@@mmhmmmyearight7183 agree, dislike also the looks of shiny mvc3 sprites, though i think mvc should go the guilty gear way in terms of looks, it looks very fluid
The Magneto Boss from the first game has to be one of the most immaculate and aesthetically looking/smoothly animated and badass silhouettes in general
@@jesusf.2600 It took a lot of tries to take him down. I haven't played that one in 10-15 years. That was probably after like 10 continues. Hands down the hardest of the Marvel/Capcom bosses.
@@Derthbox ya seriously I sold it :/ Well I somehow manage to hack psp (or ps2 I forgot) then I put an emulator on it and put some games from different console including Marvel vs capcom 2 but I lost it when we move house annnd gone
Jesus Christ, the guy is a fucking spammer and his laugh drives mt nuts. I suffered a lot to beat him mainly due to this phase, it went to a point where I'd just spam Cyclops' laser
Yeah, he sounds like he belongs in the LEGO world. He has a high pitch but no psychosis like Carnage. Just makes him sound annoying instead of intimidating. Very bad voice direction!
Why Carnage is not a fighter is beyond me. I get Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2, but 3 and Infinite, there's NO excuse not to include him. Licensing issues, I suppose. That's why MvsC2 will always be my favorite b/c it has the best, largest fighter roster, best fighting (so chaotic and fast paced, I love it), and best boss fight. I love how Abyss having three forms reminds me of my fav shounen battle anime series. 👊
I always thought Abyss was cool. I also liked the fact that his true body was the floating black ball in the air and the monster was something he conjured to distract you.

Every female in this old games were, storm, rogue, ruby heart, the only one who didn't fit was morrigan and that was because her sprite was reused from her original game
I believe this was because the West had a major influence in the look and feel of the aesthetic in the game, instead of flashy colors, groovy music and aesthetic fonts, transitions and menus, now it´s the most lackluster, souless, ARIAL 12, simple and tasteless thing in general, and don´t get me started on the "HOLYWOOD INSPIRED" ost, it´s not bad, but it´s forgettable.
I know everyone loves MvC2, and while I started with the first MvC back in the day, I have to say that UMvC3 is my personal favourite. The character diversity was awesome and gave us so many new characters who had their own distinct play styles.
I feel the same way. I love the whole series, but UMVC3 is my favorite. I still go back and play it. It isn't perfect, but it's closer to being balanced than the rest. If we'd only gotten that one last patch.
I love it too, but the problem with this game is that it has terrible online, it is hilariously unbalanced and the x-factor mecanic is the most broken thing i've ever seen in a fighting game
That first version of Magneto appeared originally in X-Men: Children of the Atom for Sega Saturn (remember that console?). He was, by far, the toughest of any of the MvC bosses to beat. He did everything far too well on defense, at range, up close, and with unblockable finishes. The other bosses all had gimmicky movements that you could plan around and punish, as well as predictable patterns. Magneto didn't.
@@ericheiser2324 Abyss is a joke if you use Mega Man. Spam hard punch in phase 1 with blocking, then phase 2 spam from a distance, he won’t get any damage in on you. Final form, spam your Hyper Mega Man super special and bam, easiest of the bosses.
There's something so poetic about Ryu facing off against Cyber-Akuma - going into the depths of strength Ryu is so opposed to - and Ryu wins by smacking him in the nuts.
MvCI is a total disgrace. What an aweful dumb looking and boring final boss. Not to mention the tasteless and dull "Congratulations" Ending. The game was a complete offense and disrespect to the fanbase, so sad.
It's not as dull as this video makes it seem. You're supposed to do as much damage as possible when he has his arms up guarding. You break his guard and do big damage. "This is not the way".
My biggest problem with the game is just the overall atmosphere. All the other games you can really feel tension because the bosses are intimidating and actually challenging. I'm sorry but Ultron just doesn't do it for me.
There was a clip of somebody play with Ryu as part of his team. He was preparing to do a Shinkuu Hadouken against Galactus...he got to 'Shinkuu...Ha--', then Galactus flicked him away for a snapback, basically telling Ryu to shut up. 🤭🤭 I don't know if that clip is still here on YT...
I remember finding a FAQ back in my early internet days (probably before 56k) and trying the Akuma code out at our local Walmart. All our minds were blown!
@@DoctorBadvibes Yep! That was back when Wal-Mart weren't cowards and they had arcade games. Good times playing World Heroes with my buddy! "Dude, Bruce Lee has a dragon kick!"
I miss those days. Now it's all online mobile gaming which I fear may make coin arcades obsolete. Honestly, online mobile gaming doesn't feel competitive compared to arcades. Maybe it's just the early 30s millenial in me talking.
@@hectorcollazo8845 Coin arcades are obsolete because of home releases, not because of mobile games, support your local FGC and play the same games you're nostalgic for.
The spirit of the old games carries on in MUGEN with hundreds of more characters for each of the franchises. Not only that, but we also got hundreds more other well made characters from franchises like DC, SNK, and Tekken as well, just to name a few. And yes, *it’s even more nuts than this believe it or not…* Thank you Stan Lee for letting Capcom use the Marvel characters. *Thank you for everything.*
I still have nightmares about cyber akuma, he was the hardest boss to beat wish I could concentrate in my life and duties as much as i Had while fighting him as a kid
I was a dumb child, i thought me losing against Galactus actually meant that the world would legitimately be destroyed and i was scared because of that, i was already pretty scared of galactus to begin with
@@Terumimi no different from a kid thinking he will go to hell if he does something forbidden, and between hell and Galactus i go for the coolest and necessary evil

Onslaught: It's going to take more than a few Street Fighter help to defeat me. Abyss: I want to take you for a ride. Galactus: Amma pull a Deadpool & tear this comic page apart. Ultron Sigma: Disney Capcom merger failed.
Yeah, he's one of the better looking characters in this game ... yet they gave him such a WTF voice. I hope there's a proper MVC4 and they go more Venom and less Gollum.
@@gozearbus1584 this era had attention to detail with Sound. Remember, they used the same voices from the cartoons (most popular media outside of comics at the time) in the game. Today it’d be like having captain America and Thor voiced by the actors from Marvel Infinity War. That familiarity was everything. That’s what the themes brought in as well. It gave the fighters personality. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the best game overall in the series due to the characters and addition of a 3rd tag partner. But the sound track by far was a major disappointment.
Left on a mic by accident. It’s mainly the stick on my Hori RAP4. The stock stick switches are pretty loud. Especially if you have it sitting beside a mic haha
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter is basically a rehash of X-Men vs. Street Fighter. For example: 1. Capcom could've given us colossal Marvel supervillains like a giant Ultron and Ultron Gouki/Ultron Akuma as the final bosses instead. 2. No new stages? 3. No new plot? 4. Even most of the endings suck accept the ones like where The Avengers tried to recruit Ryu on their team but he turns down the offer because he had ambitions of his own which they gave him their respect in return. 5. Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes is the true sequel.
True, i always noticed that it was basically just an update to XMvSF (my favorite game in the series) but I still really like MSHvsSF tho, spent a ton of quarters on that game as a kid. I honestly prefer it to MvC1.
@@thegreenjem7336 Well the stories: 1. *X-Men: Children of the Atom -* The game is loosely based on the "Fatal Attractions" storyline. The main antagonist is Magneto, who plans to unleash an electromagnetic pulse on the Earth that will disrupt the magnetic fields and create havoc on the world's electrical systems ushering in a Dark Age for Earth's non-mutant population. With the promise of a mutant-run planet, the X-Men's most formidable foes join forces with Magneto. 2. *Marvel Super Heroes -* Loosely based on "The Infinity Gauntlet" storyline, the game focuses on heroes and villains battling each other for the Infinity Gems. The main antagonist is Thanos, who plots to use the Infinity Gems to take over the universe. 3. *X-Men vs. Street Fighter -* An impressed and scheming Apocalypse challenges a mysterious attacker against the X-Men and the Brotherhood known as "Akuma" to a fight to the death only to take over the world as an opportunity to enslave all Mutants and all World Warriors so no one can stop him. While the X-Men received info from the threat of the Apocalypse, they met Ryu whom they were astonished by his ki energy that happens to be the light version of Akuma's dark energy which the Apocalypse also happens to be obsessed with. During the recruitment, Xavier had the 8 World Warriors injected with mutant DNA to make their powers equal so they can accept the challenge of the Apocalypse to save the world or to take it over. 4. *Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter -* With Akuma now being defeated and turned into a obedient but destructive cyborg from the wrath, retribution and control of Apocalypse who only did it to prove himself and fulfill his goal. He demands a rematch, but this time, Wolverine calls the Avengers while Cyclops recruits the World Warriors once again along with Spider-Man inviting Sakura and Dan to join the action so they can save Akuma, and to end the Apocalypse's death matches once again. 5. *Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes -* The storyline is loosely based on the X-Men: Onslaught arc from the Marvel Comics continuity: following an incident in which mutant telepath Charles Xavier was forced to enter into the mind of Magneto, part of Magneto's anger slipped into Xavier's psyche, and after merging with Xavier's darkest emotions it spawned a powerful psychic entity known as Onslaught. The game expands on the story by having Xavier's conscience calling forth heroes from the Capcom universe in order to help stop him. (The only game in the series to not have playable villains) 6. *Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes -* Two years after the battle against Onslaught, peace in the planet Earth was restored until a mysterious entity named Abyss, shrouded the atmosphere with his dark energy. It was consumed within a sphere that the being was holding close to him; With his immense strength, it blew passed a desert and the plant life was also ruined. A pirate known as Ruby Heart discovered the energy and warned the heroes and villains from the two camps who were fighting amongst themselves. Together, they must stop this new nemesis before the Earth and the universe is destroyed by Abyss' terrible power. 7. *Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds/Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 -* Victor Von Doom has assembled the greatest villains his world has to offer. But their are other worlds than theirs... Together with the diabolical Albert Wesker, a villain from another such world, this unholy alliance will join their respective universes in an effort to conquer both. But doing so has come with a terrible price. A great and powerful threat has been awakened... A threat that willset into motion a battle the likes of which neither world has ever known. 8. *Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite -* The plot follows the heroes and villains of the Marvel and Capcom universes, who must join forces once again to save their merged worlds against two new threats, Ultron and Sigma. (The Capcom vs. SNK series also had stories as well.)
Ken Masters Most of that is correct but I don’t think Apocalypse defeating Akuma and turning him into a cyborg is what actually happened, because I remember in Wolverine’s ending in MSHvsSF he defeats Cyber Akuma and then the real Akuma shows up to challenge him. I think he’s just a robot based on Akuma created by Apocalypse.
Cmon, that was always Sigma"s thing; kinda like brainiac from DC, always has some freakish cyborg almagamation as his last form. Ultron-Sigma reminded me too much of Sigma's last form in X4 but still fun for a fighting game
I never read the comics, but I've known Thans and the Infinity Stones because of Marvel Super Heroes. Played this in the arcades in the late 90s. This is the game that's usually setup on the big screen for everyone to watch.
I read Infinity Gauntlet a couple years ago so I know who all those characters in the background are now lol. Well actually i still dont know who the guy between Drax and Thor is
You’re lying. Galactus is hard. Thanos can be easy. Onslaught is only hard in his second form but like airborne apocalypse, easy. Magneto is also fairly easy. Cyber Akuma, not that hard when you beat Shin Akuma frequently, after that you just need to deal with 1.5 times the strength enhancement. When it’s two against one with crossover super attacks, then it just becomes moderately easy. Added challenge is only which of the two character endings you can only have since only the first character to K.O him can have that ending. Otherwise, Shin Akuma is harder than him. Abyss is tricky in his second form and beastly hard in his third (like Venom but now Carnal).
CAPCOM and Marvel offers the most colorful, absolutely creative and most wholesome type of fighting game I have ever seen! The roster of powerful characters is updating per release and this is a perfect gift for fans and collectors around the world 🗺 💯❤️
Honestly, I think Galactus is the toughest of them all. None of the others have insta kills- and at least most of their attacks can be dodged. Yeah, Galactus has a lot of windup, but hits a huge amount of the stage and even blocking does a lot of chip damage. And if you want to beat him in time, you have to have a near constant offense, especially on higher difficulty. Plus, he can spam that multi finger laser super as much as he wants- I’ve seen him do it three times in a row.
Galactus is really easy actually, the chip damage from blocking won't be too much if you advance guard (something that the guy from the video didn't do) he is really slow when it comes to attacks so you can guard with no problem, his command grab you can just do a super jump and if you get caught by it you can mash buttons to escape, his lasers do a lot of damage but let him stunned for a bit so you can get huge combos
Like Salted Llama said, the only REALLY hard Marvel boss is Magneto. I imagine there aren't many people with Saturns out there anymore (sadly I let mine go at some point), but fire up an emulator and you'll see. I don't think I ever beat him in the arcade.
It's not just satisfying to watch all old school arcades but to watch it with spicy combo is too good and hearing that buttons getting smashed make me remember the arcade who banned me foe breaking 3 buttons by smashing ramdomly to get combo
It is amazing how good mvc3 is! It really took the series to the next big step (and unfortunately stoped there) but still. For me xvsf mvc2 and mvc3 are the best!
@@DoctorBadvibes Excactly like you say! A new game that builds on mvc3! This series is amazing and it will be a pity to stop in infinity crap. Throw all the cinematic celebrity shit and bring back the comic colorful style and energy that make this series awesome back in the days!
I hated it when I was younger playing on my big brother's Playstation. The first form beat 2 of my characters and then this one showed up and defeated me while laughing. Was really sickening.
@@thegreenjem7336 MvC3 is better... But the visuals and style feels like a downgrade to the previous game. And it get worse when MvCI came along. The worse part is... On the MvC3 roster... I was expecting all 56 heroes including myself to return along with 28 newcomers... But Capcom didn't make that happen... 😭😭😭
Apocalypse moves like shit but his animation is so damn good!! The capcom series (except the infinity shit) had the best artworks and amazing colors!!!
The Xbox360 version. Unfortunately, that and the PS3 version have both been delisted from their marketplaces. Though, you can play the Arcade and Dreamcast versions on emulators pretty decently now. Just have to use tricks to unlock all the characters unless you feel like doing that grind.
wish they'd made a apocalypse playable with extra moves.like thanos that would've been great.a Nubian villain.the power of the Annunaki n reality like mumm ra people sleep on that truth.
You know whats badass about akuma?? When he says he's going to challenge every fighter in the world, he is serious about it even punching through timeline or other universe to satisfy his thirst for battle.
Yeah, he was a secret final boss in Capcom Vs SNK series, a final boss in SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, Street Fighter X Tekken, Tekken 7 (Welll not the best boss there was). He’s literally what he says: “I am the supreme fist master, know your weakness within you” and jumps into action. First time you see him, he’s a cool character. Second time, as a boss, he’s badass. When you learn about him, he appears as a monstrous demon, after you realize only divine beings have a chance against him, he becomes useless. Not everyday you realise “Akuma” is just his title and that his real name is “Gouki”. But he was popular and manageably beatable……unlike General Kaiser Knuckle though……..
if you think about it, the only thing disney marvel going is the MCU, everything else is just weird or a fail or ended when they started controlling everything
