In the 90s there was nothing bigger then X-men and nothing bigger then Street Fighter at the arcade so the crossover was a marvelous.

This is a top 10 video in my book, well researched and covered. These games are a biography of our lives. Of course we know who the X-Men are, wanted them in MvC infinate and will never forget them. I have since my teenage years spent thousands upon thousands of hours on MVC2 and nothing will ever come close. I have played it on arcade cabinets in my youth, in my early years of working life, on a few different consoles, using both thumbs on my iphone, and now I'm still emulating it on PC. I even just fired it up last night with a USB joystick. In comparison I've clocked 6 hours on my MVC:Infinite. They'll never reach the peak of MVC2 ever again. - Venom/Blackheart/Strider main

Am I the only one who finds the colors of MvC 3 to be too dark overall? In most other games of the series, bright colors and sunny stages are practically everywhere. In MvC3, it is either night or a cloudy day. It takes away a lot of the enjoyment from looking at those cool cartoon characters beat up each other.

Every game in this series should get an updated and revamped re-release for digital download on ALL current and next-gen systems! PS4 & 5, Xbox one, Series S & X, Nintendo Switch, and PC!

I loved X-Men Vs Street Fighter and Marvel Vs Capcom 1. Cause of how awesome these games are, I accepted the fact that the Supers were easier to pull off then other Street Fighters. Capcom releasing simple controls continually after taking the time to master the inputs made me feel like I wasn't playing Street Fighter, then moving on to Capcom Vs Snk 2. I fully agree with you TopHatGM. There should have been a hardcore mode with six button controls, the Character design going down hill, the X-Men missing along with the stupid excuses, Capcoms greed by releasing the same Street Fighter over and over with little added content. Matter of fact, I agree with everything you say in your videos I've watched and I'm not trying too. Iv'e also learnt a lot from you about my favourite games. I love the series. My first contact with it was at a friend's pub. He installed the Marvel Superheroes cabinet and it was a huge success, the most popular arcade by far in our small town at the time. I still remember as a highlight a vs game I won against a big mouthed older dude. I had a lot of fun with the PSX version of Marvel vs Street Fighter in college. Everyone had their own fixed team made up of a Capcom char and a Marvel char. I agree the limitations of that version weren't that bad if you didn't focus on them. I got the Dreamcast later. It always frustrated me I couldn't unlock all characters of MvC2. Some of them required a different kind of points I wasn't able to get. I don't remember if it was by playing online or the arcade by importing data through the Dreamcast gamepad thingie. I keep playing a lot of fighting games, old and new. While I'm mostly a KoF fan, I'd say no other 2d fighting game has impressed me as much as UMvC3, even if it is lacking X-Men in the roster.

Here is my list of the best fighting games: 1. SF2 Super Turbo 2. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 3. Smash Melee 4. Marvel vs Capcom 2 MvC 3 was a massive disappointment, seeing as we had to wait a decade for it. Get rid of the instant win X-Factor thing and it might hold up MvC 2

After seeing this video and learning that the PS version of X-Men vs Street Fighter doesn't have the option to switch/tag team at will, made me laugh at my 9yo self. I was at this arcade, (the ones in residential homes, in the Philippines. Yep that's our version of arcade, someone's veranda who just happen to live in the neighbourhood with arcade boxes lined up, obvs all coin operated) and started playing X-Men vs Street Fighter on arcade mode, then to my surprise, I couldn't switch/tag team during fight! Having played the game somewhere else before, I knew there's a tag team mechanics in the game. So I went and complained to the owner and told him that the tag buttons aren't working, so he spent hours working on it, probably at least 2 hours, checking the hardware, the settings and all that, while I sat there waiting and playing Metal Slug on the Arcade box next to him the whole time. I would ask him every now and then if he's fixed it, which probably annoyed him a lot. He ended up not fixing it, BECAUSE THAT VERSION WAS THE PS VERSION!!!! Funny, I've only realised this right now, year 2022, after around 24 years, because of this video. 😅 Thanks for the cool documentary of one of my fave games of all time!

The only gripe I have with marvel Vs capcom 2 is the lack of character ending but the amount of characters and pallet colours makes up for it and the super cool game play. Oh and the boss was rather disappointing but mixing the backgrounds in 3d while keeping 2d sprites was cool.

MvC1 was the best to me. I would even put X-men v Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes over MvC2. I hate how they ditched the special characters and 6 button system in MvC2. Then it was only a 4button system in MvC3. By Infinite it was just a button masher. You no longer needed to execute combos like project justice. Now all fighting games are like that. No technique just a flat learning curve. Then MVC Infinite was by far the worst one. MvC1 had the ability to play all characters at once. Could have 4 controllers on the Dreamcast. And if you unlocked the download saved from internet like I did, you could play the Onslaught version where you play against the CPU. I still love that part. Hasn’t been like that since.

The people who made MVCI were dumb to not put in the Marvel Netflix characters at the time like DD, punisher, iron fist, Luke Cage… What a missed opportunity 🤷‍♂️
