I started listening to gospel music when the pandemic first hit. I lost 20lbs and was on my death bed. Marvin Sapp music pulled me through. God is good please believe it!!!
@@eliottlindsey40 It's called maintaining. He still wants to be saved and have his cake too. The Bible says, we're in the world but not of it. Come out from among them and touch not the unclean thing. The thing is many of them want to be saved regardless still having their cake in the world.
Great interview. I was introduced to Commissioned as a teenager and instantly took to their unique and sophisticated way of harmonizing, Bible based lyrics and their whole personas. I looked up to them as godly men and could just tell by their ministry that they were true godly men who walked upright. I didn't have an example of that in my home but I did in my church. It's awesome hearing Marvin Sapp confirm what I sensed even as a teenager who often struggled with being different and not doing all the things my friends were doing like sleeping around, selling drugs and more. Groups like Commissioned and the Winans showed me from a distance through their music that a man could be saved, cool and relevant without compromising integrity. Marvin Sapp is really good friends with a pastor who's church I was a long time vert active member of when I was stationed in Charleston, SC so I have heard him preach in person a couple of times and I will say that Reverend Sapp is an AMAZING orator. One visit he had copies of one of his first solo CD's and we couldn't wait to buy them after service. We were all choir members and used to have his CDs on repeat often. Thanks for posting the video!
Commissioned is really second to none when it comes to contemporary Gospel Music 🎶 . The anointing is stronger now than when the music fist came out! It’s absolutely amazing!
Why? Never would have made it has impacted the music world. Even saw a clip of Justin Bieber singing it. Plus everyone talks about commissioned especially Jamie foxx
@@southernrapfan8769 truth be told they have never put out a whack album....all of the ones you mentioned were great albums as well. I think "matters of the heart" is the best one, to me.
Oh how I loved listening to Commissioned!!! I first heard them at a dept store warehouse sale. A guy put in a cassette to test out a stereo. I heard the music, ran over and inquired as to who was singing. Left the sale, went to the “wreckastow” and bought the album right away. It’s been a love affair ever since
Commissioned was my group back in day. I brought every tape and cd they made as a worship leader. I still listen to them. The harmonies were off the change
My first experience with the awesome Marvin Sapp was in Muskegon, Mi. at Zion Baptist Church in the early eighties. I can't remember the name of the group that he was with, but I could tell back then that her was anointed in the gospel.
Met him back in 1996 as a youngin. Great gospel artist. One of the best singing voices I ever heard. Biggest Commissioned fan growing up. My pops fault.
Interestingly, despite the R&B and New Jack Swing incorporation of Commissioned; Take 6 in the late 80s/early 90s used to beat out Commissioned for alot of grammy awards, etc. I think it had alot to do with the novelty of how Take 6 incorporated Jazz and Acapella, etc. Also, Take 6 had some "safer" songs, by using slave spirituals, instead of writing contemporary songs like the ones of Commissioned.
COMMISSIONED is one of two group's that i would listen too whenever I was down and struggling (The Winans) is the 2nd group! I thank you guys for helping me whenever I couldn't find my way! Now, I just listen, reflect, and thank Yahweh for these brother's & their Angelic voices in Yahshua's name🙏🏽☝🏽💯💯💯💯💯💯
Greetings to everyone! I Pray that you all are having a great day. Stay Blessed. Keep the Faith. Keep Pushing. Somebody has received a Confirmation watching this incredibly Blessed interview. Don't Give up. Whatever it is God Got It. Thanks again Vlad and your entire Team for bringing Us this piece of Encouragement, Inspiration. The SON is still SHINNING on Us and Our Family's. Enjoy the rest of your day!!! Love and Blessings to all 💜.
Omg am a witness to how he felt in those days cause I had the same experience but on a much different level of singing and traveling but wow Marvin's testimony about that is really powerful I wish we had more men groups like them in this more up-to-date modern times I hope they find time to give us a movie about their lives I'll watch it like crazy fr fr
ALL GLORY TO GOD. GREAT INTERVIEW . GODS GIVES US GIFTS TO BLESS SOULS TO BE SAVED. AND OTHER IN THE BODY OF CHRIST TO TO ENCOURAGED TO PRESS ON IN THE NAME OF JESUS. ❤
Love me some Winans, but they are not better than Commissioned, Winans had more professional music and Marvin but because they are family the diversity of voices was not there, that did not have a pure tenor like Karl, a vamp guy like Keith, and the background vocals of Commissioned is second to no one, not even in the secular music.
As a Commissioned fan. I used to listen to other RnB artists thinking....hold up these guys are copy cats. Commissioned been doing that. But it makes sense though because as a church boy from my youth a PK at that. I used to take heat in my own house listening to Commissioned. Their music was SO ahead of it's time that they truly didn't get the credit within the Gospel circle but those secular RnB artists most assuredly gave them their flowers because most of them cats came up out the church themselves.
Its Fred then Marvin....without them 2 leading man......but all of them was had crazy vocals dont get me wrong but them two were the leaders.....specifically Fred!
@@silvermann6515 clearly you can't read!!! I said all of them was great but once them 2 left clearly there were no more albums so clearly you don't know anything about this group to respond the way you did....they stopped and retired basically after them two left drop 🎤
@@cheatcodecharlie Ok Good time Charlie..🤣😂.. but YOU are the misinformed one. I am a Commissioned-ologist since 1985 .. since the pink album.. I am VERY WELL familiar with their body of work. Even down to the credits.. who wrote what songs…who played what instruments.. etc..who sang/sings what songs..when the transition of band members and vocalists left and came..1985-2000.., from I’m going on to Times and Seasons.. and everything in between… 🥳🥸😉
