well, is good to hear this tracks instead of other stuff that just dont go with good games.
I remember breaking the bell off with ken when i used ken's Senpukyaku special on hulk and kick that ass! It was hysterical and the ps2 version before everyone went gay Mag-storm-sentinel on everybody that doesn't know how to block the combo. Even Psylocke is being used often now to start up that cheap ass combo. It was nice to hear this theme and remember the good i used to have playing this game.
Wow, I remember those days myself homie. I remember heading to the movies with my younger cousin and watch him destroy everyone that came to challenge him until it was time for us to go to the movie. Everyone had a different strategy and used finesse...now its just people spamming the same cheap attacks. Oh and this song is the shit lol.
In order for that to happen, MvC2 needs to be selling well. Capcom say that if this re-release does that, it will spark interest with Marvel and there could be a 3rd entry.
To the person who wrote me saying that jazz isnt coherent. I dont think you listen to jazz because any rendition of Night in Tunisa or Cherokee sounds coherent. All music has categories cant compare all rock bands to Slayer much less comparing fusion/acid/free jazz to swing or dixieland. I think this music is influenced by bebop and light jazz.
@wiidollar You can download a dreamcast Emulator and play it on there, there's ISO's of it around for sure. Or if you look online people have put the game file up on torrent sites so that all you have to do is download the files, burn it to a DVD and you can play it on a PS2 and stuf f.
Your Welcome! i can't belive it is not on any cheat sites. If i can find anyone else who can do the egg i will post it here. Spred the word about it!! :)
Mine's often: Jill, Rogue and Ryu.. but I often also select characters as Venom, Spidey, B. B. Hood and Hayato (hope i spelled it right, it's the Capcom character with a beamsword)
you mean Sprites, not spirits :p on topic: it'll be AWESOME to have that MvC3 using 2D characters... how'bout adding some more characters to the actual 56 :P!!
cool...comic-wise, my character is Spider-Man. Despite him not quite being a favorite for his gameplay, people buy the game for the fact his face was on the cover. People probably wouldn't buy the game if he wasn't in it.
@shoNuuff Driving rock and metal and techno stuff is over rated in fighting games. However it fits right in with Guilty Gear and Blazblue. Even King of Fighters have lots of jazz and funk tunes. I feel that this music still gives the player that sense of action and rush that you speak of, not because it isnt smooth jazz, but because it has a driving beat that gets you in the groove and very powerful brass. I guess it may be an acquired taste, but I think it tastes just right, lol. :P
I have no problem with the type of music in MvC2 but to me, it was too different from the previous games. The creators hit the nail right on the head with the music in XvSF and MvC. I think they should have continued with that style.
