Jessica keeps saying that Howard is going to be dead soon in this universe, but I’d like to think that with Bucky having his arc in this episode, Howard will probably not die, at least at the same time or in the same way as he does in the main universe.

This episode had so much to do and I'm impressed that, not only was it coherent but also enjoyable and I'd like to see more from them. Very good contrasts and parallels (Pym against Goliath, Stark, Peggy and Bucky, Thor and Bucky's murderous intent against the others, Hope and Peters loss, Ego and Pym being parents; howard as well but this was mostly for jokes). Still rushed but I love this team, very good.

@1:46 someone in 3D object wrangling messed up, those are 1998 Ford Police Interceptors. In 1988 Crown Vic's were all slab sided and blocky - the Taurus and the Thunderbird were the only aerodynamic smoothed over models at that time. That's why RoboCop drove a Taurus, it was so *FUTURE*

I'm not sure EGO would have this much power on earth. The point of his power on EGO was that it was him, this seems just as strong, but very far away from his home, which is the source of his power. Maybe it's just where he needs to charge or whatever, but I have a doubt. I feel that he couldn't have maintained that for long if that was going to maintain with continuity and not just ignoring it. It was long enough to almost take out The Avengers, w/o that assist. So it's not like it wasn't strong or powerful enough.

The 2 things I didn't like about this episode: 1) why would Peter immediately start attacking the cops when he lands? Completely unprovoked. It made no sense. Yeah the ship got shot at while he was entering earth's atmosphere, but the cops just stood there looking at him when he disembarked. 2) why would Wendy give Goose to Peter and Hope? The only reason Goose ended up staying with Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel is because Lawson was dead.

Something that I noticed when Gorbachev sent Bucky to combat Quill before he reached Moscow is the historical parallel. In 1941, a mere forty seven years from 1988, German forces attacked the then Soviet Union, which Russia was a part of. They got within miles of Moscow, nearly wiping the city out had it not been for Siberian reservists and the brutal winter. To me anyway, Gorbachevs action in this universe seems to be an indirect reference; the Red Army was the reason an "unstoppable" force failed to reach Moscow in 1941, but when an alien rampage came to Earth, the Red Army was outgunned-like Fury alluded to in the Avengers- and thus leadership would send their enhanced person to combat the danger to prevent this from happening. On a side note, wouldn't it have made more sense for Gorbachev to deploy the Widows over Winter Soldier? It seemed as though HYDRA and not the USSR controlled Bucky despite his Siberian hiding spot.

This episode is also an homage to the movie Akira (the classic anime), which also came out in 1988. In the same way that episode 1 was a tribute to Bladerunner as much as to the detective film noir genre. The animators/filmmakers owe much to these two groundbreaking movies.

At this point in time, this is the first Thor movie Thor (or even hella before that since Thor 1 was in like 2010). He's pretty brash, impatient, war hungry and really just cant wait to be king. Of course not all of these characteristics are here in this episode. He probably didn't lose Odin, Loki, Frigga, Sif or anyone important after Egos attack here (they presumably have seeked refugee somewhere), but it was nice to see this type of Thor again. Very serious, knowledgeable on the space lore and vast universe beyond Earth, and the only comedy coming from him is not understanding human customs or sayings

"We are the World" was in 1985 and for relief in Africa. It had nothing to do with the Cold War. It was orchestrated by Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, and Quincy Jones, inspired by Harry Bellefonte. It was also a Grammy winner. Referencing that and MTV seems to just be buzz words to say "we're in the 80s" And in 1988, Sammy Hagar was in Van Halen. Though Thor does seem to be more of a David Lee Roth type.
