I had read that Dawn Wells was tone deaf so it doesn't surprise me her singing voice was dubbed. It is interesting that you found out who the actual singers were. Good work Rick! I wonder how Dawn felt when Sherwood asked for to use her own voice in The Second Ginger Grant. It brought to light that she couldn't sing. But it also was the climax in that episode that brought her back to reality!

A few bits of trivia about Carol Connors. She became the "presentation girl" on "The Gong Show," helping host Chuck Barris present the acts. She also did some time on the exotic film circuit, starring in a number of movies that were obviously strictly for the adult crowd.

There are 5 Carol Connors listed at IMDB. 3 are specifically listed as having music dept. activity. Hard to know at this point which Carol did which... as documention as found online is not very comprehensive.

All right. The photos they showed of her in the presentation strongly resemble the Carol Connors I recall from the Gong Show. However, this does not necessarily mean she is the one referred to. It's possible the wrong pictures were used.@@jenniferwhitewolf3784

I had known about the lip sync for most of the songs that Dawn sang. But I did not know about the episode where she becomes Ginger. I had a feeling ,because it was off tone, but wasn't sure. Always learn something cool watching your videos Rick! Thanks for all your work!!

I didn't know that about Dawn Wells, but it doesn't matter, she is/was great and oh so pretty. I was and still am in love with her. A friend of mine worked in the film industry in LA and met Dawn Wells several times. He said she was as nice off camera as she was on camera. That doesn't surprise me on bit. There was another movie star, dancer who could not sing and that was the great Vera Ellen. Vera Ellen was one of the best female dancers of the 1940's and 50's and starred in a lot of musicals, but she couldn't sing a lick. Trudy Stevens and Rosemary Clooney sang all of Vera Ellen's lines while Vera Ellen mouthed along. For the movie White Christmas, Rosemary Clooney worked with her but couldn't get her to be a singer better but to no avail. In the same film Vera Ellen also worked with Rosemary Clooney on her dancing. Rosemary Clooney was not a very good dancer. It's really interesting to find out how the magic of television and Hollywood can boost up a stars weak points. I am also in love with Vera Ellen; oh so very pretty. Thanks for sharing this.

Yeah Dawn was the best. I use to send her actual props from the show and pictures and she would sign them. I always sent money for her time and return postage and as you know she use to spend her own money on postage returning pictures or items to fans.

Hey, Rick! Another GREAT video! Here’s something I’ve picked up tonight for the first time and I’ve have seen the “Don’t Bug the Mosquitoes” episode countless times. If the Mosquitoes arrive later in the scene and Mr. Howell announces before the three gentlemen and the three women are on stage, then WHO is responsible for opening the stage curtain?
